Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis penting dimiliki oleh siswa dalam memahami materi pembelajaran. Kemampuan penalaran matematis yang dimiliki siswa berbeda-beda sehingga perlu dilakukan investigasi. Salah satu materi yang dapat mengukur kemampuan tersebut yaitu materi dilatasi pada transformasi geometri. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan investigasi kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas 8 dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita dilatasi. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, pemberian soal tes, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu soal tes, rubrik penalaran matematis, dan rubrik penilaian soal tes. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 21 siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Laboratorium UM serta guru dan dosen sebagai validator. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Laboratorium UM tergolong tinggi. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penalaran matematis dalam kategori tinggi sebanyak 81%. Sedangkan untuk siswa dengan kemampuan penalaran matematis kategori sedang sebanyak 14% dan kategori rendah sebanyak 5%.

Abstract

Mathematics is closely related to science because both require the ability to analyze, think logically, and systematically to understand. This study explores students' level of abstraction thinking in understanding the concept of exponent numbers and its implementation in science. This research uses a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were students of the master's program in basic education. The data collection techniques used were tests and interviews. The results showed differences in identifying exponent numbers in low and high abstraction level students. Low abstraction level students perform problem-solving stages, such as identifying and writing down every information listed in the problem, using mathematical symbolization, performing number operations according to problem understanding, and checking again. Meanwhile, high abstraction level students performed problem-solving stages, such as identifying every piece of information in the problem without writing it on the worksheet, not writing the results of their understanding explicitly on the worksheet, not writing explicitly the model to be used, performing number operations without paying attention to the type of number because they already understood and they made a conclusion. Both level students applied the concept of exponent numbers in science for writing units and density.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ understanding and skills in developing interactive assessments using Liveworksheet at SMP Al Hidayah Malang. The activity was conducted through workshops using lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and mentoring methods. The participants consisted of 9 teachers from various subjects. Data were collected through pre- and post-workshop questionnaires, open-ended responses, and participants’ products. The results showed an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills after participating in the workshop. All participants (100%) successfully created interactive assessments using various Liveworksheet features such as multiple choice, matching, drag-and-drop, and checkbox. In addition, participants gave positive responses to the workshop because it was considered beneficial in improving their knowledge and skills in educational technology. Therefore, the workshop on developing interactive assessments based on Liveworksheet proved effective in improving teachers’ competencies in digital assessment development.Pendampingan Penyusunan Asesmen Interaktif Berbasis Liveworksheet Bagi Guru Sekolah Menengah PertamaABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun asesmen interaktif berbasis Liveworksheet di SMP Al Hidayah Malang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan pendampingan. Subjek kegiatan terdiri atas 9 guru dari berbagai mata pelajaran. Data diperoleh melalui angket pre dan post workshop, pertanyaan terbuka, serta hasil produk peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru setelah mengikuti workshop. Seluruh peserta (100%) berhasil membuat asesmen interaktif berbasis Liveworksheet dengan variasi fitur seperti pilihan ganda, menjodohkan, drag and drop, dan checkbox. Selain itu, peserta memberikan respons positif terhadap pelaksanaan workshop karena dinilai bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan penggunaan teknologi pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, workshop penyusunan asesmen interaktif berbasis Liveworksheet terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam pengembangan asesmen digital.Kata Kunci :Asesmen Interaktif; Liveworksheet; Workshop; Kompetensi Guru; Pengabdian Masyarakat

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the knowledge prescribed in the school curriculum, the knowledge enacted by mathematics teachers, and the knowledge constructed by students in learning trigonometric ratios through the perspective of Didactic Transposition Theory. A qualitative intrinsic case study was conducted with one mathematics teacher and 22 tenth-grade students in an Indonesian senior high school. Data were collected from curriculum documents, teaching notes, classroom observations, interviews, and two tests designed to capture students’ conceptual understanding. The data were analyzed using document analysis, content analysis, and descriptive analysis. The findings show that although students’ understanding of trigonometric ratios improved during instruction, the enacted classroom practices mainly emphasized trigonometric ratios as fixed relationships among the sides of right triangles. Consequently, students tended to interpret sine, cosine, and tangent primarily as geometric ratios rather than as functions of angles. This emphasis limited students’ ability to connect geometric reasoning with functional interpretations of trigonometric relationships. These results highlight the importance of strengthening instructional coherence in curriculum implementation so that classroom teaching better supports the development of both geometric and functional understanding of trigonometry.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakteristik computational thinking (CT) yang dimiliki calon guru matematika pada materi pola bilangan ditinjau dari generalisasi yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus jamak. Subjek penelitian ini dikategorikan menjadi tiga jenis yaitu, (1) S1A adalah calon guru matematika yang dapat menemukan nilai dan , serta dapat menemukan bentuk pola umum ( yang melibatkan , (2) S2 adalah calon guru matematika yang dapat menemukan nilai dan , serta dapat menemukan pola umum ( sederhana tanpa melibatkan , dan (3) S3 adalah calon guru matematika yang dapat menemukan nilai dan , namun tidak dapat menemukan bentuk pola umum ( . Dua subjek dipilih dari setiap kategori melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini terdiri atas peneliti, tes tertulis berupa lembar tugas terkait computational thinking pada materi pola bilangan, pedoman wawancara semi-terstruktur, alat rekam audio, dan catatan peneliti. Teknik pengambilan data melalui purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data kualitatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, Terdapat tiga jenis karakteristik CT calon guru matematika meliputi, (1) karakteristik CT S1 yaitu, memiliki generalisasi dekat dalam pemecahan masalah dan memiliki generalisasi simbolik dalam penentuan pola umum, (2) karakteristik CT S2 yaitu, memiliki generalisasi jauh dalam pemecahan masalah dan memiliki generalisasi simbolik dalam penentuan pola umum, serta (3) karakteristik CT S3 yaitu, memiliki generalisasi dekat dalam pemecahan masalah, kemudian dalam penemuan kesamaan dalam barisan bilangan, S3A memiliki generalisasi kontekstual dan S3B memiliki generalisasi faktual. Pemahaman terkait karakterisasi computational thinking calon guru matematika ditinjau dari generalisasi ini dapat digunakan calon guru maupun guru sebagai sumber rujukan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Abstract: Technological advances in the 21st century have changed various aspects of human life, including education. One of the technological advances can be utilized as a scaffolding for students through YouTube videos. YouTube is the most frequently visited platform by internet users to learn about science. Scaffolding is assistance provided by more experienced people to others to be able to solve problems and reduce them gradually. Therefore, this study aims to explore YouTube videos as effective e-scaffolding in mathematics learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploration type with thematic data analysis techniques. The data sources in this study are YouTube videos with the criteria of a minimum of 1000 viewers (views); (2) at least 50 comments; and at least 100 likes. The results of the study indicate that YouTube videos can assist students to understand and solve the problems given. E-scaffolding in this study is divided into two categories, namely local e-scaffolding and global e-scaffolding. Local e-scaffolding occurs when video content does not present arguments based on intrinsic mathematical properties, such as calculation tricks that are limited to a particular context. In contrast, global e-scaffolding provides assistance supported by arguments based on intrinsic mathematical principles, so that problem-solving strategies are more profound and generally valid.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru MGMP Geografi Kabupaten Banyuwangi dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis deep learning yang berorientasi pada penguatan geocapability. Program ini dirancang untuk mengatasi rendahnya ketersediaan perangkat ajar yang inovatif secara teknologi, kaya akan muatan lokal, serta mampu mendorong keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada siswa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui metode pelaksanaan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan, pelatihan konsep deep learning dan geocapability, pendampingan penyusunan modul ajar. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Rogojampi sebagai sekolah mitra sekaligus pusat koordinasi MGMP Geografi Banyuwangi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru geografi mampu mengembangkan modul ajar yang lebih Relevan, lebih kritis, merefleksikan kurikulum geografi abad 21, serta memadukan isu ketahanan dan kerawanan terkini di Banyuwangi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini memperkuat kolaborasi MGMP, serta memperkuat kompetensi guru untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran berbasis deep learning dalam konteks geocapability. Kegiatan pendampingan di harapkan dapat dijadikan model pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan bagi komunitas MGMP, dan membantu mengangkat tren pembelajaran geografi berbasis kompetensi di masa mendatang.

Abstract

This study investigates university students’ vulnerability to cybercrimes at a public university in West Africa. The study specifically examines how students’ online behaviours, including password management, data access habits, internet usage, social media practices, and smartphone security, contribute to their susceptibility to cyber threats. The research adopts a survey research design, allowing for the collection of data on students’ cybersecurity behaviours and risk exposure through structured survey questions. A structured online questionnaire was administered to 580 students, and data were analysed using descriptive statistics, including mean, mode and standard deviation. The findings reveal that university students are highly vulnerable to cyberattacks due to low adoption of two-step verification and frequent password reuse, which increase the risk of unauthorized access and credential theft. However, their tendency to avoid sharing passwords, using simple passwords and saving passwords in browsers are positive security habits that reduce some cybersecurity risks. While many students demonstrate responsible cybersecurity habits, significant vulnerabilities remain in data storage and file transfer practices, which could lead to unauthorized access, data breaches, or malware infections. The outcomes indicate that although students show caution in avoiding risky downloads and pirated software, they still engage in high-risk behaviours related to internet and network access in the frequent use of public Wi-Fi, unverified file sharing, pop-up ad interactions, and improper VPN usage, increasing their exposure to cyber threats such as unauthorized access, malware infections, and phishing attacks. Although students demonstrate caution in some aspects of social media use, they remain vulnerable to cybersecurity risks due to excessive personal information sharing, frequent posting, and engagement across multiple platforms, with these behaviours increasing their exposure to privacy breaches, targeted cyber-attacks, and social engineering threats. While students generally avoid high-risk behaviours such as rooting their devices, they remain vulnerable due to inconsistent security practices on their smartphones. University students’ excessive reliance on GPS tracking, automatic synchronization, and lending devices to others increases exposure to privacy breaches, data leaks, and unauthorized access. This study is original in its consideration of the unique demographic characteristics of university students in North Central Nigeria along with their cybercrime vulnerability. The empirical results have established that while some students demonstrate responsible cybersecurity habits, social media usage significantly heightens vulnerabilities to cybercrime. The study underscores the need for targeted cybersecurity awareness programmes and institutional policies to enhance students’ online safety.

Abstract

Understanding concepts is the foundation of learning mathematics. However, in reality, many students still struggle to understand mathematical concepts, including material on function transformation. Practicing structured questions and applying game-based learning models is one way to overcome these challenges. Apart from that, incorporating contextual learning with elements of local culture is important to integrate into learning activities so that students feel connected and happy while learning. This research employs the research & development method using the ADDIE (analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate) development model. The model aims to describe the process of developing BLIFOSI (Blitar Function Transformation) media, specifically an educational board game based on the Blitar City Map, to facilitate understanding of function transformation materials. This research involved 35 students from Class XI at SMAN 2 Blitar. The validation results of media and material experts show that BLIFOSI is valid and suitable for application in learning activities. In addition, students' responses in the positive response questionnaire show that BLIFOSI is practical to use. Meanwhile, the test results showed that 94.28% of students obtained a score ≥ KKTP. These results demonstrate that BLIFOSI can support students' conceptual understanding of functional transformation material. Keywords: BLIFOSI, Concept Understanding, Function Transformation

Abstract

Mathematics learning must consider students’ diverse needs to achieve optimal outcomes, including differences in learning styles, levels of understanding, and learning difficulties. Applying Bloom’s Taxonomy helps teachers design more effective strategies, yet many still neglect thorough planning, treating it as a yearly routine. To overcome this, teacher collaboration is essential. This study aimed to facilitate a lesson study involving mathematics teachers from the Mathematics Teachers’ Association (MGMPS) in Banyuwangi, junior high school students, pre-service teachers, and mathematics education lecturers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research was conducted at a junior high school in Banyuwangi. The research used qualitative analysis with observations, reflections, and triangulation to align teaching strategies with students’ learning styles and understanding levels. The findings show that lesson study effectively enhances mathematics learning by accommodating students’ learning diversity. Through the stages of planning, observation, and reflection, teachers developed more responsive and differentiated lessons. Moreover, lesson study promoted professional growth among teachers through collaboration and reflective practice. Overall, lesson study provides a sustainable and adaptive approach to fostering inclusive and high-quality mathematics learning.  Keywords: Lesson study, learning style, mathematics learning
