Abstract

Mathematics learning in junior high schools often faces challenges such as low conceptual understanding and limited teacher collaboration. Android-based Lesson Study (LS) offers a promising solution through technology integration, but related research is still scarce. This study analyzes the potential of Android-based LS for mathematics learning in junior high schools based on Scopus-indexed literature. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using the PRISMA protocol. Searches in Scopus used the keywords "Lesson Study," "Android app," "mathematics education," and "secondary school," filtered by: (1) 2019–2024 publications, (2) journal articles only, and (3) full-text availability. Of 78 articles identified, 15 met the inclusion criteria. Results show: (1) 80% highlight Android apps’ effectiveness in improving teacher collaboration; (2) 60% report enhanced student motivation via interactive media; (3) main challenges involve teachers’ TPACK and infrastructure. The study concludes Android-based LS has strong potential for junior high schools, especially with adequate TPACK training.

Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka merupakan kurikulum yang menekankan pada pengembangan kompetensi peserta didik serta menitikberatkan pada materi esensial. Pembelajaran dirancang pada kebebasan pendidik dan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Pembelajaran melalui kegiatan proyek memberikan kesempatan pada peserta didik untuk mengembangkan materi secara luas dari permasalahan di lingkungan sekitar. Penerapan kurikulum merdeka diharap mampu menjadikan pembelajaran lebih efektif. Salah satu pembelajaran yang efektif dalam kurikulum merdeka adalah pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Dalam mengoptimalkan kegiatan pembelajaran dapat mengimplementasikan model Learning Cycle 7E yang diintegrasikan dengan media pembelajaran interaktif yaitu prezi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui analisis dari implementasi model Learning Cycle 7E berbantuan media prezi dalam pembelajaran berdiferensiasi materi menjaga persatuan pada mata pelajaran pendidikan Pancasila di kelas 2 SD Anak Saleh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Learning Cycle 7E berbantuan media prezi berperan penting dalam pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di SD. Fungsi media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dalam kurikulum merdeka sebagai alat bantu untuk menyalurkan dan menguatkan materi kepada peserta didik secara menarik, jelas, dan teliti. Penggunaan media pembelajaran menjadi suatu keniscayaan pada era revolusi 4.0 dan society 5.0 karena peserta didik yang merupakan generasi Z yang terbiasa dalam penggunaan teknologi pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Kesimpulannya model Learning Cycle 7E yang diintegrasikan dengan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi memiliki kedudukan dan peran penting dalam pembelajaran berdiferensiasi.

Abstract

Strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi masih menjadi permasalahan bagi sebagian guru di Kabupaten Malang. Mengacu pada permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas guru Sekolah Dasar melalui pemberian pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kalisongo 01 Kecamatan Dau. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru dari beberapa sekolah di kabupaten Malang. Metode yang digunakan meliputi beberapa tahapan, yakni koordinasi dengan Korwil Dinas Pendidikan setempat, pemberian pelatihan, dan pendampingan kepada para peserta terkait strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah kemampuan masing-masing guru dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Setiap guru diminta mengumpulkan modul ajar yang telah disusun kepada tim pengabdi untuk diberikan feedback. Dari hasil modul ajar yang telah dikumpulkan para peserta menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru mampu menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di kelas. Para peserta sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini sehingga para peserta minta dilakukan kegiatan yang serupa dengan tema yang berbeda

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan pendidikan di Indonesia adalah kurangnya minat siswa dalam belajar matematika. Hal ini diantaranya disebabkan oleh lingkungan belajar siswa yang tidak interaktif. Padahal, pengelolaan kelas menjadi krusial dikuasai oleh guru agar dapat memaksimalkan kualitas pembelajaran siswa di kelas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil pengajaran guru terhadap pengelolaan kelas matematika serta dapat digunakan sebagai pedoman guru dalam merancang model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui pengambilan data yang dilakukan dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara, menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengajaran guru yang telah menerapkan pendekatan teacher-centered learning dan mendukung pengelolaan kelas yang baik. Guru juga memberikan motivasi kepada siswa dan menumbuhkan antusiasme siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dengan sangat baik, serta pemberian pertanyaan pancingan kepada siswa juga memberikan dampak yang positif. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian ini bisa berkontribusi pada keilmuan terkait pengelolaan kelas matematika yang baik dan dapat dijadikan pedoman bagi praktisi pembelajaran matematika terkait pengadopsian pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa.

Abstract

During COVID-19 pandemic, teaching and learning was changed from face-to-face learning to online learning. There were many obstacles in learning mathematics by online-based learning. Such as geometric transformation, some material needs to be represented by a graphic or image, so that students will be easier to learn. This research was aimed to develop geometric transformation e-module assisted by GeoGebra software. The method of this research was used 4D-model developed by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel. The final draft of the e-module was validated by media and material expert. The final results of this research showed that E-module was valid and feasible to be used in geometric transformation learning process. The feasibility of the module was proven by the average score of the validity test was 88% and 86.67%, that can be converted to very good criteria. Small group trial in using e-module obtained student responses is 82.30% which means that the e-module is good and easy to use. This study has implications in education, that can be used to enrich students' knowledge in the learning process of geometric transformation material, increasing student’s activity, motivation, and learning outcomes.Selama pandemi COVID-19, proses belajar mengajar diubah dari pembelajaran tatap muka menjadi pembelajaran daring. Banyak kendala dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan pembelajaran berbasis online. Seperti transformasi geometri, beberapa materi perlu direpresentasikan dengan grafik atau gambar, agar siswa lebih mudah mempelajarinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-modul transformasi geometri berbantuan perangkat lunak GeoGebra. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan model 4D yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel. Draf akhir e-modul divalidasi oleh ahli media dan materi. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa E-modul sudah valid dan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran transformasi geometri. Kelayakan modul dibuktikan dengan skor rata-rata uji validitas 88% dan 86,67% yang dapat dikonversi menjadi kriteria sangat baik. Uji coba kelompok kecil dalam penggunaan e-modul diperoleh respon siswa sebesar 82,30% yang berarti e-modul sudah baik dan mudah digunakan. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pendidikan, yaitu dapat digunakan untuk memperkaya pengetahuan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran materi transformasi geometri, meningkatkan aktivitas, motivasi, dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis penting dimiliki oleh siswa dalam memahami materi pembelajaran. Kemampuan penalaran matematis yang dimiliki siswa berbeda-beda sehingga perlu dilakukan investigasi. Salah satu materi yang dapat mengukur kemampuan tersebut yaitu materi dilatasi pada transformasi geometri. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan investigasi kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas 8 dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita dilatasi. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, pemberian soal tes, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu soal tes, rubrik penalaran matematis, dan rubrik penilaian soal tes. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 21 siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Laboratorium UM serta guru dan dosen sebagai validator. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Laboratorium UM tergolong tinggi. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penalaran matematis dalam kategori tinggi sebanyak 81%. Sedangkan untuk siswa dengan kemampuan penalaran matematis kategori sedang sebanyak 14% dan kategori rendah sebanyak 5%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the response of students in class XI to the application of innovative methods and media in learning mathematics in teaching assistance activities at SMA Negeri 1 Batu. The background of this study is the low motivation of students to learn caused by the lack of variety in learning methods and media. The approach used in this descriptive research is a qualitative, with a subject of 36 students (13 male students and 23 female students) in class XI. Data were collected through validated questionnaires and structured interviews. The results of the analysis showed that students gave a positive response, with a score of , to the application of the discovery learning model, independent learning, the use of student worksheets, and interactive media such as Quizizz and snakes and ladders games. These innovations encourage students to be more active, motivated, and assisted in understanding mathematical concepts. Overall, the findings of this study indicate that the application of method and media innovations in teaching assistance activities can increase student involvement and understanding in learning mathematics in a more meaningful and enjoyable way.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the types of errors that arise when students solve probability problems by applying Newman’s stages, viewed from students’ levels of mathematical ability. This descriptive study employed a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of six eighth-grade students from MTs Al Huda. The subjects were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used in this study included a written test and an interview guide. The written test consisted of two items, and the interview guide was validated by experts and declared valid. Students with high mathematical ability made errors at the process skill stage. The leading cause of errors among students with high mathematical ability was poor calculation accuracy. Meanwhile, students with moderate mathematical ability made errors at the transformation and process skill stages. The primary factors causing errors among students with moderate mathematical ability were a lack of understanding of changes in the sample space in situations without replacement and insufficient understanding of fraction simplification rules. On the other hand, students with low mathematical ability experienced errors at the reading, transformation, process skill, and encoding stages. Several significant factors contributing to errors made by students in the low-ability category include: (1) errors in interpreting words or terms in the problems, (2) a lack of understanding of probability concepts, (3) insufficient understanding of fraction simplification rules, and (4) inability to conclude the solutions in accordance with the given problems.

Abstract

Abstract: Technological advances in the 21st century have changed various aspects of human life, including education. One of the technological advances can be utilized as a scaffolding for students through YouTube videos. YouTube is the most frequently visited platform by internet users to learn about science. Scaffolding is assistance provided by more experienced people to others to be able to solve problems and reduce them gradually. Therefore, this study aims to explore YouTube videos as effective e-scaffolding in mathematics learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploration type with thematic data analysis techniques. The data sources in this study are YouTube videos with the criteria of a minimum of 1000 viewers (views); (2) at least 50 comments; and at least 100 likes. The results of the study indicate that YouTube videos can assist students to understand and solve the problems given. E-scaffolding in this study is divided into two categories, namely local e-scaffolding and global e-scaffolding. Local e-scaffolding occurs when video content does not present arguments based on intrinsic mathematical properties, such as calculation tricks that are limited to a particular context. In contrast, global e-scaffolding provides assistance supported by arguments based on intrinsic mathematical principles, so that problem-solving strategies are more profound and generally valid.

Abstract

Mathematics is closely related to science because both require the ability to analyze, think logically, and systematically to understand. This study explores students' level of abstraction thinking in understanding the concept of exponent numbers and its implementation in science. This research uses a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were students of the master's program in basic education. The data collection techniques used were tests and interviews. The results showed differences in identifying exponent numbers in low and high abstraction level students. Low abstraction level students perform problem-solving stages, such as identifying and writing down every information listed in the problem, using mathematical symbolization, performing number operations according to problem understanding, and checking again. Meanwhile, high abstraction level students performed problem-solving stages, such as identifying every piece of information in the problem without writing it on the worksheet, not writing the results of their understanding explicitly on the worksheet, not writing explicitly the model to be used, performing number operations without paying attention to the type of number because they already understood and they made a conclusion. Both level students applied the concept of exponent numbers in science for writing units and density.
