Abstract

Despite the growing focus on digital literacy training, there is still little empirical research combining ethnolinguistics with interactive digital storytelling in elementary school. To improve students' cultural literacy, this study proposes and assesses an innovative teaching strategy that integrates ethnolinguistic aspects of farming culture into interactive digital storytelling. Before being used in elementary classrooms, the digital media were created based on the needs analysis and verified by specialists using the design-based research framework ADDIE. Pre- and post-tests and instructor evaluations were used to gauge students' cultural literacy, and the results were analysed quantitatively using normality tests and the Wilcoxon test. The data reveal that the ethnolinguistic-based interactive storytelling greatly increased students’ grasp of local farming culture and their awareness of linguistic diversity, demonstrating meaningful learning gains following the intervention. Student and teacher responses also showed that the video is practical for elementary school students. These results add empirical evidence for the effectiveness of culturally grounded digital storytelling in primary school and show its potential for enhancing ethnolinguistics-informed literacy pedagogy and culturally responsive learning in multilingual contexts.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools faces persistent challenges including low reading interest, writing difficulties, and monotonous conventional methods, necessitating innovative pedagogical interventions. This systematic literature review examines trends, contributions, and research gaps in problem-based learning (PBL)-based interactive media development for elementary Indonesian language learning during 2020-2025. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, four academic databases (Google Scholar, SINTA, Semantic Scholar, ERIC) were systematically searched, yielding 200 initial articles. Through rigorous four-stage screening applying PICOS framework criteria, 30 articles from nationally accredited (SINTA 1-3) and international (Scopus/ERIC-indexed) journals were selected for thematic content analysis.  Analysis revealed progressive evolution from simple digital tools (Wordwall, Kahoot) toward sophisticated multimodal environments (Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality). Ninety percent of studies reported significant improvements in literacy competencies, particularly writing skills (40%) and reading comprehension (30%). ADDIE and 4D development models predominated (66.7%), demonstrating superior methodological rigor. Three distinct research clusters emerged: basic literacy development (2020-2021), critical and digital literacy (2022-2023), and creativity with technological adaptation (2024-2025).  PBL-based interactive media integration effectively operationalizes constructivist learning principles, substantially enhancing student engagement and 21st-century literacy competencies. However, persistent infrastructure limitations, inadequate teacher TPACK competencies, and underrepresentation of speaking skill development constrain optimal implementation, requiring comprehensive policy support and sustained professional development interventions.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar masih menghadapi tantangan berupa rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa, keterbatasan variasi media pembelajaran, dan hasil belajar yang belum optimal sehingga diperlukan pengembangan media interaktif yang dapat menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik serta melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah tren pengembangan media interaktif pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar selama periode 2020–2025. Metode yang digunakan ialah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menganalisis 30 artikel nasional maupun internasional yang diperoleh dari Google Scholar, DOAJ, dan Scopus berdasarkan kesesuaian topik, pendekatan penelitian, serta kontribusi yang diberikan. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa inovasi media interaktif cenderung berfokus pada pemanfaatan teknologi digital, seperti e-book interaktif, flipbook, PowerPoint berbasis multimedia, platform berbasis permainan (Wordwall, Quizizz, Kahoot), aplikasi daring (Nearpod, Genially), serta integrasi teknologi modern seperti Augmented Reality dan gamification. Media tersebut terbukti meningkatkan motivasi belajar, keterampilan literasi, dan hasil belajar secara signifikan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tren penelitian periode 2020–2025 menunjukkan adanya pergeseran dari penggunaan media konvensional menuju media digital interaktif yang bersifat inovatif sekaligus mendukung penguatan literasi digital dan keterampilan abad ke-21.

Abstract

The decline in the effectiveness of the learning process in schools is caused by suboptimal classroom management and a less than optimal work ethic among teachers. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of classroom management and teacher work ethic on the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process in eighth-grade junior high schools. This research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, involving a population of 160 eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Pabelan, divided into 5 learning groups, each containing 32 students. The sample was taken using purposive sampling techniques and Slovin's formula, resulting in a sample size of 128. Data were collected through questionnaires, and the analysis was implemented using multiple linear regression tests. The findings of the study indicate that classroom management and teacher work ethic have a significant impact on the effectiveness of the learning process, both individually and collectively.

Abstract

This study aims to improve reading comprehension of narrative texts and critical thinking skills among fourth-grade elementary students through the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) using Canva media and QuizWhizzer eassessment. The research employs a mixed-method approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 19 students from SD Negeri Winong 01. The learning process follows the five stages of PBL syntax, enhanced with interactive Canva media for narrative text presentations and QuizWhizzer for digital gamebased assessments. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' reading comprehension skills, with the average pretest score increasing from 53.68 to 75.63 in the posttest. A paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of < 0.001, confirming the effectiveness of the learning method. Canva’s visually engaging features facilitated better comprehension of the texts, while QuizWhizzer fostered student engagement during evaluations. This approach not only enhanced students' reading comprehension but also developed their critical thinking skills, providing an interactive, innovative, and modern learning experience tailored to current educational needs.

Abstract

This study analyzes the feasibility of grade 2 Indonesian textbooks, especially the chapter “Maintaining Health,” based on the standards of the Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan (BSNP), the Merdeka Curriculum, and the rules of Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan (EYD). The evaluation includes aspects of content eligibility, language, presentation, and graphic display. The results of the analysis show that this book meets the eligibility standards in the aspects of content and presentation, with curriculum- appropriate material and systematic delivery. The Merdeka curriculum allows the material to be more flexible and contextualized, supporting students' understanding in an applicative manner. However, there are some inaccuracies in the use of spelling and punctuation that require improvement to comply with EYD rules. Display feasibility was rated as excellent with attractive illustrations and a format that complies with educational standards. This study provides recommendations for improvements to increase the effectiveness of books in supporting elementary school students' learning in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and correct Indonesian language rules.

Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa indonesia di sekolah dasar sering menghadapi kendala berupa rendahnya minat baca dan keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang menarik, sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami serta menganalisis unsur intrinsik cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas V dalam menganalisis unsur intrinsik melalui penerapan worksheet book berbasis model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Penelitian menggunakan metode mixed methods dengan desain Concurrent Embedded, melibatkan 18 siswa kelas V SDN Cepoko. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes pretest dan post-test, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui observasi aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran menggunakan worksheet book. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca yang signifikan setelah penggunaan worksheet book berbasis CIRC. Jumlah siswa kategori sangat baik meningkat dari 11% menjadi 44%, sedangkan siswa kategori perlu bimbingan menurun dari 33% menjadi 11%. Observasi juga memperlihatkan bahwa siswa lebih antusias, aktif berdiskusi, bekerja sama dalam kelompok, dan lebih mudah memahami unsur intrinsik melalui aktivitas membaca berpasangan, analisis cerita, story puzzle, serta latihan menulis. Dengan demikian, worksheet book berbasis CIRC terbukti efektif sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan pemahaman unsur intrinsik siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Second-grade students at SD N Lowungu demonstrated low listening skills because the learning process had not utilized engaging, age-appropriate media that could stimulate their interest and support their cognitive development. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Keluargaku Unik audio-visual media based on the Discovery Learning model and to examine its effectiveness in improving students’ listening skills. A mixed-methods approach with a concurrent embedded design was applied, allowing quantitative and qualitative data to be collected simultaneously to produce more comprehensive findings. Learning activities were carried out through six Discovery Learning stages, enabling students to observe scenes from the video, identify important information, formulate explanations, and verify their understanding collaboratively. During implementation, students showed increased curiosity, focus, and willingness to participate in discussions. The results indicated that all students achieved scores above the minimum mastery criterion, with an average score of 92.5. Students were able to retell the story more accurately and provide logical responses to both literal and inferential questions, demonstrating improvement in cognitive processing. Qualitative observations also showed positive behavioral changes, such as improved attention span, better emotional engagement, and more active interaction with peers. Overall, the integration of contextual audio-visual media and Discovery Learning proved effective not only in enhancing listening skills but also in creating meaningful, enjoyable, and student-centered learning experiences for young learners. This study highlights the importance of innovative media in early grade language learning.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of a Scientific Approach–based teaching module supported by Student Worksheets (LKPD) in improving the report-writing skills of third-grade elementary students. The study addresses the low ability of students to organize factual information and produce coherent report texts. Using a mixed-methods convergent parallel design, the research involved 18 students, with quantitative data collected through pretest–posttest and qualitative data through observations, interviews, and student response questionnaires. Results show a substantial improvement, with the mean score increasing from 56.5 to 79.5 and an N-Gain of 0.62 categorized as medium–high, indicating the module’s effectiveness. Qualitative findings reinforce this outcome, revealing that LKPD provided structured guidance that facilitated the implementation of Scientific Approach stages—observing, questioning, data collecting, associating, and communicating—and that most students (88–94%) reported positive experiences, stating that LKPD supported their progression from concrete observation to structured text writing. Overall, the module effectively functions as systematic scaffolding for enhancing both the learning process and the quality of report writing among third-grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model through a student worksheet (LKM) based on the text “Tak Muat Lagi” and to analyze its improvement on fourth-grade students’ listening skills and understanding of transitive–intransitive sentences. Using a mixed-methods approach in a two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 25 students. Data were collected through listening tests, transitive–intransitive sentence tests, observation sheets, student questionnaires, and documentation. The results show an increase in student learning outcomes. In Cycle I, the average score was 72.4 with 64% mastery. After improvements in Cycle II, the average score rose to 86.8 with 92% mastery. Student responses were positive, with 88% finding the learning engaging and easy to understand, and 84% feeling more confident in using transitive and intransitive sentences. Thus, implementing PBL through contextual worksheets effectively improves listening skills and sentence structure mastery.
