Abstract

Early childhood education in Banyuwangi faces challenges in the integration of local culture and the potential of the Ijen Geopark. Around 40% of PAUD institutions implement a curriculum based on local culture. The limited understanding of educators and the lack of exploration activities hinder the use of Geoparks as a learning medium. The lack of community support and facilities in PAUD exacerbates this situation. The purpose of this research is to integrate local culture and the natural potential of the Ijen Geopark in early childhood education in Banyuwangi. This study assesses the challenges and opportunities for the implementation of cultural and environment-based learning. The research methodology uses a qualitative approach based on literature review. This study collected data from journals and relevant documents. The main focus of the research is the challenge in the application of culture-based learning in early childhood education. The results of the study show the importance of integrating contextual learning that links culture and environment in early childhood education in Banyuwangi. The Ijen Geopark offers great potential to enrich children's learning experience through direct interaction with nature and local culture. By utilizing a context-based learning approach, children can understand the environmental and cultural values that exist around them. An effective learning process requires a connection between new knowledge and the social context that the child recognizes, so that the learning experience gained becomes more profound and meaningful. The conclusion of the study shows that Early Childhood education in Banyuwangi faces challenges in the low implementation of the local culture-based curriculum, understanding of the Ijen Geopark, and limited facilities. Training, infrastructure upgrades, and collaboration are required for solutions.

Abstract

As time goes by, temperatures in Indonesia have increased quite drastically. According to daily BMKG data, the average temperature in Banyuwangi Regency is between 240C – 330C (BMKG, 2023). Installing an air conditioner (AC) is considered very necessary to obtain a comfortable temperature in the body. There are several methods to get the right AC capacity (PK) according to the size of the room. The data collection method for this research was carried out by measuring and observing each room in the Banyuwangi State Polytechnic Integrated Lecture Building. When measuring, the data taken includes the length and width of the room. Then proceed with observing the type of AC installed in the room and then analyzing it with the technical specifications used. By comparing the name of the plate with the measurement results, it can be seen that all rooms comply with the AC capacity installation standards. In the Poliwangi Integrated Lecture Building, the indoor AC uses a Cassette type AC, where the AC is installed on the ceiling. The AC system used in the GKT Poliwangi building uses a VRF AC system using single channel ducting. The object of measurement includes the length and width of the room and then multiplied by 500 (the value of 500 is obtained from the average height of the room not exceeding 5 meters). VRF AC cleaning maintenance efforts are usually carried out every 3-6 months.

Abstract

Modernity is an inevitable reality and part of the natural order (sunnatullah) that must be accepted and addressed by every society, including the Muslim community. This article examines the response of Islamic thought to the challenges of modernity, particularly in the context of Indonesia. It argues that Islam, as both a religion and a cultural system, offers its own framework for engaging with modern developments. Various Islamic thinkers have contributed significantly to shaping this discourse. Prominent figures from the Middle East such as Sayyid Qutb, Hasan al-Banna, Khomeini, Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, Mohammed Arkoun, and Hassan Hanafi have influenced global Islamic thought. In Indonesia, the development of Islamic ideas in response to modernity is reflected in the works of intellectuals such as Nurcholish Madjid, Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), and Ulil Abshar Abdalla. This paper focuses on the evolution of Islamic liberalism in Indonesia as a contextual response to modernity, highlighting how local Islamic thought seeks to reconcile faith with contemporary realities.

Abstract

The Quran and Hadiths specify rightful recipients of Zawil Furudl inheritance, creating a loophole for substitute heirs. Islamic scholars debate the concept of successor inheritance. This study explores substitute heirs and their status as alternate beneficiaries in Aceh's Sharia Court. The Aceh community rejects substitute heirs due to classical philosophy requiring the successor to be alive at the original heir's death. Despite not being present in fiqh and adat literature, substitute heirs are recognized in the Shariah Court under Article 185 of the Indonesian Compilation of Islamic Law. This recognition aligns with the objectives of Islamic law for justice and benefit. Legal pluralism allows for this practice, emphasizing harmonization between legal systems

Abstract

Education is an urgent thing for human life. For that education has a primary position in human life. But in the context of education is perceived as a tool to gain wealth and power. His soul and heart were filled with worldly hopes. The existence of existing education no longer leads man to discover who his Lord is, but directed at the gods that are material (new idols). Therefore, Islamic education should be understood as one of the right concepts to restore human relations with God. The concept of Islamic education is an appropriate means to restore humans to their primordial relation with God. The concept of Islamic education in line with national education as set forth in the 1945 Constitution and the National Education System Law no. 20 year 2003. Is an education system that comes from a single paradigm that is the concept of Oneness of God. Islamic education introduces "Tauhid", the philosophy of the state also embraces the concept of monotheism in the first principle of Belief in the One Supreme. From this single paradigm can then be drawn the conclusion that Islamic education is the only concept of education that can restore man to God.

Abstract

The Teaching Campus Program, as part of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka policy, has been successfully implemented to expand opportunities for students to contribute to improving education management. The program's success is supported by the role of Supervising Lecturers, who provide guidance through consultation, assistance, and facilitation. This method enables effective coordination with all education stakeholders, both at the government and school levels. Supervising Lecturers also act as facilitators, educators, and representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), including mediating with schools. Through this mentoring, students can function as educators and education support staff, facilitating learning processes akin to permanent teachers and managing administrative, library, and school culture empowerment tasks at their assigned schools. The program demonstrates a significant impact in strengthening the education ecosystem through collaboration among students, lecturers, and schools.

Abstract

The growing accumulation of polyethylene (PE) plastic waste poses a significant environmental challenge, necessitating effective recycling and waste management solutions. Thermal pyrolysis has emerged as a promising method for converting plastic waste into valuable hydrocarbons. This study presents a comparative analysis of catalyst efficiency in the thermal pyrolysis of PE waste, with a focus on maximizing product yield and optimizing chemical composition. Various catalysts were evaluated to assess their impact on the degradation process, product distribution, and overall conversion efficiency. The research utilized 100 grams of PE waste in the form of 2 cm pellets. The catalysts tested—activated carbon, HZSM-5, and low-rank coal (LRC)—were each added at 10% of the plastic's weight. The experiments were conducted under varying conditions of time (30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 minutes) and temperature (350, 450, 550, and 650°C). The thermal pyrolysis setup included an integrated furnace with glass column fractionation and four trays for collecting liquid pyrolysis products. Key parameters such as total yield, °API and calorific value were analyzed and compared to those of conventional fuel oil. The results demonstrated that the LRC catalyst outperformed both activated carbon and HZSM-5, achieving a yield of 61.10% at 650°C for 180 minutes. The pyrolysis product obtained using the LRC catalyst exhibited properties—such as °API and calorific value—comparable to those of conventional gasoline. This study highlights the potential of catalytic pyrolysis in managing plastic waste effectively, offering a viable approach to reducing plastic pollution while producing valuable hydrocarbon products. The findings underscore the importance of catalyst selection in optimizing pyrolysis outcomes, providing valuable insights for sustainable plastic waste management
