Abstract

Textbook is a medium that helps teachers plan teaching and learning activities. In other words, it does not take much time to create teaching materials for lessons. In addition, students can participate in different activities depending on what they need to learn. This research aimed to find out the students’ perception on the use of English textbook for EFL Learning in the Islamic Secondary School. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 10 students of class VIII, who were randomly selected from MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya. The interviews were recorded and transcribed, and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis. This research result showed that students generally had positive perceptions of their English textbook. Almost all students felt motivated to learn if the textbook provided interactive problem exercises and case studies that were relevant to real life.

Abstract

The Indonesian industry still relies heavily on gelatin imports from countries such as Brazil, India, China, Thailand, and the United States. Unfortunately, the majority of this imported gelatin is made from pigskin, which is haram for Muslims, the majority of Indonesia's population. The use of fish waste for gelatin production is rooted in the need to maximize the utilization of fishery resources and reduce the environmental impact of fishing industry waste. The fishing industry produces abundant waste, mainly in the form of fish bones, skin and scales. Gelatin is widely used for glue manufacturing, cosmetic products, emulsifiers in the food industry, and pharmaceutical products. Gelatin from fish scales can be used as a formulation ingredient in food products such as syrup thickeners, jelly candy, confectionery, ice cream and noodle chewers.

Abstract

The entrepreneurship ratio is a crucial indicator in assessing a region's economic capacity and independence. West Lampung Regency currently shows a low entrepreneurship ratio, largely due to the dominance of micro-enterprises and the suboptimal competitiveness of MSMEs in the robusta coffee processing sector—a flagship commodity of the region. This paper aims to formulate policies to enhance the entrepreneurship ratio by improving the competitiveness of coffee-based MSMEs. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through FGDs, literature studies, and policy analysis, the main issue identified was the lack of implementation of processing and marketing standards among most coffee MSMEs. As a result, a policy recommendation has been proposed: the formulation of a Regent Regulation on the Standardization of Robusta Coffee Processing and Marketing, which was deemed the most feasible according to Bardach's four policy criteria (technical, financial, political, and administrative). This policy is expected to improve the quality and market reach of local coffee, encourage business scaling, increase employment, and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem through synergy with gastronomy-based tourism. With the right policies, West Lampung Regency's entrepreneurship ratio has the potential to improve significantly and sustainably.

Abstract

Abstract: Face detection remains a challenging task in computer vision due to real-world factors such as uneven lighting, varying viewpoints, distance, and occlusion. This study aims to develop and evaluate a real-time facial feature detection application (detecting face, eyes, nose, and mouth) using MATLAB and a webcam. Detection is performed using the Viola-Jones Cascade Classifier method through the vision.CascadeObjectDetector function. Key parameters that were adjusted include the MergeThreshold (ranging from 4 to 50 depending on the feature) and MinSize (based on estimated feature size within the frame). However, this study does not include tuning of other parameters such as FalseAlarmRate, which constitutes a limitation of the employed method. The adjustment of these parameters proved significant in improving detection accuracy and robustness under varying lighting conditions. Nevertheless, the system still encounters difficulties in detecting facial features in the presence of occlusion. This study also has the potential to serve as a foundation for further developments in face recognition, emotion detection, or biometric authentication.            Keywords: computer vision; haar cascade; MATLAB Abstrak: Deteksi wajah merupakan tantangan dalam visi komputer karena dipengaruhi oleh kondisi nyata seperti pencahayaan tidak merata, sudut pandang, jarak, dan obstruksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji aplikasi deteksi fitur wajah secara real-time (wajah, mata, hidung, dan mulut) menggunakan MATLAB dan kamera webcam. Deteksi dilakukan dengan metode Viola-Jones Cascade Classifier melalui fungsi vision.CascadeObjectDetector. Parameter penting yang disesuaikan adalah MergeThreshold (antara 4 hingga 50 tergantung fitur), MinSize (mengikuti estimasi ukuran fitur dalam frame). Namun, penelitian ini tidak mencakup penyesuaian parameter lain seperti FalseAlarmRate, yang menjadi salah satu keterbatasan metode yang digunakan. Penyesuaian parameter ini terbukti signifikan dalam meningkatkan akurasi deteksi dan ketahanan terhadap variasi kondisi pencahayaan. Namun, sistem masih mengalami kesulitan mendeteksi fitur wajah jika terjadi obstruksi. Penelitian ini juga berpotensi menjadi dasar untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam face recognition, emotion detection, atau biometric authentication.  Kata kunci: visi computer; haar cascade; MATLAB

Abstract

The digital revolution in global health presents great opportunities and challenges through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), big data and telemedicine. However, the absence of a transcendent ethical foundation in the development of medical technology risks undermining human values and justice. This study aims to critically examine the direction of digital health development by integrating the ethical and spiritual values of the Qur'an. The method used is a critical qualitative approach based on library research, with normative analysis of verses related to health principles, information ethics, and maqāṣid al-syarī'ah. The results of the study show that in QS. Al-Isrā': 70 emphasizes human dignity as the basis for medical data protection; likewise in QS. Al-Syu'arā': 80 emphasizes that healing is divine and should not be separated from spiritual values; while in QS. Al-Baqarah: 286 provides guidance on the limits of responsibility and human capabilities in the utilization of technology. The critical discussion underlines the importance of building Qur'anic-based digital ethics that emphasize justice ('adālah), trustworthiness, and compassion (raḥmah) in designing equitable and inclusive artificial intelligence (AI) systems and remote health services. It is hoped that this study will provide recommendations for the development of Qur'anic Digital Ethics as a future normative framework for global digital health innovation.

Abstract

Pada dasarnya setiap manusia membutuhkan pelayanan. Manusia tidak dapat dipisahkan dari pelayanan, karena dalam rangka mempertahankan dan memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya. Pelayanan yang dibutuhkan manusia pada dasarnya ada dua jenis, yaitu layanan fisik yang bersifat pribadi sebagai manusia dan layanan administratif yang diberikan orang lain selaku anggota organisasi, baik itu organisasi massa atau Negara. Adanya berbagai masalah yang terjadi dalam pelayanan administrasi, maka penting untuk melihat bagaimana pelayanan publik pemerintah agar sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan masyarakat. Terdapat tiga permasalahan utama yang berkaitan dengan tata kelola pelayanan administrasi. Ketiga permasalahan tersebut dilihat dari tingkat kedisiplinan pegawai, yaitu: masalah absensi, kehadiran, serta pemakaian seragam dinas. Kemudian aturan jam kerja belum dipatuhi secara maksimal, sehingga menyebabkan terhambatnya proses penyelenggaraan pelayanan administrasi yang efektif dan efisien. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk: (1) Untuk mengetahui Sistem Pelayanan Administrasi Kepegawaian pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Gampong Aceh. (2) Untuk mengetahui apa saja hambatan dalam penyelengaraan Pelayanan Administrasi Kepegawaian pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Gampong Aceh. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif analitik. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan kehandalan pada pelayanan administrasi kepegawaian telah berjalan dengan baik. Daya tanggap pada pelayanan administrasi kepegawaian tergolong baik. Hambatan administratif tidak menjadi hambatan bagi palayanan administrasi kepegawaian, namun akan lebih baik lagi apabila anggaran untuk bidang palayanan administrasi kepegawaian dlingkungan Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Gampong Aceh ditingkatkan. Hambatan politis tidak menjadi hambatan bagi palayanan administrasi kepegawaian di lingkungan Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Gampong Aceh.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the correlation between ERVM scores and the levels of estrogen and progesterone in Aceh cows during estrus.This study utilized 8 clinically healthy Aceh cows aged 3-5 years. ERVM scores were determined using a DraminskiTMestrus detector probe insertedinto the vagina on the first day of estrus. Estrogen and progesterone concentrations were measured in blood samples collected on the first day of estrususing the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Data on the correlation between ERVM scores and the levels of estrogen andprogesterone concentrations were analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. The results showed that the average ERVM score during the estrusphase was 192.9216.94 , and the average concentrations of estrogen and progesterone were 103.1344.86 pg/mL and 0.960.60 ng/mL,respectively. Correlation analysis revealed that coefficient correlation (r) values between EVRM and estrogen was -0.607 and with progesterone was-0.149. In conclusion, the ERVM score in Aceh cattle indicates moderate estrus, and the ERVM score obtained in this study is negatively correlatedwith estrogen and progesterone concentrations.

Abstract

Pengucapan frasa dan kalimat bahasa Inggris seringkali dianggap sulit oleh banyak siswa di Indonesia. Perbedaan fonetik antara bahasa ibu dan bahasa Inggris menjadi salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan siswa mengalami kesulitan pengucapan frasa dan kalimat bahasa Inggris. Teknik pembelajaran yang menarik dan tepat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pengucapan frasa dan kalimat bahasa Inggris siswa. Hal ini yang mendasari pentingnya pelaksanaan pelatihan pengucapan frasa dan kalimat bahasa Inggris bahasa Inggris bagi anak-anak Panti Asuhan Al Mim Palangkaraya menggunakan teknik Tongue Twister. Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pengucapan frasa dan kalimat bahasa Inggris anak-anak Panti Asuhan Al Mim Palangkaraya menggunakan teknik Tongue Twister. Sepuluh orang anak asuh Panti Asuhan Al Mim Palangkaraya adalah peserta pelatihan dan satu orang instruktur mendampingi. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dalam waktu satu hari. Hasil pelatihan menunjukan bahwa teknik Tongue Twister berdampak positif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pengucapan frasa dan kalimat bahasa Inggris peserta pelatihan

Abstract

Background and Aim: Canine ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis are significant tick-borne diseases with global distribution and high clinical relevance in veterinary medicine. This case report presents a ten-year-old male Fila Brasileiro dog exhibiting clinical signs of anorexia and lethargy for three consecutive days.Materials and Methods: Physical examination revealed fever (40.3 C), pale mucous membranes, and a body condition score of 3/5. A complete blood count (CBC) showed leukocytosis, neutrophilia, eosinophilia, microcytic anemia, and thrombocytopenia. Further confirmation using a SNAP 4Dx rapid test detected antibodies against Ehrlichia spp. and Anaplasma spp., leading to a definitive diagnosis of ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis. Treatment involved fluid therapy using intravenous 0.9% sodium chloride and doxycycline at a dose of 250 mg per day for 21 days.Results : The hematological findings align with typical abnormalities observed in dogs with these infections, including reduced erythrocyte and platelet counts, which are associated with immune-mediated destruction and bone marrow suppression. These pathogens also alter neutrophil function to evade the host immune response, contributing to prolonged inflammation and disease progression. The hematological profile presented here demonstrates a rare combination of microcytic anemia and eosinophilia, which may suggest an atypical host immune response not commonly described in previous literature.Conclusion: This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis through hematological and serological examinations and emphasizes the need for routine tick prevention to reduce the risk of tick-borne diseases in dogs.
