Abstract

The objective of this descriptive qualitative study is to describe students' proportional reasoning ability in solving each type of proportional problem, namely missing-value problem, numerical comparison problem, and qualitative comparison problem. A non-proportional problem was also included in this study to assess students' ability in one of the indicators used to measure proportional reasoning ability. The instrument used in this study consists of mathematical word problems on the proportion concept. The participants involved nine eighth-grade students, who were chosen from a total of 49 eighth-grade students at a school in Bandung City. These students were selected using a technique known as purposive sampling, by looking at the answers of students who best represent the answers of other students. The gathered data were analyzed using content analysis and narrative analysis techniques. According to the results, students appeared to have difficulty solving proportional problems of all types using proportional reasoning. Students are still struggling with distinguishing between proportional and non-proportional situations, as well as direct and inverse proportions. Furthermore, students often encounter difficulties when attempting to solve numerical comparison and qualitative comparison problems. This might be a consequence of students' lack of experience in solving these types of problems. Another tendency is the use of the cross-multiplication algorithm in solving missing-value problems without knowing the purpose of using the algorithm.

Abstract

By using bibliometric analysis with Biblioshiny and computational mapping with VOSviewer, the purpose of this investigation is to investigate the evolution of research on didactic design in primary schools. In order to obtain data from the Dimension software, which served as a reference manager, we searched the titles and abstracts of papers for the terms "didactical design" and "primary school." The search was conducted on March 3, and it turned up 110 documents that matched the criteria and had a publishing range of 2016 to 2023. Articles and proceedings were found to be the sources that were referred to the most frequently, with a total of 18,094 citations and an average of 18.11 citations per article. The average h-index and g-index for all articles were 61 and 109, respectively. Additionally, the data from the findings show that research on didactic design in elementary schools has been widely conducted and is continuing to increase, indicating that it has a good chance of being associated with other significant terms in the years to come, both in the current year and in the future.

Abstract

Physical fitness is one of the most important aspects to improve sports performance. However, currently extracurricular at school is that there is no clear planning, goals and objectives for conducting physical fitness tests. This study aims to compare the level of extracurricular physical fitness of basketball and futsal. This research method uses a quantitative approach through a survey where the researcher gives tests and measurements to basketball and futsal extracurricular students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling so that a sample of 40 students consisted of 20 extracurricular basketball students and 20 futsal students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Pontianak. The research instrument is the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI) aged 13-15 years. The research was conducted on 19-25 February 2021. Data analysis used descriptive percentage, assisted by using Microsoft Excel software application. The results of the physical fitness test showed an average difference of 2.5, so there was a significant difference between basketball extracurricular students and futsal extracurricular students. This needs to be considered and taken into account by coaches and sports teachers in providing training programs to students. Based on the results of this study, it can be interpreted that basketball extracurricular has a good contribution compared to futsal extracurricular for students' physical fitness.
