Abstract

The issue, the significance of student self-efficacy in the learning process, is what inspired this study. This study set out to identify and characterize students’ self-efficacy capacities for studying the social arithmetic topic in light of their unique traits. This research is descriptive research through questionnaire analysis using percentages. A self-efficacy questionnaire plus a questionnaire for students’ responses make up the tool used to assess self-efficacy abilities. In this study, the data were collected and evaluated using a Likert attitude scale to determine whether students’ self-efficacy in studying the social arithmetic topic had increased. The scale in this self-efficacy contains three components, namely students’ assessment of: i) the level of task difficulty (magnitude); ii) the variety of tasks (generality); and iii) the degree of stability in completing a task (strength) in social arithmetic topic. The conclusion obtained in this study related to self-efficacy in mathematics is that it can be seen as a whole in learning social arithmetic topic showing that there are 79.05% of students giving a positive response, meaning that almost all students assess themselves positively when learning social arithmetic topic.

Abstract

Mathematics is still seen as a non-cultural subject. Mathematics and culture are two aspects that have a strong relationship. Culture provides a natural means for students to access a framework for conceptual understanding in mathematics. One of the important cultural objects in Indonesia is the Phinisi. The phinisi is a traditional wooden ship originating from Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi province which is recorded as a world cultural heritage. This study explores the concept of ethnomathematics geometry on phinisi ships. The method used in this research is an exploratory-descriptive method through an ethnographic approach to explain and analyze the ethnomathematical concepts of geometry on the components of the phinisi. Research data were collected through a literature review, direct observation of the shape and process of making phinisi, and interviews with expert phinisi shipbuilders. The results showed that there are geometric ethnomathematical concepts in the form of flat shapes and spatial shapes on several phinisi components. This ethnomathematical concept is relevant to the formal mathematical concepts learned in school so it has the potential to be a source of learning mathematics.

Abstract

Penyusunan artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis mahasiswa PGSD yang akan mempengaruhi kompetensi mereka saat kelak menjadi seorang guru SD. Calon guru berkemampuan tinggi mampu memenuhi semua indikator literasi matematis yang ada pada masalah, maka dari itu perlu ditinjau dari segi psikologi kognitifnya. Fokus bahasan pada keterlibatan aktif mahasiswa dengan matematika untuk memecahkan masalah dunia nyata dalam berbagai konteks, dan dimaksudkan untuk mencakup penalaran matematika (deduktif dan induktif) dan pemecahan masalah menggunakan konsep matematika, prosedur, fakta dan alat untuk menggambarkan, menjelaskan dan memprediksi fenomena. Ditinjau dari psikologi perkembangan kognitifnya, ini bersesuaian dengan istilah skema yang dipergunakan oleh Piaget salah satunya teori skemata. Pengetahuan yang dimiliki oleh pembaca akan mempengaruhi tidak saja apa yang pembaca ingat dari membaca tetapi juga pemahaman terhadap teks. Pengetahuan tersebut dibangun dari pengalaman sebelummnya berdasarkan pengalaman dan ini sejalan dengan penalaran dalam literasi matematis. Hal ini bermakna bahwa ketika pembaca memproses teks, pembaca mengintegrasikan informasi-informasi baru kedalam skemata yang telah mereka miliki. Lebih dari itu skemata mereka juga mempengaruhi bagaimana pembaca menguasai informasi demikian juga bagaimana mereka menyimpan informasi itu.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji kemampuan pemahaman dan penalaran matematis santri melalui metode kooperatif tipe Teams-Games-Tournament (TGT). Kuasi eksperimen dengan pretest-postest control group design ini melibatkan sampel salah satu Madrasah Tsanawiyah berbasis pesantren di Tangerang. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji Lilliefors, uji Levene’s, dan independent samples t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan penalaran kelas yang diberikan perlakuan lebih baik dari pada kelas yang mendapat pembelajaran biasa, Namun, pada kelas putra tidak berbeda secara signifikan untuk kemampuan penalaran matematisnya. Sedangkan pada analisis gain, kemampuan pemahaman dan penalaran matematis kelas putra dan kelas putri yang mendapat pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT tidak berbeda secara signifikan. Abstract: This study discuss the student’s mathematics cognitive ability through the cooperative method of Teams-Games-Tournaments (TGT). This quasi experiment with pretest-postest control group design involves one of pesantren based Islamic school in Tangerang as the sample. The data were analyzed using lilliefors test, Levene’s test, and independent samples t-test. The research showed improvement the ability of the experiment-class which is better than control-class. But, male class did not show any significant difference in term of their mathematical reasoning ability. Otherwise in gain analysis, the mathematical reasoning and understanding ability between male and female class who get cooperative learning TGT type did not show any significant difference.

Abstract

Teknologi dapat memfasilitasi siswa dalam mempelajari mata pelajaran yang sulit seperti matematika. Pemahaman limit penting untuk mempelajari materi kalkulus lainnya seperti turunan dan integral. Di perguruan tinggi, mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari konsep limit fungsi. Oleh sebab itu, beberapa penelitian mengkaji bagaimana pemanfaatan teknologi untuk membantu mahasiswa dalam mempelajari limit. Penelitian ini diawali dengan penentuan 4 rumusan masalah (RM) yaitu: 1) Alat teknologi apa yang digunakan untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran limit fungsi? 2) Alat teknologi apa yang paling sering dijadikan acuan? 3) Bagaimana alat teknologi dapat membantu siswa mempelajari konsep limit fungsi? 4) Bagaimana contoh visualisasi alat teknologi dalam mempelajari konsep limit fungsi?. Penelitian ini menggunakan systematic literature review (SLR) yang menggunakan protokol PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) untuk memilih artikel melalui database Google Scholar periode 2013-2023. Protokol PRISMA berisi empat tahapan yaitu identification, screening, eliglibility, dan include. Dari 36 artkel yang tersaring, hanya ada 7 artikel yang dikaji lebih mendalam untuk menjawab ke 4 RM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah penelitian tentang limit fungsi dan pemanfaatan teknologi tidak banyak. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan banyaknya artikel yang tersaring hanya 36 artikel. Hanya 7 artikel yang akhirnya terpilih, diantaranya ada 4 artikel yang menggunakan GeoGebra, 1 Maple, 1 video dan audio recorder, dan 1 artikel tidak menyebutkan alat teknologi yang digunakan. Sehingga kesimpulan GeoGebra adalah software yang paling sering dijadikan acuan dalam memvisualisasi konsep limit. Kata Kunci: Limit fungsi; teknologi; systematic literature review (SLR); PRISMA

Abstract

Perlu dikembangkan model pembelajaran matematika di pesantren yang dikaitkan dengan permasalahan yang sesuai dengan situasi di pondok pesantren, misalnya terkait dengan fiqh. Penelitian ini menggunakan Design Didactical Research (DDR). Pengembangan desain didaktis ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Theory of Didactical Situation (TDS). Pembelajaran matematika di pesantren dirancang sebagai berikut: pembacaan ayat suci Al-Qur'an dan Hadits terkait materi pembelajaran matematika; materi dan tujuan pembelajaran yang terkait dengan ilmu keislaman; dan memberikan gambaran tentang manfaat mempelajari materi yang akan dipelajari dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama ketika nantinya menjadi kader ulama. Pengembangan desain didaktis didasarkan pada teori situasi didaktis, yaitu: Situasi Devolusi, santri diberikan tantangan untuk menyelesaikan masalah zakat dan waris; Situasi Matematis, santri yang belum mampu menyelesaikan tantangan utama dibimbing melalui soal, tabel, dan petunjuk. Demikian pula santri yang sudah memiliki tebakan pemecahan masalah terus melakukan langkah-langkah untuk menguji keabsahan asumsi tersebut dengan menjawab beberapa pertanyaan, memperhatikan tabel, dan melaksanakan instruksi; Situasi Kelembagaan, santri membuat kesimpulan dengan bimbingan guru tentang poin-poin penting. It is necessary to develop a mathematics learning model in pesantren that is associated with problems that are following the situation in the Islamic boarding school, for example, related to fiqh. This study used Design Didactical Research (DDR). The development of this didactic design was carried out using the Theory of Didactical Situation (TDS). The learning mathematics in pesantren is designed as follows: reading of the holy verses of Al-Qur'an and Hadith related to mathematics learning materials; the material and learning objectives associated with Islamic knowledge; and giving an overview of the benefits of studying the material to be studied in everyday life, especially when later becoming a cadre of the ulama. Didactic design development is based on the theory of didactic situation, namely: In the case of Devolution, santri are given the challenge of solving zakat and inheritance problems; in Mathematical Situations, santri who have not been able to complete the main difficulties are guided through questions, tables, and instructions. Likewise, santri, who already has problem-solving guesses, continues to test the validity of these assumptions by answering several questions, paying attention to tables, and carrying out instructions; 3) Situation of Institutionalization, santri makes conclusions with teacher guidance about essential points.

Abstract

Vector is one of the most important subjects in mathematics, but many students face difficulties in learning vector. To find out the cause, this study is conducted to find the differences and similarities in learning opportunities presented in the vector tasks from Indonesian and Singaporean mathematics textbooks. Therefore, vector tasks from the two books are compared with the aspects of representations, contextuality, and response types. Firstly, this study finds out that the chosen Indonesian textbook provides fewer learning opportunities than the chosen Singaporean textbook in terms of vector tasks. Secondly, this study also finds out that the Indonesian textbook tends to present tasks in visual representation, while the Singaporean textbook tends to present tasks in pure mathematics form. Thirdly, this study also finds out that Indonesian textbook usually uses applicative tasks that correlate with real-life situations, while the Singaporean textbook does the otherwise. Lastly, this study also finds out that both textbooks mostly use close-ended tasks.

Abstract

Child development needs to be monitored as early as possible, as it can contribute to subsequent development. This article conducts a thorough literature review to explain the inhibiting factors that impact on child development, especially motor development in early childhood. Where motor development at an early age is a major milestone for subsequent motor development. This study aims to review scientific literature on inhibiting factors in motor development for early childhood. The database search used ScienceDirect to select articles containing information on motor development in early childhood. The search was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. After the exclusion criteria were met, 13 articles were categorized. In the first group, there were factors that inhibit development in children, such as premature birth, congenital heart disease, and sleeping habits can inhibit motor development in early childhood. The results in the second group informed that the lack of nutritional intake and breastfeeding, as well as the provision of sugary foods can have a negative impact on child development, especially gross motor development. The results of the third group explained that environmental factors, forms of play, and parental knowledge can affect motor development in children, especially fundamental motor skills. Therefore, it is important to have a basic knowledge of the factors that can hinder children's development and the supporting factors that can improve children's development according to their age.

Abstract

Kondisi saat ini menunjukkan masih banyak tulisan anak berbentuk tulisan coretan dan posisi tangan anak memegang pensil yang masih kaku. Permasalahan ini didasari dari cara memegang pensil dengan postur yang salah, maka akan berdampak pada salah postur jari jemari, bahkan membuat anak tidak nyaman dalam menulis sehingga menyebabkan anak tidak mau belajar menulis. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini fokus menstimulasi kemampuan menulis menggunakan holder writing tool edutainment di PAUD Al-Ikhlas Kota Bengkulu dengan sasaran para guru-guru dan anak usia dini. Tujuan pengabdian menstimulasi perkembangan menulis permulaan anak usia dini. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah technical assistance dalam bentuk edukasi berupa penyuluhan dan pendampingan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan diantaranya: 1) Perencanaan diawali dengan pembentukkan dan pembekalan tim, 2) Persiapan menentukan jadwal, pembelian peralatan, bahan penunjang dan pembinaan, 3) Pelaksanaan dengan memberikan edukasi pembinaan, pendampingan (diskusi dan praktek), penguatan (praktek), 4) Implementasi penerapan holder writing tool edutainment kepada anak usia dini. Hasil pengabdian berupa penerapan beberapa aktivitas holder writing tool edutainment yang dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan diantaranya 1) Menstimulasi holder writing tool edutainment melalui pengungkapan  pikiran dan perasaan dalam bentuk gambar, 2) Menstimulasi holder writing tool edutainment melalui pengungkapan pikiran dan perasaan dalam bentuk lambang, 3) Menstimulasi holder writing tool edutainment melalui pengungkapan  pikiran dan perasaan dalam bentuk kata. Kegiatan ini diupload di youtube dan diliput media online https://www.muaranews.com.

Abstract

Preparing qualified teacher candidates also helps to create a sustainable education system, therefore, the preparation of teacher candidates should be a priority for any education system that wants to achieve success and sustainability. Some research on prospective mathematics teachers has developed rapidly. This study aims to investigate: 1) what is the performance analysis of publication and citation-related metrics and their trends from pre-service teacher mathematics studies, and 2) what is the science mapping and network analysis of citation analysis, authorship partner analysis, and word partner analysis from pre-service teacher mathematics studies. A research method is a bibliometric approach using the Scopus database with two search keywords namely "pre-service teacher" and "mathematics concepts". A total of 181 documents related to the two keywords were distributed in the range of 2017-2022. Data analysis was done by performance analysis, science mapping, and network analysis using Publish or Perish and VOSviewer software. The results showed that publications related to the study of "pre-service teacher mathematics" with 337 citations from 118 documents. Research on "pre-service teacher" and "mathematics concepts" has grown rapidly in the last five years, Visualization Network co-authorship emergence is Suryadi from Indonesia. While the occurrence of keywords (co-occurrence) often appears among others teacher knowledge, concept map, professional development, stem education, and content mathematics. but there is still a gap for us to make new research as a development of previous research in the development of quality pre-service mathematics teachers.
