However, when there is no good time management of smartphone usage, students may experience technostress. Regarding this issue, this study strived to examine the effectiveness of group counseling with SFBC and mindfulness training group approaches to reduce the technostress of students who use smartphone. In its implementation, there were 14 students chosen using random assignment as the samples and divided into two groups with each group consisted of 7 students. For the method, this study used experimental method with randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design. Students’ technostress data were collected using technostress scale and analyzed through Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test and Mann Whitney. It was found that: 1) the group counseling with SFBC approach successfully reduced the students’ technostress in the SFBC experimental group. 2) Mindfulness training group made it to reduce the students’ technostress in mindfulness training group experimental group. 3) the intervention in the SFCB experimental group appeared to be more effective to reduce the technostress of students who use smartphone compared to the mindfulness training group. Thus, it is recommended to apply the group counseling with SFBC approach to reduce the technostress of students who use smartphone.

The CLIS model can be used as an alternative learning model in teaching science because it contains constructivist learning elements that lead to meaningful learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the constructivist learning model using Children Learning In Science (CLIS) type in improving student learning outcomes. This study used a quasi-experimental method. The sample was taken using a random cluster technique were students of grade V SDN 2 Patikraja as the control class and students of grade V SDN 1 Notog as the experimental class. The data analysis used was a one-sample proportion test, N-Gain analysis, and independent-sample t-test. The results show that the use of the CLIS constructivist learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes compared to learning with the expository method. This is evidenced by the increase in student scores before and after the implementation of the CLIS constructivist learning model is in the medium category, students in experimental class achieve classical completeness >75%, and the average learning outcomes of the experimental class is higher than the control class, as well as students shows positive responses. So this research can be helpful for the students and the teachers in learning sains.

Abstract

Career planning is a process that needs to be prepared to achieve career goals. However, since many students have not been able to determine their goals, they often fail in making career decision and planning. Thus, the current study was done to describe Senior High School students’ needs for a blended learning-based career information service model. It was conducted by having a qualitative survey design with Focused Group Discussion (FGD) method participated by 10 Guidance and Counseling teachers through MGBK or Guidance and Counseling Teacher Forum in Demak Regency and career planning scale distributed to 150 students to obtain the descriptive data. After the analysis, it was found that student’s career planning ability is categorized low and counselors experience some difficulties in sharing career information, particularly in terms of available time and method. In this way, career information content developers are suggested to provide digital content of career information so that students can access it outside school hours.
