Abstract

Recent research data shows that adolescents experience poor emotional conditions. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of interventions to improve students' emotional regulation at SMAN 10 Padang. The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and a time series design. The research respondents were nine students of SMAN 10 Padang in the 2025/2026 academic year, selected using purposive sampling. Research data were collected using the Student Emotional Regulation Scale, which was compiled based on the Likert scale model. The data were analyzed descriptively, followed by a Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test using SPSS 24.0 for Windows to see the changes before and after the treatment was given, and then using the N-Gain Score to determine the effectiveness of the treatment. The results showed that agentic group guidance using the Socratic dialogue technique was effective in improving adolescents' emotional regulation through a reflective approach, social support, and self-confidence reinforcement, so it can be recommended as a sustainable emotional learning strategy in schools. The test results showed that agentic group counseling using the Socratic dialogue technique had an average N-Gain of 0.64. This means that the implementation of agentic group counseling using the Socratic dialogue technique to improve students' emotional regulation at SMA Negeri 10 Padang was quite effective.

Abstract

It’s influence on adolescent career development in a collectivist context, but only a few studies have succeeded in integrating these variables, namely parenting style, influence, identity. This article aims to analyze relevant research to determine parenting style, influence, identity in career choice-collectivism theory. This research is descriptive research with a systematic literature review (SLR) method. Literature data was obtained from several pages such as Google Scholar, Sinta Ristekbrin, and Garuda Ristekbrin. To review the data literature, the main keywords used are "career choice" "career" "Parenting Pattern" "Identity". From the literature that has been reviewed, it is known that parenting style and self-identity help children with career aspects. Overall research shows that the parenting style of parents or teachers at school greatly influences children's conservation choices. Authoritarian parenting styles influence children's thinking styles. It has been proven by several pieces of literature from research results that show that the most common parenting style used by parents is authoritarian parenting. Meanwhile, making career decisions requires broader complex factors, including information about career, talents, self-concept, values and personal interests. This conclusion is supported by differences in research results. Career decisions are usually influenced by broader issues, even when a person's thinking and behavior is influenced by a parent's authoritarian parenting approach. This is because not everyone who was raised in an authoritarian environment is unable to overcome the negative impacts of this parenting style, some people who were raised in an authoritarian environment may show a high level of obedience but still have good career decision-making skills Keywords: Parenting Style, Influence, Identity, Career Choices

Abstract

Phubbing behavior is a phenomenon where individuals ignore their conversation partners in direct interactions because they are too focused on their smartphones. This phubbing behavior is increasingly prevalent and has become a serious concern considering its impact on the quality of social interactions and interpersonal development. The influence of smartphone use makes students careless and insensitive to their surroundings. One factor suspected of contributing to the level of phubbing behavior tendencies is peer conformity. Therefore, this study aims to describe and analyze the relationship between peer conformity and students' phubbing behavior tendencies. This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational research type. The research sample was 208 students using a simple random sampling technique. The instruments used were a peer conformity scale with a reliability level of 0.945 and a student phubbing behavior tendency scale with a reliability level of 0.881. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation with the JASP 0.19.3.0 program for Windows. The findings of this study indicate that the relationship between peer conformity and students' tendency to phubbing behavior is generally in the moderate category with a Spearman correlation coefficient value of 0.400 (ρ < 0.001). The positive correlation results indicate that the higher the peer conformity, the higher the tendency of students to phubbing behavior. This study recommends the need for comprehensive efforts by school counselors and related parties to develop counseling service plans to reduce the tendency of phubbing behavior. Keywords: Peer conformity, phubbing behavior, smartphone, students, counseling

Abstract

Abstract

Readiness is an important factor in the success of the counseling process. In counseling there are several factors that influence the readiness of counselors including; ability/strength of concepts and in giving/receiving information about oneself. Methods in preparing clients: discussing specifically the importance of implementing counseling related to the problems experienced by clients, motivating clients to seek/contact institutions/agents that can provide assistance related to the problems experienced, make referrals/handover cases when the problems encountered require expert assistance specifically, providing information related to the client's problems, motivating the client to attend "education" specifically and intensifying the problem. In the medical world, diagnosis means finding a hypothesis from the observed symptoms, not much different from that understanding, diagnosis in counseling aims to make a temporary hypothesis about the problems experienced by the client. This can be observed through the behavior, expressions, client explanations of the problems experienced. With the hypothesis, the counselor can more easily explore the client so as to find the right technique/method in alleviating the client's problems and directing the client's independence

Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out how transference is in the counseling process, to obtain data regarding this purpose, the researcher uses a qualitative method with a descriptive narrative approach with online data collection. The results of this study are transference is a projection of feelings from the client to the counselor, this projection of feelings occurs because of the blurring of ethical standards or boundaries set by the counselor in the counseling process, for that we need several strategies to overcome them.

Abstract

The phenomenon of low self-disclosure in adolescents is one of the problems that can hinder students' social relationships and emotional development at school. The current study aims to describe the level of self-disclosure in students in general and in each personality type, as well as to examine the differences in self-disclosure between students with introversion and extroversion personality types. This study uses a quantitative method with a comparative descriptive approach. The respondents were 190 students of MAN 1 Kota Bukittinggi (95 introverts and 95 extroverts) selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through the administration of an adolescent self-disclosure scale compiled based on the Likert scale model. Analysis of differences used an independent sample t-test with the help of the SPSS program. The results showed that the overall level of student self-disclosure was in the moderate category. Meanwhile, hypothesis testing showed that there was no significant difference between the self-disclosure of introversion and extroversion students (sig = 0.894 > 0.05). These findings indicate that personality type does not significantly influence self-disclosure. This research provides insights for guidance and counseling teachers in developing services that can maintain and further enhance student self-disclosure.
