Abstract

Purifying krosok salt (crude solar salt) is an essential step in the food and pharmaceutical industry to ensure product quality. One of the methods used for the purification of krosok salt in this study was recrystallization, involving the addition of slaked lime (Ca(OH)2) at various concentrations. Recrystallization entails dissolving salt crystals in water, followed by filtration to separate impurities from the clean salt solution. This purified salt solution is then heated to produce purer salt crystals. The aim of this study was to analyze the quality content of salt in the yielded pure salt. The significance of this research lies in its contribution of new knowledge regarding simple traditional salt processing methods, which can yield higher-quality salt with significant economic value. In this process, Ca(OH)2 was added at concentrations of 0.1%, 0.08%, and 0.06% to assess its effect on krosok salt purification. The research methodology employed experimental methods. The study's results indicated that the NaCl level test yielded an average value of 96.7% with a C concentration of 0.06%. The highest avera-ge value of 97.686% for the degree of whiteness was observed at a C concentration of 0.1%. Magnesium content averaged 0.07% at a C concentration of 0.06%, while calcium content averaged 0.058% at the same concentration. Keywords: Krosok salt, recrystallization, betel lime, salt quality.

Abstract

Abstract: Palm oil is a key commodity that requires accurate production planning to support budget and operational efficiency. PT Buana Sawit Indah, a company managing palm oil plantations, faces challenges in forecasting future production, necessitating a computerized forecasting system. This study aims to develop a forecasting system using the Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) and Single Moving Average (SMA) methods to predict palm oil production. The results indicate that both methods are effective; however, SMA with a Moving Average (MA) of 5 provides the best forecasting results, with a MAD of 165,941.64, an MSE of 65,823,372,491.27, and an MAPE of 15.66%, categorized as "good" forecasting. Meanwhile, the SES method with α = 0.9 yields the lowest error compared to other alpha values, with a MAD of 154,586.25, an MSE of 33,192,818,696.83, and an MAPE of 16.91%, also classified as "good" forecasting. Based on these findings, the SMA method with MA 5 is recommended as it produces lower forecasting errors than the SES method. Therefore, this forecasting system can assist the company in planning palm oil production more accurately and efficiently, supporting better decision-making in the future.

Abstract

Two key indicators of a battery management system (BMS) are the state of charge (SoC) and the state of health (SoH). Accurately estimating SoC is important to prevent potential issues. Additionally, space, computing time, and cost are important factors in hardware development. To address these considerations, the first-order extended Kalman filter (EKF) and adaptive extended Kalman filter (AEKF) models were selected due to their simpler data pre-processing and better accuracy. The study recommends using the first-order equivalent circuit model (ECM) method in conjunction with the EKF and AEKF algorithms due to their straightforward setup and efficient computational process. Analysis of the charge-discharge cycles shows that the AEKF method consistently outperformed the EKF method regarding SoC accuracy. Moreover, when given different initial SoC values, the AEKF method displayed superior SoC estimation accuracy compared to the EKF method. Moreover, while the accuracy of the EKF is diminished, the error value remains below 2.5% for up to 500 cycles. Additionally, the shorter computing time of the EKF method is a consideration for practical real-world implementation. Furthermore, experiments conducted over 500 cycles revealed that SoH estimation declined from 99.97% to 76.1947%, suggesting that the battery has reached the end of life (EOL) stage.

Abstract

Climate change has emerged as a major challenge for coastal communities in Pekalongan. This study emphasizes that coastal women are not merely victims of climate change, but also key actors in fostering ecological awareness and community resilience. The research aims to explore the strategic roles of women in responding to climate change through a faith-based Green Deen and community-centered approach. This qualitative study employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework, engaging coastal women as active agents in formulating and implementing climate adaptation strategies. The findings reveal that coastal women go beyond their domestic roles to become agents of ecological transformation. They actively contribute to climate adaptation through tangible actions such as environmental conservation, land use initiatives, local tradition revitalization, and spiritual reinforcement. The concept of Green Deen serves as both an ethical and practical foundation, bridging faith, action, and environmental sustainability. These findings also highlight the importance of integrating local knowledge, religious values, and participatory approaches in the development of climate adaptation policies in coastal areas.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the workload experienced by employees in the Human Resources Division at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) headquarters and to analyze how workload affects employee performance. Workload is an important factor influencing performance because excessively high workloads can negatively affect productivity, effectiveness, and employees' physical and mental health. The study uses a quantitative approach with total sampling, involving the entire population of 107 employees as respondents through a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was developed using a Likert scale to measure respondents' perceptions. The collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that employees' workload is relatively high, which may contribute to declines in both productivity and work quality. In addition, the analysis shows a positive, statistically significant relationship between workload and employee performance: increases in workload are associated with higher perceived pressure, leading to suboptimal work outcomes.
