Abstract

Problem-solving skills are needed in solving various problems both academically and authentically. However, from the results of field studies, students' problem-solving skills are still relatively low. The authentic learning approach has received much scientific support to overcome this kind of problem. However, authentic learning-based teaching materials have not been widely developed, especially for high school physics learning. The specific purpose of this research is to describe the validity of the developed electronic teaching materials. This study uses the research design and development of the ASSURE model. Electronic teaching material validation data was obtained using a validation sheet. Validation is based on expert validation consisting of 1 practitioner and two academics. Validation data is expressed by the average value of the total score for each aspect of the assessment, and the calculation results are adjusted to the validity criteria. The results showed that: the validity of electronic teaching materials was categorized as valid with an average score of 3.90. It was concluded that authentic learning-based electronic teaching materials were declared valid and could be used as a stage for class trials on optical instrument materials

Abstract

Student learning achievement does not only depend on students' ability to solve problems. Learning achievement also depends on the suitability of the good questions, so the questions need to be tested for empirical validity. This study aims to analyze the problem of critical thinking skills. The research method is quantitative descriptive method. The subjects of the trial were 32 students of class XII IPA in high school in the city of Banjarmasin. The technique of collecting data uses a test of critical thinking skills. The results of the research data are processed using the RASCH model with the Winstep program to obtain information related to infit, outfit, and undimensionality items. The results showed that with the mean MNSQ OUTFIT criteria of 1.07, ZSTD OUTFIT 0, reliability based on item separation was 1.78 with special categories and proved to be fit tests with the model. The reliability of the question using apron cronbach is 0.64. Based on the RASCH analysis there are 3 questions that are outliert. The results of the study show that critical thinking skills in dynamic electrical material can be used with improvement.

Abstract

Currently, few physics modules train critical thinking skills on the elasticity of solids. Therefore, a solid elasticity module was developed with a guided inquiry model to improve students' critical thinking skills. This research aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective learning module so that it is suitable for use in training students' critical thinking skills. This research is research & development with a design of the Dick and Carrey model. The subject of the pilot study was class XI IPA with 31 students in one of the public high schools in the city of Banjarmasin. The learning outcomes modules and tests developed were validated by 2 (two) academic validators and 1 (one) practitioner through a validation sheet. The practicality of this module is measured through the implementation of the Lesson Plan (RPP) by 3 (three) observers. The effectiveness of this module is measured using a learning outcome test that includes critical thinking skills, which are then analyzed using the N-gain equation. The results showed that: 1) the validity of the module obtained a score of 3.7, which was categorized as very valid, 2) the practicality of the module based on the lesson plan implementation sheet obtained a score of 3.5, which was categorized as very practical, 3) the effectiveness of the module based on the results of the learning test obtained an n-gain score of 0.66 with medium category critical thinking skills. It is concluded that the module of the solidity elasticity of the guided inquiry model is feasible to train students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe aspects of students 'abilities in solving problems of students' scientific literacy problems based on the RASCH model. This research uses descriptive quantitative research design with survey research methods. The research subjects were 33 students of class XII IPA 2 of SMAN 6 Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques were carried out by using a scientific literacy test consisting of 9 items about the description of dynamic electrical matter. The results of the research data were analyzed using the RASCH model using the Winstep program to obtain logit values. The results showed that the average student logit value was 1.75 logit, this value was less than 0.0 logit. This indicates that students' ability to solve scientific literacy questions is still low, so students need to be trained in scientific literacy through classroom learning.

Abstract

The unavailability of learner autonomy-oriented physics teaching materials which are capable of enhancing students’ science process skills (SPS) of students is becoming a hindrance in one of the public high schools in Banjarmasin, as well as the lack of SPS in students. Thus, this study was carried out with the aim to produce learning materials oriented on learner autonomy orientation to enhance students’ SPS properly. This was based on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed teaching materials in terms of learning outcomes in the students’ cognitive and psychomotor domains. This research utilized research and development method with the use of the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The trial subjects in this study consisted of 34 students of Grade X in one of the public high schools in Banjarmasin. The data were obtained through validation sheets, lesson plan implementation sheets, SPS observation sheets, and learning outcomes tests (LOT). The results indicated that the teaching materials developed were: 1) valid, based on the results of the validator's assessments with the average score of 3.35, categorized in the “valid” category; 2) practical, based on the implementation of lesson plan with the average score of 3.66 in the very good category; 3) effective, seen from the gain score obtained of 0.67 in the “medium” category; 4) SPS achievement of 72.17 in the “good” category. It is then concluded that the learner autonomy-oriented learning materials are feasible to be implemented in classroom activities.

Abstract

This study is aimed to describe the feasibility of a local wisdom-integrated physics module to train the character of sanggup bagawi gasan masyarakat, viewed from the aspect of validity, practicality, effectiveness, and the achievement of student’s character. This physics module is integrated to the production of brown sugar in Balangan Regency, on temperature and heat materials. This research is a research development with ADDIE design. The subjects of this research were 27 students of class X in one of the high schools in Balangan. The research instruments used included were validation sheets, student response questionnaires, learning achievement test, and character observation sheets. The result shows that developed physics module has a good aspect of validity, good practicality, moderate effectiveness, and it is very good on training student’s character. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan materi ajar fisika bermuatan authentic learning pada pokok bahasan gerak melingkar. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (RD) dengan model ASSURE. Desain uji coba pada penelitian ini berupa one-group pretest-posttest design. Subjek uji coba pada penelitian ini ialah 27 orang peserta didik kelas X program matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam di salah satu SMA Negeri di Banjarmasin. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui instrumen tes dan instrument non-tes. Instrumen tes berupa tes hasil belajar pretest dan posttest peserta didik level C1 hingga C5. Sementara instrumen non-tes berupa lembar validitas materi ajar dan angket respons peserta didik. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menganalisis rata-rata skor validitas dari para ahli untuk mengukur validitas, rata skor angket respons peserta didik untuk mengukur kepraktisan, dan uji n-gain dari hasil belajar pretest-posttest untuk mengukur efektivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa materi ajar fisika bermuatan authentic learning pada pokok bahasan gerak melingkar layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHYSICS TEACHING MATERIALS CONTAINED AUTHENTIC LEARNING ON CIRCULAR MOTION SUBJECT This study aimed to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of physics teaching materials containing authentic learning on the subject of circular motion. The type of research used is development research (RD) with the ASSURE model. The trial design in this study was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The test subjects in this study were 27 students of class X Mathematics and natural science program at one of the public high schools in Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques were obtained through test and non-test instruments. The test instrument is in the form of pretest and posttest levels C1 to C5. Meanwhile, non-test instruments were in the form of validity sheets of teaching materials and student response questionnaires. The data analysis was carried out by analyzing the average validity score of the experts to measure validity, the average student response questionnaire score to measure practicality, and the n-gain test of pretest-posttest learning outcomes to measure effectiveness. The results showed that the physics teaching material with authentic learning content on the circular motion was feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: keterlaksanaan RPP, hasil belajar siswa dan pencapaian karakter kayuh baimbai. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus, yang dilaksanakan di kelas VIII G di SMP Negeri 9 Banjarmasin dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 29 orang. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, tes hasil belajar dan lembar penilaian karakter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: keterlaksanaan RPP meningkat. siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,53 menjadi 3,82, kategori siklus II yaitu sangat baik, kemudian hasil belajar siswa ketuntasan klasikalnya untuk siklus I hanya 34%, kemudian siklus II hasil belajar siswa ketuntasan secara klasikalnya meningkat menjadi 82,75%, dan terjadi peningkatan persentase pencapaian karakter kayuh baimbai dari siklus I sebesar 68,5% menjadi 89,5%. Diperoleh simpulan bahwa penerapan modul getaran gelombang dan bunyi bermuatan karakter di kelas VIII G Banjarmasin dikategorikan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Scientific creativity and responsibility are believed to be key factors for overcoming increasingly complex real-life problems faced by students; but both competencies are not trained in school. Therefore, this research aims to describe the effectiveness of creative responsibility based learning (CRBL) to increase students responsibility and scientific creativity on physics learning in senior high school. This research used one group pretest-posttest design involving 66 students of two senior high schools in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The data collection was conducted by using responsibility observation emphasizing on participatory, cooperation, delivering an opinion, and leadership. Additionally, data were gained through scientific creativity test emphasizing on problem finding, product improvement, scientific imagination, scientific problem solving, and creative product design. The data analysis was done through qualitative descriptive, n-gain, and paired t-test. The results showed      (1) students responsibility for each meeting is in good criteria, and (2) there is a significant increase on students scientific creativity at α = 5 %, with n-gain constitutes moderate category. Thus, the CRBL is believed to be effective to increase students responsibility and scientific creativity in physics learning

Abstract

The application of models and methods that are not in accordance with the characteristics of teaching materials has an impact on the low activity of students. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of analyzing student activities after applying the direct instruction model with the mind mapping method. This research is a classroom action research with Hopkins design. This study consisted of two cycles with two meetings per cycle. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA SMAN 11 Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation. The results showed that student activity increased from 68.12% to 75.38% in the active category. It was concluded that the direct instruction model with the mind mapping method could increase the activity of class XI science students at SMAN 11 Banjarmasin.
