Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test and analyze the effect of profitability, liquidity and leverage on financial distress with the interaction of the size of the Public Accounting Firm (KAP) as a moderating variable. The object of this study is the coal industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2021-2024. Sampling using purposive sampling method and obtained 56 samples. This research method uses a quantitative approach with the help of Eviews 12 software. The research variables consist of profitability, liquidity, leverage, size of the Public Accounting Firm (KAP), and financial distress as measured using the Interest Coverage Ratio (ICR). The study results show that profitability contributes positively to financial distress, liquidity and leverage have no effect on financial distress, KAP size does not moderate the relationship between profitability liquidity, and leverage on financial distress. These findings suggest that profitability is a major factor in maintaining the financial stability of companies, especially in the coal sector which is vulnerable to market volatility. Therefore, maintaining profit is an important step in reducing the risk of financial distress.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of the Biology practicum e-module at SMAN 16 in improving student learning outcomes. With the rapid development of information technology, e-modules are expected to facilitate the learning process, especially in practicum materials that are often hampered by limited equipment and time. This study adopted an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample involved eleventh-grade students who were divided into two groups: an experimental group that utilized the e-module and a control group that used a conventional practicum module. Data were collected through learning outcome tests (before and after the practicum) and observations of the learning process. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test to compare the learning outcomes of the two groups. The results showed that the use of the Biology practicum e-module significantly improved student learning outcomes compared to the conventional module. The e-module was proven to provide easy access, increase interactivity, and deepen students' understanding of the practicum material. Student responses to the e-module were also very positive, with an overall feasibility rate reaching 91.76%, where the ease of use aspect was highly appreciated. Thus, this e-module can be used as an effective learning alternative to support Biology subjects in secondary schools, while also encouraging student independence and motivation in the digital age.

Abstract

This study explores the human dimension of digital transformation by examining what drives and hinders employee engagement across regions. Using a mixed method approach, the research investigates psychological factors such as self-efficacy, conscientiousness, and technostress and the role of adaptive leadership and human-centered design. The findings reveal regional disparities in engagement, with South Asia showing the most positive outcomes due to supportive policies and cultural cohesion. Self-efficacy and conscientiousness strengthen engagement, while technostress remains a major barrier. Adaptive leadership proves critical in sustaining engagement during organizational change, and human-centered frameworks such as the HOPE model enhance both well-being and efficiency. Overall, the study concludes that sustainable digital transformation requires an integrated approach that blends psychology, leadership, inclusive design, and alignment with local policies.

Abstract

The increasing competition in higher education has prompted Muhammadiyah University of Jember to introduce the new program innovation, Recognisi Pembelajaran Lampau (RPL). To ensure the sustainability and growth of the program and contribute positively to society, understanding student loyalty is crucial for educational institutions. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of brand image, service quality, and brand trust on student loyalty, with satisfaction serving as an intervening variable. This study method used is a quantitative survey with data collected through questionnaires. The respondents in this study were 144 students of the RPL program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with WarpPLS 8.0 software to test the relationships between the variables studied. The results show that brand image, service quality, and brand trust have a positive and significant influence on student satisfaction. Additionally, student satisfaction has a significant influence on student loyalty. Although brand image and service quality do not have a direct influence on loyalty, satisfaction as an intervening variable plays an important role in mediating the relationship between brand image, service quality, and brand trust with student loyalty. These findings provide practical implications for educational institution managers to improve brand image, service quality, and brand trust in order to enhance student satisfaction. By improving these three aspects, it is expected that students will be more loyal and have a higher commitment to their educational institution through mediated satisfaction. Through student loyalty, the marketing of educational programs can also be more efficient and effective for prospective new students.

Abstract

This study examines how digital servant leadership (DSL) influences hackathon innovation performance in Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), with a focus on the mediating role of AKHLAK cultural values. Amidst ongoing digital transformation, SOEs have embraced DSL as a leadership style that emphasizes inclusivity, empowerment, and ethical service delivery. The study utilizes a mixed method approach comprising descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling using Partial Least Squares (PLS SEM) to analyze quantitative and qualitative data gathered between November 2023 and January 2024. Key findings reveal that DSL significantly enhances innovation outcomes by fostering a psychologically safe, collaborative environment essential for successful hackathon execution. The presence of AKHLAK values Amanah, Kompeten, Harmonis, Loyal, Adaptif, and Kolaboratif strengthens cultural alignment, acting as a mediator that links leadership behaviors to employee engagement and innovation performance. Hackathons hosted by SOEs demonstrate varied formats, scales, and domains, yet all share critical success factors such as structured mentorship, inclusive participation, and strong post event support systems. The analysis of measurement and structural models shows robust construct validity and reliability across all latent variables. Convergent and discriminant validity meet accepted thresholds, while predictive relevance and model fit indices confirm the soundness of the proposed framework. Statistical mediation effects highlight the transformative impact of AKHLAK in linking DSL to performance gains in public service innovation. These findings contribute to public sector leadership theory and practice by proposing a replicable framework that combines digital servant leadership, AKHLAK-based cultural alignment, and participatory innovation formats. The Indonesian experience offers insights for other developing nations seeking to embed ethical leadership into digital transformation agendas. By institutionalizing values and enabling employee driven innovation, SOEs can better navigate complex governance landscapes while delivering measurable public value.

Abstract

Digital currencies, including Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), cryptocurrencies, and stablecoins, are reshaping global financial systems, raising questions about efficiency, inclusion, stability, and regulation. This study aims to provide a narrative review of the opportunities and regulatory impacts of digital currencies within both advanced and emerging economies. Relevant literature was collected from major databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, IEEE Xplore, and PLOS ONE. Selection emphasized relevance, quality, and contribution to technological, economic, and policy discussions. The results show that CBDCs offer opportunities to enhance financial inclusion and reduce transaction costs, while also strengthening monetary policy effectiveness. Cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based systems have demonstrated efficiency in cross-border transactions but also exhibit volatility and speculative behavior that challenge traditional financial theories. Regulatory frameworks and governance emerge as central issues, with evidence that clear, harmonized, and innovation-friendly regulations accelerate adoption, whereas restrictive policies hinder development. Global comparisons reveal that advanced economies emphasize monetary policy and stability, while developing economies prioritize inclusion. Systemic factors such as infrastructure, literacy, and governance strongly influence adoption outcomes. The findings underscore the urgency of adaptive regulation, international cooperation, and public education as strategies to maximize benefits while mitigating risks. Future research should explore sociopolitical and behavioral aspects, long-term systemic impacts, and regional variations to advance a comprehensive understanding of digital currencies. These insights provide critical guidance for policymakers and financial institutions navigating the digital transformation of money.
