Abstract

The rapid changes in science, technology, and global challenges require students to develop future thinking skills to anticipate and adapt to uncertainties. However, many secondary education curricula do not explicitly emphasize these skills, leading to a gap in students' ability to plan, predict, and engage in future-oriented decision-making. This study aims to review the literature on effective strategies in improving future thinking skills in secondary education. The research method used is systematic literature review which involves the analysis of various studies from the scopus and web of science databases. The research sample consisted of 213 articles that were filtered to 28 relevant articles. Data analysis was carried out by identifying and categorizing teaching strategies found in the literature and evaluating the effectiveness, obstacles, and role of teachers and the curriculum in their implementation. The findings of the study show that strategies such as future episodic thinking, the use of information and communication technology, and positive foresight are effective in developing students' future thinking skills. The main obstacles identified included limited technological resources, lack of understanding and support from teachers and school administration, and cultural and social challenges. The discussion suggests that the integration of future thinking skills in the curriculum, the use of interdisciplinary approaches, and adequate teacher training can overcome these barriers. This research provides recommendations to improve the implementation of teaching strategies that can prepare students for a future full of challenges and uncertainties

No data was found for the type of slang pattern in numbers, phrases, and in sentences. Then in grade XI.7, a total of eight slang words were found. Two of them were slang patterns in the form of words, six data were found in the slang pattern in the form of abbreviations. No data was found for the type of slang pattern in numbers, phrases, and slang patterns in sentences. The positive impact of using this slang language is that students become more creative. Regardless of whether this slang language is disturbing or not, as long as it is used in the right situation, the right media, and the right communicator. The use of slang can also make it difficult for language users to use it properly and correctly. The use of slang on Facebook is very dynamic, because every student has the creativity and ability to create a new slang word. Therefore, research on slang can continue to be carried out from time to time as a sign that language tends to change.

Abstract

This research aims to validate the method of analyzing the concentration of coffee solution by measuring light absorbance using simple spectrophotometry. Spectrophotometry is a technique that utilizes the interaction between visible light and electromagnetic waves on a substance. Measurement of the absorbency of the coffee was carried out by making five samples of coffee solution with different concentrations, namely 100 ppm, 160 ppm, 200 ppm, 350 ppm and 400 ppm. Absorbance measurements were carried out at visible light wavelengths (380 750 nm). The validation of the coffee has good linearity with a correlation coefficient of 0.9818; 0.9902 and 0.9788. The average precision value for the three treatments was 0.0056% with a Limit of Detection (LOD) and Limit of Quantitation (LOQ) of 115 ppm and 383.33 ppm for (  405 nm 10); 44 ppm and 146.67 ppm for ( 532 nm 10); 70.2 ppm and 234 ppm for (  650 nm 10). This indicates that the validation result of absorbance analytical method of the coffee, using simple spectrophotometry is not different from the standard measurement.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of light wavelength on solar cell performance through a hands-on laboratory experiment designed for junior high school students. The experiment utilized a spectrometer app to measure the dominant wavelengths of various visible light colors and assessed the corresponding voltage and current generated by a solar cell. Results indicated a clear inverse relationship between wavelength and solar cell output, with shorter wavelengths producing higher voltage and current values. For example, light with a wavelength of 400 nm resulted in the highest voltage (1.75 V) and current (13.9 µA), whereas light at 650 nm generated the lowest output (1.43 V and 8.7 µA). This experiment provides an accessible, cost-effective way for students to grasp the principles of solar energy and wavelength effects, enhancing their understanding of energy conversion in renewable technologies.

Abstract

Metacognition and the self-system are critical components influencing an individual's learning success. The ability to reflect on and regulate one’s learning processes must be accurately identified and assessed to support instructional planning that enhances these skills. This descriptive study aims to examine the metacognitive abilities and self-system of fifth-semester students enrolled in the Biology Education Study Program at the Islamic University of Riau. Utilizing a survey method, data were collected from a sample of 30 students, consisting of 6 males and 24 females. The instrument, a questionnaire based on Marzano’s Taxonomy and comprising three indicators per variable, was validated through expert review. Data were analyzed using percentage-based categorization and further examined through a Pearson product-moment correlation test via SPSS 22. Results indicated that all metacognitive indicators fell into the high category, with clarity monitoring achieving the highest score (80.27%) and process monitoring the lowest (77.87%). For the self-system, examining importance and emotional response were categorized as high, while efficacy was rated moderate. A significant positive correlation was found between metacognition and the self-system (r = 0.536), with the regression equation Y = 36.662 + 0.478X. These findings suggest that students exhibit high levels of both metacognitive and self-system abilities, which are significantly interrelated. Keywords: biology education, metacognitive, self-system, undergraduate
