Abstract

This article aims to comprehensively examine the principles and functions of educational management in the Islamic perspective by exploring the synthesis between classical management theories and Islamic normative values. The study assumes that the effectiveness of Islamic educational institutions is not solely determined by rational resource management but also by the integration of spiritual, ethical, and social values derived from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Using a qualitative library research approach, the study reviews management concepts from key theorists such as Henri Fayol, G.R. Terry, Harold Koontz, and Sondang P. Siagian, and connects them to Islamic principles such as tawheed, sincerity, trust, justice, and consultation. The findings show that Islamic educational management principles and functions form a leadership model balancing efficiency and worship values, performance and morality. This integration creates an educational management paradigm that is professional, effective, and oriented toward social welfare and holistic human development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan mendesak untuk meningkatkan kualitas sekolah dasar di Kota Solok melalui penerapan strategi perencanaan pendidikan yang partisipatif dan selaras dengan semangat Kurikulum Merdeka. Perencanaan pendidikan yang melibatkan berbagai pemangku kepentingan dipandang sebagai langkah strategis dalam mewujudkan pengelolaan sekolah yang efektif dan berorientasi pada peningkatan mutu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi serta menganalisis  proses perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, serta pengawasan pendidikan yang berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kualitas sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan studi dokumentasi yang dilakukan di beberapa sekolah yang ada di Kota Solok. Dari penelitian ini dapat terlihat bahwa keterlibatan aktif kepala sekolah, guru, dan komite sekolah dalam proses perencanaan pendidikan mampu membangun budaya kolaboratif, memperkuat efektivitas manajemen sekolah, serta mendorong peningkatan mutu secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan peningkatan mutu pendidikan dasar sangat ditentukan oleh sinergi partisipatif yang terencana, sistematis, dan berkelanjutan dalam seluruh tahapan manajemen  pendidikan.

Abstract

Pengambilan keputusan yang strategis, adaptif dan terarah diperlukan untuk merencanakan pendidikan islam di era sosial dan tuntunan mutu yang semakin meningkat. Keputusan tentang perencanaan pendidikan memiliki peran strategis karena menjadi dasar dalam menentukan kebijakan, program, dan alokasi sumber daya yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dinamika pengambilan keputusan di dalam perencanaan pendidikan islam ditinjau dari sudut pandang manajemen modern. Kesejangan penelitian terletak pada terbatasnya kajian yang menginterasikan prinsip manajemen modern secara sistematis dengan nila-nilai keislaman dalam konteks pengambilan keputusan strategis.Penelitian ini meneliti literatur manajemen pendidikan melalui pendekatan studi kepustakaan. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa evaluasi terhadap aspek internal dan eksternal, data empiris, dan partisipasi pemangku kepentingan harus menjadi dasar pengambilan keputusan strategis dalam pendidikan islam. Intregasi prinsip manajemen modern dengan nilai-nilai islam terbukti memperkuat kualitas perencanaan pendidikan yang berorientasi dalam jangka panjang. Metode ini menghasilkan agar tata kelola lembaga pendidikan islam yang lebih efektif, transparan dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Oleh karena itu, pengambilan keputusan strategis yang intergratif menjadi faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan mutu dan keberlanjutan pendidikan islam.

Abstract

Mutu pendidikan di Indonesia masih menghadapi banyak kendala akibat perencanaan pendidikan yang lebih berfokus pada pemenuhan administratif saja bukan sebagai instrumen  strategis peningkatan mutu.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  menganalisis bagaimana fungsi perencanaan dapat dioptimalkan melalui kajian literatur mengenai  teori perencanaan, manajemen pendidikan, dan kebijakan yang berbasis bukti. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa : (1) praktik penyusunan RKS/RKAS masih belum memanfaatkan data asesmen secara memadai akibat dari rendahnya literasi data di tingkat sekolah, (2) proses perencanaan  kurang partisipatif karena keterlibatan  pemangku kepentingan, dan  kepemimpinan strategis masih lemah. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa  Penguatan kapasitas perencana sekolah, integrasi data Rapor Pendidikan Satuan Pendidikan  dan ARKAS  sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan serta upaya peningkatan kolaborasi menjadi strategi utama untuk menghasilkan dan memperbaiki perencanaan yang efektif. Kajian  ini memberikan manfaat praktis bagi pembuat kebijakan dan sekolah dengan menawarkan model  perencanaan yang lebih adaptif, partisipatif, dan berorientasi pada outcome  sehingga program peningkatan mutu dapat  lebih tepat sasaran dan berdampak langsung pada pembelajaran.

Abstract

Educational planning is a crucial element that determines the success of educational systems in facing global dynamics and technological disruption. This study aims to synthesize the concept of educational planning from an Islamic perspective (at-takhthith) with modern planning models and analyze its challenges in the era of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) and digitalization. Using a qualitative approach with a library research method, data were analyzed inductively and thematically from various scientific literatures ranging from 2020 to 2025. The results indicate that planning in Islam is a theological imperative aimed at forming holistic individuals through the integration of faith (IMTAQ) and science-technology (IPTEK). Managerially, planning functions as a directional guide, a tool for efficiency, and a standard for supervision. This study concludes that a participatory or mixed planning model is the most ideal for balancing national macro-policies with school micro-autonomy. However, field implementation still faces structural challenges, particularly in 3-T areas regarding limited digital infrastructure and teacher competency readiness. The research recommends the need to strengthen school principals' digital leadership and the implementation of Data-Based Planning (PBD) to enhance accountability and sustainable educational quality

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan melaksanakan program pendampingan riset yang dapat memperkuat keterampilan riset siswa dan guru di MAN 3 Padang dalam mempersiapkan diri untuk berpartisipasi di kompetisi MYRES. Selain itu, membentuk kelompok riset yang berkelanjutan di MAN 3 Padang sebagai bagian dari program unggulan madrasah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di MAN 3 Padang menggunakan service learning yang memiliki lima tahap: identifikasi kebutuhan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, refleksi, dan tindak lanjut. Kegiatan PKM ini berlangsung dari bulan Juni-November 2024. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan riset siswa dan guru setelah pelatihan, termasuk pemahaman dalam perumusan masalah, metode penelitian, dan penulisan ilmiah. Pembentukan kelompok MYRES sebagai kegiatan unggulan madrasah menjadi bagian penting dari program ini, memberikan platform berkelanjutan bagi siswa untuk terlibat dalam penelitian. Refleksi menunjukkan respon positif dari peserta terhadap efektivitas program dan kebutuhan pengembangan berkelanjutan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program pendampingan berbasis service learning tidak hanya memperbaiki kualitas riset di madrasah tetapi juga membangun fondasi bagi budaya riset yang kokoh dan berkelanjutan di lingkungan pendidikan Islam. Kata kunci: budaya riset; madrasah; MYRES; pendampingan riset;  service learning. Abstract This service activity aims to implement a research mentoring program that can strengthen the research skills of students and teachers at MAN 3 Padang in preparing to participate in the MYRES competition. In addition, forming a sustainable research group at MAN 3 Padang as part of the madrasah's flagship program. This community service activity was carried out at MAN 3 Padang using service learning which has five stages: needs identification, planning, implementation, reflection, and follow-up using service learning which has five stages: needs identification, planning, implementation, reflection, and follow-up. This PKM activity takes place from June to November 2024. The results showed an increase in students' and teachers' research skills after the training, including understanding in problem formulation, research methods, and scientific writing. The establishment of the MYRES group as a flagship activity of the madrasah became an important part of the program, providing a sustainable platform for students to engage in research. Reflections showed positive responses from participants on the effectiveness of the program and the need for continued development. The implications of this study show that a service learning-based mentoring program not only improves the quality of research in madrasah but also builds a foundation for a solid and sustainable research culture in the Islamic education environment. Keywords: madrasah; MYRES; research culture; research mentoring; service learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students' critical thinking skills in Islamic Cultural History (ICH) learning at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, which is largely dominated by conventional, teacher-centered instructional practices. The study is theoretically grounded in constructivist learning theory and the concept of Self-Directed Learning (SDL), emphasizing learner autonomy, reflection, and responsibility. Within the context of Islamic education, critical thinking is also seen as an embodiment of ulul albab values, integrating reasoning, reflection, and moral awareness. The purpose of this study was to develop a Self-Directed Learning-based E-Module for Islamic Cultural History that is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills, while contributing to inclusive and contextual learning. This research employed a Research and Development approach using the 4D model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate). The study was conducted with eighth-grade students at MTsN 2 Padang. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and critical thinking tests. The dissemination stage was implemented on a limited scale through digital distribution of the E-Module. The findings indicate that the developed E-Module demonstrates very high validity (94.11%), high practicality according to teachers (91%) and students (95.82%), and is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills, as shown by an average N-Gain score of 0.727 (high category). The novelty of this study lies in integrating Self-Directed Learning into Islamic Cultural History E-Modules to foster critical thinking and prepare students for constructive participation in Indonesia's multicultural society.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an integrative decision-making model based on Islamic values to improve the quality of Islamic school governance. Through a systematic literature review of publications from 2020 to 2025, this study identifies the gap between modern managerial approaches and the integration of religious values in decision-making practices in Islamic schools. The findings show that the quality of decisions depends on the balance between technical rationality and moral orientation based on the principles of shura, amanah, 'adl, and maslahah. The resulting model includes five stages: preparation and agenda setting, data collection and analysis, deliberation and consensus, value-based implementation, and evaluation and spiritual reflection. Each stage is designed to ensure that technical and value aspects go hand in hand, resulting in inclusive, fair, and maslahah-oriented policies. The study also identified implementation challenges, including weak documentation of deliberations, low data utilization, uneven value leadership capacity, and the dominance of administrative orientation. This integrative model offers a practical framework for Islamic school leaders in formulating policies that are both managerially effective and in line with religious identity, thereby fostering an educational environment that shapes the character and achievements of students holistically

Abstract

Human resource planning (manpower planning) in Islamic education is a strategic component that determines institutional sustainability and educational quality amid challenges of professionalism, unequal teacher distribution, and rapid digital transformation. This article aims to analyze human resource planning in Islamic education from an Islamic philosophical perspective by emphasizing ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions, as well as to formulate an integrative and applicable human resource planning model. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research design, reviewing relevant national and international literature in Islamic educational management and human resource planning. The findings indicate that human resource planning in the Islamic perspective extends beyond efficiency and productivity, emphasizing spiritual and moral development through the values of tawhid, amanah (trust), adl (justice), ihsan (excellence), and maslahah (public benefit). The study also identifies structural challenges in Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, including limited professional competence and digital literacy among educators, weak long-term planning, and unequal distribution of teachers across regions. As its main contribution, this article proposes the Islamic Tauhidi Human Resource Planning Model, a conceptual framework that integrates Islamic philosophical principles with modern strategic management practices. This model offers an alternative paradigm for managing human resources in Islamic education that is ethical, professional, adaptive to socio-technological changes, and oriented toward sustainable public benefit.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the fundamental concepts, principles, and implementation challenges of educational planning through a systematic literature review. Employing qualitative methods with a library research design, this study synthesized 25 academic sources, including journals, textbooks, and policy documents published within the last decade. The analysis reveals that educational planning encompasses systematic processes of needs analysis, goal formulation, priority setting, implementation, and evaluation. Three major approaches—social demand, manpower needs, and rate of return—emphasize equity, relevance, and efficiency, respectively. Four critical aspects (quantitative, qualitative, relevance, and efficiency) must be comprehensively integrated throughout the planning stages. The findings indicate substantial implementation challenges, including limited managerial capacity, insufficient data literacy, weak stakeholder participation, and resource constraints. School Work Plans (RKS/M) often remain administrative documents rather than strategic instruments for institutional improvement. Regional disparities in planning capacity further exacerbate educational inequity between urban and rural areas. Significant gaps persist between theoretical concepts and practical implementation, where planning becomes a mechanistic administrative task rather than a strategic management instrument. This study concludes that effective educational planning requires paradigm transformation toward participatory, evidence-based approaches supported by enhanced capacity building, systematic evaluation mechanisms, and synergistic coordination among central government, regional authorities, and educational institutions to ensure sustainable and equitable national education development.
