Abstract

Writing is an important skill for expressing ideas and feelings; however, without proper guidance, many students struggle to develop it. The objective of this research is to identify various effective approaches to developing students' creative writing skills. This study employs a scoping review method with a systematic approach that includes topic design, searching, selection, grouping, drafting, summarizing, and writing study results. Article searches were conducted through Google Scholar and ERIC using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) method. The articles reviewed were published between 2019-2025, with 15 selected articles for further discussion. The results of the scoping review indicate that creative writing skills can be developed through various approaches. This research concludes that the development of students' creative writing skills can be achieved through diverse methods, including story-based methods, learning models focused on local wisdom and multiliteracies, as well as the use of digital media and structured instruction. The selection of appropriate methods, considering media, models, and students' abilities, is crucial for the successful development of creative writing skills. Further research is needed to explore the effectiveness of these approaches on various participants in the context of education.

Abstract

The presence of diverse religions, groups, and cultures in schools highlights the need for an inclusive Islamic learning model that actively instills values of tolerance. This study critically examines the implementation of Inclusive Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in two contrasting schools in Malang City: SMA Taman Harapan, characterized by interfaith diversity, and MAN 2 Malang, characterized by intra-Islamic diversity. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a multiple-case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. Results indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers in both settings employ inclusive strategies—such as interactive dialogue, problem-based learning, contextual teaching, and project-based learning—that effectively foster mutual respect, enhance religious tolerance, and counteract radicalism among students. Ultimately, this research asserts that inclusive Islamic Religious Education is essential for strengthening tolerance and combating radicalism, presenting a viable model for humanistic and tolerant religious education in diverse school environments. The study substantially contributes empirical evidence by demonstrating the practical benefits of inclusive approaches in varying contexts, moving beyond normative claims to real-world educational impact.

Abstract

This study examines the comparison of communication politeness strategies in the hospitality industry, specifically in hotels. Data were collected from two different hotels, Lombok Astoria Hotel and Aruna Senggigi Resort. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive, utilizing the Face Threatening Act (FTA) theory by Brown and Levinson (1987) as a foundational reference. Data collection involved observations, interviews, and recordings. The scope of this research focuses on the politeness strategies used by employees when interacting with customers, superiors, subordinates, and fellow employees in both hotels. The purpose of this study is to describe common occurrences and interactions in hotel environments, particularly in terms of how messages are expressed and responses are received. This insight aims to provide both theoretical and practical learning for students preparing to enter the hotel sector. The study analyzes and explains the factors influencing the expressions used by employees when serving guests and collaborating with superiors, subordinates, and colleagues. Findings indicate that the use of politeness strategies at Lombok Astoria Hotel is predominantly characterized by Save-Face strategies, while Aruna Senggigi Resort employs both Save-Face and Face Threatening Act strategies. The factors contributing to the use of these politeness strategies include familiarity, time, and place, which are further supported by the context of the interactions and the messages conveyed during conversations.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of lexical cohesion in The Little Prince, a novel by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, using Halliday and Hasan’s (1976) theory of cohesion, with a specific focus on the reiteration category. The objectives of the study are: (1) to identify the types of lexical cohesion used by the main character, the Little Prince; and (2) to analyze how each type contributes to the textual structure and meaning of the narrative. Employing a qualitative descriptive method and discourse analysis approach, this study focuses on the odd-numbered chapters of the novel as the primary data source. The analysis reveals four types of reiteration; repetition, synonymy, antonymy, and superordinate. With repetition being the most dominant (61 occurrences). These cohesive devices are shown to significantly enhance the narrative's coherence, emotional tone, and philosophical nuance. The findings underscore the integral role of lexical cohesion in constructing the character’s voice, and they contribute to a deeper understanding of how linguistic choices support thematic and stylistic unity in literary texts..

Abstract

Character education is an important pillar in forming a whole human being who is not only intellectually intelligent, but also moral and spiritual. The reality of education today shows a tendency that still focuses on cognitive aspects, while character aspects have not received adequate attention. This study aims to examine the values of character education in the book Adabul 'Alim wal Muta'allim by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari and examine its relevance to the needs of contemporary Islamic education. The method used a scoping review of 25 scientific articles obtained through a systematic literature search using focused keywords. The results of the study show that this book contains the values of adab, including relationships with God, self, teachers, and knowledge. Values such as sincerity, responsibility, patience, tawadhu', and discipline become the core of the character-building process in education. In conclusion, this book provides a strong foundation and a major contribution to the development of integral, applicable, and sustainable character education in the Islamic education system, and can be used as a reference in strengthening adab-based education in various Islamic educational institutions, both formal and non-formal, through habituation and exemplary approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to explain how the use of word of mouth communication (getok tular) and the rationale behind the usage as a method of da’wah within Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI). This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The results of the study revealed that the word of mouth communication was applied for two activities, namely as a method of delivering da’wah messages and as a method of cadre with a chain system to official members who were stratified based on the study book or HTI curriculum. The reason why HTI used word of mouth communication as a method of da’wah was because of the effectiveness and efficiency factors as well as socio-cultural factors.

Abstract

Employee creativity is an important aspect in driving innovation and organizational competitiveness. One strategy that has been proven effective in enhancing creativity is job crafting, which is the proactive behavior of employees in adjusting their work to better suit their preferences, strengths, and personal goals. This study aims to map the literature related to the relationship between job crafting and creativity through a scoping review approach. A total of 21 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed using the PRISMA protocol and analyzed thematically and bibliometrically using VOSviewer. The results of the study show that job crafting generally has a positive relationship with creativity, both directly and through the mediation of psychological variables such as work engagement, self-efficacy, and psychological capital. Contextual factors such as leadership, organizational climate, and individual-organization fit also moderate these relationships. These findings have important implications for organizational policy development and managerial interventions to create a work environment that supports employee initiative and creativity.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi merupakan salah satu Instansi di Lombok Tengah dengan pelaksanaan pelatihan ini dapat membantu staf dalam proses pembuatan surat menyurat dengan menggukan fitur-fitur yang di tampilkan oleh mail marge baik pembuatan surat masal maupun surat-surat yang lainnya. Mail marge ini adalah suatu fasilitas yang disajikan oleh Ms Word yang dapat menagani suatu masalah dalam proses pembuatan surat menyurat. Mail merge juga berfungsi menyediakan fitur dalam mengolah suatu data atau variable yang tersimpan dalam basis data dengan menyediakan sebuah tamplat. Kelebihan dalam penggunaan mail merge ini adalah memudahkan pengguna dalam membuat surat atau dokumen dengan mudah dan lebih efisien sebagai penunjang dalam proses pembuatan surat menyurat menggunakan Microsoft Office Word untuk membuat surat-menyurat sehingga akan sangat menyulitkan dan memakan waktu yang lama jika ingin membuat surat dalam jumlah yang besar untuk di kirimkan kepada anggota ataupun surat keluar. Dengan melakukan pelatihan kepada Staf Dinas Tenaga Kerja Dan Transmigrasi tersebut maka dapat memahami cara membuat surat menyurat dengan mudah, cepat, efektif dan efisien dan semua surat dapat terdokumentasi dengan baik. Pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan tahapan sebagai berikut (1) perencanaan pelatihan (2) evaluasi kemampuan peserta pelatihan sebelum pelaksanaan pelatihan diadakan (3) pelaksanaan pelatihan (4) evaluasi hasil pelaksanaan pelatihan (5) laporan. Tujuan Pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan dalam pengunaan tool mail marge software aplikasi. Manfaat dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk peningkatan kompetensi dalam menguasai software aplikasi yang setiap kali digunakan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the concept of social interaction in education based on the thoughts of Sheikh Az Zarnuji in the book of Ta'lim Muta'allim.The main focus is on describing the ideal form of interaction between teachers and students, as well as between students.The method used was a literature study,which involved selecting relevant sources, in-depth reading,critical analysis of the content and identification of appropriate solutions.The collected data was then grouped thematically to facilitate the writing process. Humans are social creatures by nature, and regular interactions help socialize individuals to meet needs, overcome life's challenges and build reciprocal relationships. Positive interactions between teachers and students enhance educational goals, allowing learners to feel valued, motivated and engaged in the educational process. Islam emphasizes the importance of positive social interaction and behavior, suggesting that friendship and social engagement are essential for personal social and moral growth.Through social interaction, individuals learn to distinguish right from wrong and develop social and moral values. Education serves as the basis for instilling social values, influencing social behavior and the future of individuals.The Ta'lim Muta'allim emphasizes the importance of adab (etiquette) in education and daily life, highlighting respectful interactions between students and teachers. It remains relevant as it provides guidance on ethical behavior, respectful communication, and positive social interaction, ultimately aiming to create a whole individual with integrity and responsibility.With a focus on manners, collaborative learning, and effective communication, social interactions can foster a harmonious educational environment and aid in the development of student character and leadership.

Abstract

Dualism in education is an interesting topic to discuss. Two entities separated as a result of this educational dualism are not easy to be united. However, this situation has happened, and what we have to do is finding the solution to anticipate the effects of the dualism. This article uses SLR method, which aims to summarize researches that have been done on history, effects, and solution of educational dualism in Indonesia. In this Systematic Literature Review (SLR) we collect, synthesize, and analyse research articles on educational dualism in Indonesia published between 2013 and 2023. The result of the research is that educational dualism in Indonesia is caused by several respects. First, this dualism is started from the policy of the Dutch Colonial Government in the pre-independence era. Second, the dualism is inherited and rooted up to now. Third, there is a political factor in the Indonesian government. Fourth, government policies that is considered weakening and alienating madrasah education (Islam), Fifth, the narrowness of scientific studies in Islamic education. Meanwhile, the impacts of this dualism are that there is a dichotomy in knowledge, the cost of education is unaffordable for the lower middle class, curriculum development is increasing but religious, cultural and social values are experiencing a decline, and the world of education is becoming a political playing ground. To reduce the impact of the educational dualism above, several solutions are offered: one, eliminating scientific dichotomies; two, awakening the Islamic scientific ethos and scientific integration; three, changes in government policy.
