Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in developing human resources capable of addressing global challenges. This study explores the influence of school principal leadership and teacher teaching quality on student learning achievement, emphasizing their significance in fostering a supportive and effective learning environment. Despite existing research, gaps remain in understanding the interplay between leadership, teacher performance, and their combined effects on educational outcomes. A descriptive research design was employed, utilizing questionnaires and documentation to assess principal leadership, teacher teaching quality, and Civics learning achievement among Class XI students at SMA Negeri 5 Bandung for the academic year 2020/2021. Sampling involved 47 participants, and data analysis included normality tests, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis. Principal leadership exhibited a positive correlation with student learning achievement (r = 0.69, F = 26.74, p 0.05), while teacher teaching quality demonstrated an even stronger correlation (r = 0.83, F = 12.09, p 0.05). Combined, these factors significantly influenced student outcomes (F = 62.48, p 0.05), underscoring the synergistic effect of effective leadership and high-quality instruction. The findings emphasize the importance of leadership development and teacher professionalism in enhancing academic performance. Effective leadership fosters a conducive learning environment, while high-quality teaching directly impacts student success. The study highlights the critical roles of school principals and teachers in achieving quality education. Limitations include a small sample size and reliance on specific assessment tools. Future research should explore additional factors, incorporate larger samples, and adopt longitudinal and mixed-method approaches to provide deeper insights into educational effectiveness.

Abstract

Developing leadership competencies is a central objective of theological education; however, empirical evidence on how such competencies influence graduates’ job performance within ministry-based contexts has remained limited. This study analyzed the effects of interpersonal and personal competencies on the performance of theological college graduates. Primary data were collected through structured interviews using a questionnaire administered to 77 randomly selected employed alumni of a theological college in Cianjur Regency, drawn from an alum list of 259 potential respondents. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings revealed that personal competency—encompassing self-awareness, integrity, and emotional maturity—had a more substantial influence on alum performance than interpersonal competency, which included empathy and communication. This study contributes empirical evidence from a theological education context, underscoring the importance of integrating personal formation into leadership development. The results suggest that theological institutions should enhance holistic curricula emphasizing character and self-leadership as foundations for effective servant leadership.

Abstract

The tension between institutional accountability and pedagogical autonomy remains a central challenge in school leadership, yet the mechanisms modulating this interplay within professional development are often overlooked. This study examines the operational synergy between supervisory roles, systemic challenges, and teacher growth through a quantitative analysis of 27 practitioners. Findings reveal a high-performance baseline in supervisory roles (Mean 4.21), anchored by rigorous curriculum alignment (Mean 4.48) and consistent clinical observations (Mean 4.26). We identify a critical "relational bottleneck" where communication friction (Mean 3.44) acts as a more significant barrier than traditionally cited constraints like time or resource scarcity. Despite this interpersonal dissonance, the impact on teaching quality (Mean 4.37) and professional collaboration (Mean 4.30) remains robust. These data expose a fundamental tension: the pursuit of digital transparency and standardized monitoring is inherently limited by the psychological safety required for substantive instructional change.

Abstract

Background . The increasingly complex and uncertain education system demands that principals make strategic decisions that not only ensure organizational effectiveness but also drive continuous quality improvement. Although transformational leadership is considered relevant because it emphasizes shared vision, participation, and empowerment, empirical evidence on how these principles are operationalized in the decision-making practices of public elementary school principals remains limited, particularly in the context of novice leadership. This study aims to analyze in depth the decision-making practices of principals with a Guru Penggerak background in two public elementary schools in Sumedang Regency, their impact on school quality improvement, and the challenges and strategies they use to overcome them. Method. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with two principals and six teachers, and then analyzed thematically with systematic procedures to ensure credibility and consistency of interpretation. Result. The findings indicate that democratic, collaborative, adaptive, reflective, and data-driven decision-making practices reflect the core dimensions of transformational leadership, namely idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration, which contribute to improving school climate, teacher performance, student learning outcomes, and strengthening professional development. Challenges such as limited resources, ethical dilemmas, and policy constraints are addressed through inclusive communication, ethical reasoning, and strategic use of data. Conclusion. This study empirically clarifies the concrete mechanisms that link principals' decision-making practices to transformational leadership theory in a VUCA context, while also confirming its contribution as a conceptual and practical framework for strengthening school leadership capacity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan perkembangan kajian kepemimpinan pelayan di perguruan tinggi tahun 2001-2021. Penelitian menggunakan metode analisis bibliometrik, dengan tahapan: 1) pencarian bibliografi dengan aplikasi Publish or Perish dari database Scopus, 2) penyaringan bibliografi, 3) pelengkapan dan penyempurnaan bibliografi, dan 4) analisis dengan VOSviewer. Temuannya adalah: 1) penelitian bertema kepemimpinan pelayan di perguruan tinggi tahun 2001-2021 muncul sejak 2008 dan melonjak signifikan pada 2019 – 2021; 2) tidak ada penerbit jurnal yang mendominasi penerbitan artikel; 3) pemuncakan jumlah sitasi artikel per tahun terjadi empat kali, yaitu 2009, 2014, 2017, dan 2020; 4) sepuluh artikel yang paling banyak disitasi berkaitan dengan keperawatan, hospitality, kesejahteraan, keolahragaan, academic outcomes, kepuasan kerja, keterlibatan akademik, positif psikologi, kompetensi mentoring, dan pengukuran kepemimpinan pelayan; 5) kata kunci judul dan abstrak pengarang berkaitan ada 13, 3 kata muncul secara bersamaan. 6) Kolaborasi penulis terjadi di antara empat penulis. Berdasarkan temuan, penelitian model kepemimpinan pelayan akan terus meningkat.

Abstract

Total Quality Management is an approach to an organization that focuses on quality and is based on the participation of all human resources and is aimed at long-term results and success through customer satisfaction and providing benefits to members of the organization. The main customers in this study are students and parents. The National Standards contained in PP No. 57 of 2020 have set national quality standards for education. Quality improvement in schools is the responsibility of all school members. In addition, the teacher is an important key in improving classroom learning which will later have an impact on improving the quality of education. All resources and efforts have been made in the process of improving the quality of schools, one of which is the application of sustainable national education standards. Furthermore, there is continuous TQM. In the development of models in achieving the quality of education is very necessary in the realization of education itself. Given the importance of the implications of quality assurance in the learning process, the RANISH quality development model was designed in the process of improving the quality of education. This research uses qualitative research methods with the DBR (Design Based Research) method approach. The DBR method is felt to be very suitable because the DBR method aims to provide solutions to any problems that arise and is relevant in order to develop a quality development model in educational units because it is able to bridge theory and practice. The recommendations for the RANISH quality development model are felt to be appropriate because they are based on precise and measurable quality control. Starting with the process of quality planning, quality control and quality improvement.

Abstract

During the transition to the mixed education model during the Covid-19 pandemic, some issues have emerged in the matter of providing and supporting the quality of university education in all countries, including educational programs' relevance to the demands of the labor market, expectations of students and their families, digital transformation of the educational process, and economic stability of institution networks. The purpose of the research was to evaluate the quality of educational services in the higher education systems of Indonesia and Russia. The study systematized several essential factors for achieving educational service quality in the current higher education systems, given the limitations imposed by Covid-19. Following this objective, the study utilized a quantitative approach, adopting the SERVQUALmodel that measures the service quality across five service dimensions: tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The model aided the development of the questionnaire to assess the quality of the educational services of Indonesian and Russian universities. The questionnaire included 25 close-ended questions on two scales: one to measure the students' expectations regarding the quality of educational services and the other to measure the students' current perceptions. A snowball technique was used to recruit students from Indonesian and Russian universities as participants in the study. The students were asked to assess the educational services of their universities based on their initial expectations and current perceptions. Overall, the students of both countries revealed that they had high expectations from the educational services of their universities. However, the current perceptions of the Russian students regarding the quality of educational services provided by their universities are higher and more positive than the perceptions of the Indonesian students regarding the quality of educational services being delivered to them. Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to investigate the impact of academic service system management on enhancing teacher quality at Al Ihsan Japura Lor Islamic Elementary School, Cirebon. The study focuses on four indicators of academic service system management (efficiency, accessibility, reliability, and technological innovation), as well as four indicators of quality improvement (student satisfaction, learning effectiveness, accreditation improvement, and productivity). The research method uses a quantitative approach with a sample of 33 teachers. The research instrument is a closed questionnaire with tested validity, which is then analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation technique. The results of the study indicate that all indicators of academic service system management have a significant effect on improving teacher quality, with correlation values ranging from 0.87 to 0.93, far exceeding the r table value at a significance level of 5%. This finding confirms that an efficient, accessible, reliable, and innovative academic service management system can improve student satisfaction, learning effectiveness, accreditation quality, and teacher productivity in madrasah. This study provides an important contribution to the development of academic management strategies for improving teacher quality, especially in rural community-based madrasahs.Keywords: academic service management, teacher quality, Islamic elementary school. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dampak manajemen sistem pelayanan akademik terhadap peningkatan kualitas guru di MI Al Ihsan Japura Lor, Cirebon. Penelitian ini berfokus pada empat indikator manajemen sistem pelayanan akademik (efisiensi, aksesibilitas, keandalan, dan inovasi teknologi), serta empat indikator peningkatan kualitas (kepuasan siswa, efektivitas pembelajaran, peningkatan akreditasi, dan produktivitas). Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan sampel 33 guru. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner tertutup dengan validitas teruji, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik korelasi momen produk Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua indikator manajemen sistem pelayanan akademik memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kualitas guru, dengan nilai korelasi berkisar antara 0,87 hingga 0,93, jauh melebihi nilai r tabel pada tingkat signifikansi 5%. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa sistem manajemen pelayanan akademik yang efisien, mudah diakses, andal, dan inovatif dapat meningkatkan kepuasan siswa, efektivitas pembelajaran, kualitas akreditasi, dan produktivitas guru di madrasah. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan strategi manajemen akademik untuk meningkatkan kualitas guru, khususnya di madrasah berbasis komunitas di daerah pedesaan.Kata kunci: manajemen layanan akademik, kualitas guru, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

Tanggung jawab pelaksanaan pendidikan, bukan hanya dibebankan kepada sekolah (guru dan kepala sekolah saja), tetapi juga menuntut adanya keterlibatan dan tanggung jawab orang tua serta semua komponen lapisan masyarakat sekitar sekolah. Untuk mewujudkan partisipasi aktif dari semua lapisan masyarakat sekitar sekolah baik berupa dukungan finansial maupun ide atau pikiran yang dapat memajukan sekolah, maka peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam menyusun program pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan salah satu faktor strategis untuk mewujudkan jalinan komunikasi yang harmonis antara sekolah dengan masyarakat. Peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mendorong sekolah untuk dapat mewujudkan visi, misi, tujuan, dan sasaran sekolahnya melalui program-program yang dilaksanakan secara terencana dan bertahap dengan melibatkan komite sekolah dan masyarakat sekitar sekolah.

Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai perencanaan strategi pemetaan pembukaan Prodi baru berbasis penguatan manajemen pendidikan tinggi pada Perguruan Tinggi Swasta, hal ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya fenomena putus kuliah, rendahnya tingkat keterampilan tenaga kerja dan banyaknya lulusan perguruan tinggi sebagai Pengangguran atau tidak terserap IDUKA. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, studi kasus best practice perencanaan strategis di Universitas Telkom sebagai Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Vokasi di Wilayah Jabar dan Banten. Proses pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur, studi dokumentasi, wawancara, dan pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perencanaan strategik yang disusun menggambarkan pemetaan pembukaan Prodi baru hasil analisis lingkungan yang sistematik dan komprehensif dengan pendekatan analisis lingkungan Penta Helix dan Penerapan Competence Based Education (CBE) dalam Knowledge Management, dengan demikian pemetaan pembukaan prodi baru berbasis penguatan manajemen pendidikan tinggi sudah terdeskripsikan dan terproyeksikan dengan baik yang memiliki saling keterkaitan dalam pembangunan socio-economic yang mendorong knowledge-based economy untuk melakukan inovasi dan kewirausahaan melalui kolaborasi dan kerjasama yang menguntungkan di antara university, government, industry, civil society, dan social entrepreneurs. Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam pemetaan pembukaan prodi baru sudah dapat teridentifikasi dengan baik yang terdeskripsikan pada hasil analisis kelemahan dan tantangan dalam proses analisis lingkungan internal dan eksternal yang kemudian dirumuskan strategi untuk mengatasinya dengan memanfaatkan kajian analisis kekuatan dan peluang. Formulasi model yang direkomendasikan dalam penelitian ini merupakan hipotetik tahapan sistematik yang dapat digunakan untuk melakukan pemetaan pembukaan prodi baru berbasis perencanaan strategis penguatan manajemen pendidikan tinggi di Perguruan Tinggi Swasta.
