Abstract

The Brokohan Sapi tradition in Tempursari Village, Donomulyo District, Malang Regency represents a form of local wisdom that embodies cultural and symbolic values through the use of ubo rampe. This study aims to describe the forms, meanings, and cultural values of ubo rampe in the Brokohan Sapi tradition. The study employs a qualitative method with a symbolic anthropological approach as proposed by Clifford Geertz. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using an interactive analysis technique involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that ubo rampe is systematically arranged in the form of food offerings, including core dishes, complementary dishes, and spiritual elements. Each component of ubo rampe carries symbolic meanings related to gratitude, safety, fertility, and hopes for prosperity. The cultural values embedded in the tradition include religious, social, ecological, economic, and philosophical values that are integrated into ritual practices. The implications of this study indicate that the Brokohan Sapi tradition functions as a medium for cultural preservation and can be utilized as a local wisdom-based learning resource in Indonesian language and literature education.

Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition in language learning frequently encounters challenges due to abstract instructional approaches, which often diminish student motivation and enthusiasm. This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of introducing concrete objects in enhancing students’ learning enthusiasm during vocabulary instruction. A systematic literature review was conducted by analyzing peer-reviewed journal articles, educational books, and pedagogical reports published between 2015 and 2024. Data were retrieved from ERIC, Scopus, and Google Scholar using keywords such as “concrete objects,” “vocabulary learning,” “student motivation,” and “tangible pedagogy.” Inclusion criteria prioritized empirical and theoretical studies investigating multisensory or physical learning aids in lexical instruction. The synthesized findings reveal that integrating concrete objects significantly increases student engagement, vocabulary retention, and learning enthusiasm. Tactile and visual stimuli activate multiple cognitive pathways, transforming abstract lexical items into accessible and memorable concepts. Furthermore, object-based instruction fosters interactive classroom environments, reduces language anxiety, and stimulates intrinsic motivation, particularly among young learners and second-language students. However, optimal outcomes depend on contextual relevance, teacher facilitation, and alignment with curricular goals. Ultimately, concrete object integration proves to be a highly effective pedagogical strategy for revitalizing learning enthusiasm in vocabulary education.

Abstract

This theoretical study addresses the persistently low science literacy among Indonesian elementary students, particularly the tendency to teach complex ecosystem concepts through rote memorization rather than systemic understanding. The research aims to theoretically analyze how the syntax of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) strengthens science literacy in fifth-grade students. Employing a systematic literature review and qualitative content analysis, this study synthesizes peer-reviewed journals, pedagogical references, and official curriculum documents published between 2019 and 2024. The findings reveal a systematic alignment between PjBL phases and OECD-PISA science literacy indicators: formulating essential questions enhances the ability to explain scientific phenomena, project planning develops competency in designing scientific inquiry, and process monitoring cultivates critical data interpretation. Concrete, context-driven projects function as cognitive bridges that enable students in the concrete-operational stage to construct systemic ecosystem understanding through authentic investigation. The synthesis confirms that PjBL theoretically transforms passive content retention into active scientific reasoning, provided structured scaffolding and authentic environmental problems are maintained. This conceptual blueprint offers a foundation for educators and researchers to design inquiry-oriented ecosystem learning that moves beyond craft-making. Future empirical validation through field studies is recommended.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe best practices in teaching students to write the names of animals using the STAR method with sticky notes, and (2) describe the success of improving first-grade elementary school students’ ability to write the names of animals. This study employed a mixed-methods approach that combined qualitative and quantitative methods. The research subjects were 29 first-grade students at SDN Madyopuro 3. The research data consisted of documents of students’ animal name writing performance, participatory observation, and interviews. The research results revealed two main findings. First, the process of best practices in writing animal names began with the teacher’s preparatory steps, followed by the application of the STAR method (Situation, Challenge, Action, Reflection). Second, there was an improvement in the success rate of writing animal names. Quantitatively, the percentage of student mastery increased from 51.7% to 86.2%. Qualitatively, it was described narratively that the students showed high enthusiasm. In conclusion, the STAR method was successfully implemented as a best practice in teaching students to write animal names.

Abstract

Layanan bimbingan karir memiliki peran penting dalam membantu siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan menentukan arah karir setelah lulus. Melalui layanan yang terarah, siswa diharapkan mampu mengenali potensi diri dan membuat keputusan karir secara matang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi layanan bimbingan karir dalam membentuk kematangan pilihan karir siswa kelas akhir di SMK Negeri 1 Narmada. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap guru bimbingan dan konseling serta siswa kelas akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan bimbingan karir yang dilaksanakan melalui konseling ndividu, bimbingan kelompok, dan kegiatan eksplorasi karir mampu meningkatkan pemahaman diri, kepercayaan diri, serta kesiapan siswa dalam menentukan pilihan karir. Kesimpulannya, implementasi layanan bimbingan karir di SMK Negeri 1 Narmada berkontribusi positif dalam membentuk kematangan pilihan karir siswa meskipun masih terdapat beberapa kendala dalam pelaksanaannya.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut pembelajaran PPKn di sekolah dasar agar lebih inovatif dan sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan persepsi guru dan siswa terhadap penggunaan media digital dalam pembelajaran PPKn di kelas IV SDN 1 Sesaot. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek satu orang guru dan 25 siswa kelas IV. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru dan siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan media digital seperti video pembelajaran, presentasi interaktif, Kahoot, dan Wordwall. Media digital mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar, keaktifan siswa, serta membantu pemahaman materi PPKn yang bersifat abstrak. Kendala yang ditemukan meliputi keterbatasan jaringan internet, perangkat belajar, dan literasi digital guru. Secara keseluruhan, penggunaan media digital berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran PPKn di sekolah dasar dan perlu didukung melalui penyediaan fasilitas serta peningkatan kompetensi guru secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sosiologi merupakan bagian dari bagian pembelajaran sosial, memiliki stigma bahwa pelajaran ini cenderung monoton, didominasi oleh membaca dan menulis. Oleh karena itu, profesionalisme guru dalam mengajar dibutuhkan untuk dapat mengelola kelas dengan cara yang menarik. Ada banyak pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan guru, salah satunya adalah metode pembelajaran Jigsaw. Keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran sangat diperlukan karena dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana penerapan metode pembelajaran kooperatif Jigsaw dalam pembelajaran sosiologi dirasakan oleh guru dan siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian guru sosiologi dan siswa SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Jigsaw memiliki kemampuan untuk menciptakan kelas yang lebih aktif. Tidak hanya aktif di bidang akademik, metode ini dapat memengaruhi keterampilan sosial dan emosional siswa. Meskipun dalam penerapannya terdapat kendala, kendala tersebut dapat diatasi oleh guru dan siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the similarities and differences in the forms of idioms containing BTM elements in BV and BI and (2) the similarities and differences in the meanings of idioms containing BTM elements in BV and BI. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a contrastive analysis method. The results of this study indicate that (1) in terms of form there are, (a) idioms with the same form and meaning, (b) idioms with the same form but different meanings, and (c) idioms with different forms, but the same meaning in BV and BI ; (2) in terms of meaning, there are similarities and differences (a) full meaning and partial meaning, (b) context meaning, and (c) value meaning. The results of this study can be used as teaching materials for BIPA learning, especially for students from Vietnam.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) persamaan dan perbedaan bentuk idiom yang berunsur BTM pada BV dan BI dan (2) persamaan dan perbedaan makna idiom yang berunsur BTM pada BV dan BI. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kulaitatif dengan metode analisis kontrastif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) dari segi bentuknya terdapat, (a) idiom yang sama bentuk dan makna, (b) idiom yang sama bentuk tetapi maknanya berbeda, dan (c) idiom yang beda bentuk, tetapi maknanya sama dalam BV dan BI; (2) dari segi maknanya terdapat persamaan dan perbedaan (a) makna penuh dan makna sebagian, (b) makna konteks, dan (c) makna nilai. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan ajar pembelajaran BIPA, khususnya bagi pemelajar dari Vietnam.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of preserving local wisdom amid the flow of modernization that influences community life, particularly in the tradition of Ramadan Sahur Patrol in Kademangan Village, Pagelaran District, Malang Regency. This research aims to describe the implementation of the sahur patrol, identify the local wisdom values embedded within it, and analyze community responses to the tradition. The method used is qualitative with a cultural anthropology approach and a descriptive research design. Data were collected through interviews and documentation involving purposively selected informants, including community leaders, patrol participants, and local government officials. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the sahur patrol is carried out in a structured manner by utilizing traditional musical instruments, involving cross-generational participation, and being integrated with the community’s religious activities. This tradition contains religious, social, educational, cultural, mutual cooperation, togetherness, and responsibility values. In addition, the community shows a highly positive response through active participation and support for the sustainability of the tradition. The implications of this study emphasize that the sahur patrol plays an important role as a medium for cultural preservation, strengthening social solidarity, and forming collective identity and character within the community.

Abstract

Sego Sambel Semanggi is a traditional culinary heritage from Banyuwangi that functions not only as food but also as a representation of the cultural identity of the Osing community. This study aims to describe the culinary components of Sego Sambel Semanggi and reveal the symbolic meanings embedded within them. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using cultural anthropology and semiotic approaches. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the owner of the Sego Semanggi Mbok Rewel MSME in Banyuwangi. The findings indicate that the main components, such as white rice, semanggi vegetables, and lemongrass sambal, symbolize simplicity, prosperity, closeness to nature, and local wisdom of the Banyuwangi community. Various side dishes, including wader fish, eel, catfish, shrimp, and pepes, represent values of perseverance, courage, solidarity, adaptability, and the spirit of life of the Osing people. Sego Sambel Semanggi is not merely a traditional cuisine but also serves as a representation of Banyuwangi cultural identity that continues to be preserved amid modernization
