Creative thinking is one of the essential skills in science learning. Creative thinking skills become a source of strength in the development, invention, and investigation to face the obstacles in the 21st century. This study aimed to determine the creative thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning by gender. This study used descriptive analysis with quantitative data. Data collection by tests, interviews, and observation sheets. The participants of this study were 94 students from three different schools consisting of 35 male and 59 female students. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Indicators of critical thinking are fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Creative thinking skills in this study divided into three categories: high, medium, and low. The result of this study showed that the male students have a high percentage of flexibility, the average percentage in both originality and fluency, and a low percentage in elaboration. Female students have a high percentage in fluency, the medium percentage in elaboration, and a low percentage in both originality and flexibility.

This study aims to describe structures and the values of character education in the children's storybook "Linda has a Papaya Garden" by Astry Lestari. This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive analysis method. The technique used in collecting data is through documentation and the technique used to analyze the data is content analysis. The results showed that the children's storybook "Linda has a Papaya Garden" by Astry Lestari has a story structure consisting of themes, characters and characterizations, settings, plots and messages. Meanwhile, the educational values contained in the children's storybook are religious, honest, disciplined, hardworking, creative, curious, appreciating achievement, caring for the environment, and responsibility. The message of this story conveys the importance of preserving humility and toughness as the basic values to instil in children's development.

The demand for expertise in technology and rapid service in the modern era has penetrated the field of education. According to Geogi Lozanov in Robinson (2005: 1) in reaching citizens who are sensitive to the development of science and technology and have the ability to interact internationally requires critical thinking skills and democratic attitudes. Critical thinking also requires skills to think about assumptions in asking questions about the concept of democracy that is being discussed before it becomes an option to be developed into a way of living together as a nation. Efforts to reach generations of citizens who have critical thinking skills and have democratic skills are one of the goals of national education, one of them is learning. Besides that, in the effort to reach the generation of democratic citizens in the modern era, high order thinking skills are also needed. This ability to think at a higher level requires someone to apply new information or prior knowledge. The purpose of this study is to describe the concepts of democratic skills in the HOTS stage in the modern era. The method in this study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The concepts of democratic skills in the HOTS frame are civic skills, intellectual skills, and participation skills. Through this research, HOTS is expected to strengthen democratic skills in the modern era.

Teachers have an essential role in preparing students for Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) or Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM). It takes preparation, readiness, and a good teacher's perception of the AKM so that the implementation of this program goes well. This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions in secondary schools related to the opportunities and challenges of implementing AKM. A total of 66 secondary school science teachers participated as respondents in this study. Respondents in this study were randomly selected based on their willingness to fill out a given survey. The data collection instruments were six open-ended questions. This instrument is distributed online using Google Forms. The data obtained were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study reveal that the majority of science teachers have the perception that AKM policy is appropriate and suitable for implementation. However, the availability of supporting facilities and ICT literacy of students and teachers is considered a challenge that must be met. On the other hand, AKM and National Assessment (NA) are considered opportunities to improve the quality of education both nationally and locally in schools. This research is expected to reference the perception of science teachers about the challenges and opportunities for implementing AKM policies in junior high schools

21st-century learning presents chemistry teachers with new challenges in teaching abstract chemistry concepts with various technologies that continue to develop. One of the media that can visualize abstract chemical concepts is Augmented Reality (AR). AR media developed in chemistry learning needs to be valid so that it can be used properly. Therefore, this study aims to examine the validity of the Android-based AR media developed. Four education practitioners carried out the validation as experts, and 13 students participated as respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively with the Rasch model using the facet software. The results of the analysis show that the Exact Agreements are 41.10%, and the Expected Agreements are 42.20%. The most challenging aspect to achieve is media design, while profit is the most easily agreed-upon aspect. Based on this assessment, in the development of augmented reality media, it is necessary to pay attention to display aspects and 3D objects suitable for viewing a material so that it is easier for users to understand the material.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran kimia berbasis problem based learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar. Penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan penarikan kesimpulan melalui analisis statistik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas XI IPA SMA 1 Wera.Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah efektivitas tes hasil belajar, uji N gain, uji dua sampel independen dan uji t. Data yang dianalisis berupa nilai hasil posttestyang dilaksanakan setelah pemberian perlakuan. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan uji dua sampel independen, kemudian dilanjut dengan uji t. Semua pengujian hipotesis dilakukan pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Data hasil belajar kognitif siswa dilihat dari nilai posttest kelas kontrol diperoleh 75,77 dengan standar deviasi 4,47 sedangkan untuk kelas ekspreimen diperoleh 79,75 dengan standar deviasi 7,12 dan ditunjukkan juga dari hasil nilai rata-rata gain untuk kelas kontrol sebesar 0,56 dan untuk kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,65 dengan kategori sedang. Hasil uji t diperoleh nilai 0,011 < 0,05 maka Ha diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. A skill needed in the 21st-century learning is scientific literacy (SL). Ethnoscience integrated inquiry-based learning (IBL) is expected to train the SL. The SL ability can be measured using an instrument. The purposes of the research were i) to produce a valid and reliable instrument on the ability to measure the SL using ethnoscience integrated IBL and ii) to know the item analysis results of the item test. The research method used was research and development (RnD) with instrument development. Data collection techniques were questionnaires and tests. The instruments of data collection were validation sheets and assessment instruments on SL ability. The data analysis technique used was both descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The qualitative analysis was aimed to determine the product quality using Aiken's V theory. The quantitative analysis aimed to determine the product quality empirically using Rasch model. A valid and reliable instrument was produced with 15 test items for additive substances topic with integrated ethnoscience in learning.

The Computerized Two Tier Multiple Choice (CTTMC) instrument has been created to mesure the bility of student in Integrated Science learning. This research was conducted to produce empirical evidence regarding the validity of the TTMC instrument using the Rasch Model analysis thorugh the Winstep program. A total of 283 junior high school students in the city of Surakarta were the research subjects. This assessment instrument consists of 20 questions. Statistical analysis was performed using the Rasch model. The results of the analysis show that in general, this assessment instrument can explain 40.7% of the variance that appears in each group of respondents. As many as 85% of the questions were declared fit and 15% of the questions still needed to be improved. Of the 283 participants, 13,4% had an ability misfit, 13,8% were included in the upper outlier, and 72,8% of the participants had an infit ability. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemilihan dan penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran IPA siswa tunarungu Kelas XI di Kabupaten Sukoharjo, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deksriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian adalah guru, siswa dan Kepala Sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Lokasi penelitian di SLB Kabupaten Sukoharjo, yang meliputi SLB ABCD YSD Polokarto, SLB B-C Hamongputro Jombor, SLB B-C YPALB Langenharjo dan SLB ABC Tawangsari. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, display data dan menarik kesimpulan. Kesimpulan disajikan dalam bentuk teks naratif berupa catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kurangnya ketersediaan media pembelajaran IPA di sekolah yang dapat guru pilih untuk mengajar IPA bagi anak tunarungu. Dalam penelitian ini juga menemukan minimnya frekuensi penggunaan media pembelajaran IPA yang tersedia selama pembelajaran IPA. Ditemukan juga guru-guru lebih banyak menggunakan media pembelajaran gambar dalam pembelajaran IPA di kelas.Kata kunci: pemilihan, penggunaan, media pembelajaran, IPA, anak tunarungu.ABSTRACTThis study aimed to describe the selection and use of media in science teaching deaf students of Class XI in Sukoharjo, Central Java Province. This study used a qualitative descriptive study. Subject of research data is a teacher, the students and the principal. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires, interviews, documentation and observation. SLB research sites in Sukoharjo district, which includes SLB ABCD YSD Polokarto, SLB B-C Hamongputro Jombor, SLB B-C YPALB Langenharjo and SLB ABC Tawangsari. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display and draw conclusions. Conclusions are presented in the form of a narrative text form field notes. The results showed a lack of availability of media science teaching in schools can choose to teach science teacher of deaf children. In this study also found the lack of frequency of use of science learning media provided for learning science. It was also found more teachers use instructional media images in science learning in the classroom. Key words: selection, use, media, science, children with hearing impairment.

Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM) merupakan bagian dari Asesmen Nasional yang merepresentasikan survey pengetahuan siswa dan kualitas Pendidikan Nasional. Pada AKM diukur kompetensi berpikir atau bernalar siswa ketika membaca teks (literasi) dan menghadapi persoalan yang membutuhkan pengetahuan matematika (numerasi). Selama ini guru-guru biasa menyusun instrumen tes yang berorientasi pada penguasaan materi, dan belum terbiasa untuk mengembangkan instrumen yang berorientasi pada literasi membaca dan numerasi. Terlebih, pada guru-guru Kimia yang dianggap memiliki kontribusi kecil pada keterampilan literasi dan numerasi. Oleh karena itu, pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penguatan kemampuan guru-guru kimia SMA di Kota Surakarta dalam menyiapkan instrumen AKM literasi membaca dan numerasi berbasis sains kimia. Kegiatan pengabdian akan dilakukan melalui pelatihan dengan bentuk penyuluhan, focus group discussion (FGD) dan pendampingan menyusun butir-butir soal instrumen literasi membaca dan numerasi berbasis konteks sains kimia. Sebanyak 33 orang guru kimia dari Surakarta berpartisipasi aktif sebagai peserta pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi terhadap program pengabdian yang dilakukan, sebanyak 63.6% peserta sangat setuju, dan 36.4% peserta setuju bahwa kegiatan yang dilakukan sangat sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Selain itu, sebanyak 72.7% peserta sangat setuju, dan 27.3% setuju bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka untuk mengembangkan instrumen literasi membaca dan numerasi berbasis sains kimia. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi para guru kimia dan bidang lainnya untuk dapat mengembangkan instrumen AKM berbasis konteks materi pelajaran
