Abstract

The classical philosophy of education holds a fundamental contribution to shaping the construction of the modern educational paradigm. Major schools of thought such as perennialism, essentialism, progressivism, and reconstructionism play a significant role in directing the development of contemporary educational orientations, both in curriculum formulation and pedagogical application. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the relevance of these classical philosophical traditions in the formation of the modern educational paradigm through a literature-based approach. The research findings indicate that the modern educational paradigm did not emerge instantaneously but is instead the result of an evolutionary interaction between classical philosophical principles and the continuously developing dynamics of socio-cultural change. Key concepts such as the pursuit of universal truth, the importance of mastering essential knowledge, learner-centered instruction, and the significance of critical education serve as foundational elements in the formulation of contemporary educational policies and practices. Thus, this study affirms that classical educational philosophy retains strategic relevance as a conceptual foundation for strengthening the development of a modern education system that emphasizes humanistic values, adaptive capacities, and transformative aims.

Abstract

Abstract

The resent study aims to analyze the role of satisfaction and motivation  for improving the work enthusiasm of civil servants  in the Sorkam Subdistrict Government Office. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational research design, with a sample size of 32 people. Data collection techniques were conducted through closed questionnaires, and data analysis, namely normality tests, multicollinearity tests, multiple regression analysis, determination coefficients, F and t tests using SPSS version 26 software. The results showed that job satisfaction and motivation had a positive and significant effect on the work motivation of civil servants. Some factors such as clarity of tasks, support from superiors, rewards for performance, and opportunities for self-actualization were proven to be able to substantially increase work enthusiasm. The findings indicate that strategies to increase work enthusiasm need to integrate psychological and managerial approaches in building work enthusiasm, but with a more humane managerial approach that pays attention to the emotional satisfaction and psychological motivation of employees.

Abstract

HIGHLIGHTS- Urban forests link biodiversity protection with public health and recreation- Five key research themes reflect ecological, social, and behavioral insights- Visitor experiences influence support for conservation and green behaviors- Most studies focus on the Global North, leaving tropical cities underexplored- A new framework shows how cities can balance nature, tourism, and well-beingABSTRACTIn the era of urbanization, urban forests play a crucial role in connecting biodiversity conservation and human well-being, providing recreational and tourism benefits in urban areas. This study aims to analyze the intersection of urban forests, biodiversity conservation, and their interaction with visitors, including preferences, perceptions, and behavior. We examine 83 open-access articles published between 2010 and 2025, retrieved from Scopus databases, and analyzed using bibliometric mapping and keyword co-occurrence analysis with VOSviewer, including clustering and thematic trends. This review identified five research clusters, which are (1) urban ecosystem and biodiversity, (2) recreational and ecotourism, (3) visitor preference and well-being, (4) human-nature interaction, and (5) behavioral science and health. Our results show that interdisciplinary studies on urban forests have been conducted since 2020, with a focus on environmental services, mental health, psychology, and pro-environmental behavior. However, research remains geographically biased toward the Global North, with limited representation from tropical and developing cities despite their rich biodiversity and rapid urbanization. This study proposes a conceptual framework that integrates the ecological and social dimensions of urban forest research. It emphasizes the need for place-based, behaviorally informed, and interdisciplinary approaches to maximize the multifunctional benefits of urban forests. As cities grow, urban forests, which serve as areas where people encounter biodiversity in the city, can act as strategic platforms for biodiversity conservation, community engagement, and enhancing public awareness and perceptions of the environment.
