Abstract

In today's modern era, technology is developing every year with various new technological discoveries. One of the leading technology manufacturing companies is Apple. Apple Inc. is a computer company founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak on April 1, 1976 and was originally named Apple Computer because it only produced personal computers, computer peripherals, and computer software in America. The MacBook, Apple's iconic laptop, has revolutionized the world of personal computing since its debut in 2006. In 2021, there was a phenomenon of the largest revenue record of all time in Q1 2021 after the release of the Apple Macbook M1 where Mac revenue jumped by 70 percent. Based on this background, this study was conducted to determine the factors that influence the purchasing behavior of the Macbook M1 in order to carry out future product development strategies. The data used was taken from Kaggle.com with a population of 133. The method used is the Binary Logistic Regression method using SPSS. The results of this study indicate that there are three very significant factors influencing the purchasing behavior of the M1 MacBook, namely the variables Brand trust, performance, and M1 Chipset with the percentage of the correctness of the model reaching an average of 74.4% to be able to predict purchasing behavior. So the recommendations that Apple can do to carry out future product development strategies are to increase and maintain brand trust, increase performance, and explore and develop the M1 Chipset.

Abstract

In the increasingly competitive soy sauce market, consumer loyalty and satisfaction are challenged by product quality, packaging issues, and corporate social responsibility. Despite Bango sweet soy sauce’s strong brand presence, limited research has analyzed consumers’ shared values and pain through an ethnographic lens. This study aims to explore how Bango creates shared value and addresses consumer pain points during purchase experiences. Using a realistic ethnographic method, the study involved participant observation and in-depth interviews with five consumers at the Berkah Azzahra store. Findings reveal that shared value is driven by Bango’s commitment to empowering local soybean farmers, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering emotional brand connections. Meanwhile, pain value is associated with packaging issues, particularly leaky plastic packaging that affects product hygiene and consumer convenience. These insights highlight the importance of maintaining product authenticity while addressing practical consumer concerns. The study implies that continuous improvements in packaging, alongside strengthened CSR programs, can enhance consumer trust and loyalty. For companies like Unilever, this research offers a strategic foundation to refine marketing and product development initiatives based on real consumer experiences.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the financial performance of global banks in each cluster for the years 2019 and 2023. In addition, this study is also to find out the position of Indonesia's banks compared to global and ASEAN banks in 2019 and 2023. Methodology: The analysis model used is that the formation of clusters is based on the ratio of CAR, LDR, NIM, ROA and ROE. Testing was carried out with the K-Means model using SPSS. Findings: The results of the study show that in general, global banking performance in 2023 is better than in 2019 in 4 clusters out of 5 clusters. However, the number of banks in the Very Good and Good cluster has decreased in 2023 compared to 2019. In addition, the number of banks in the Very Bad cluster also increased in 2023 compared to 2019. Implication: The increase in the number of banks in the Very Bad cluster needs to be a concern, because the improvement in performance is not as good as other global banks. Local bank supervisory authorities, including the Financial Services Authority in Indonesia, need to pay attention to the performance of banks in the Very Poor cluster. Originality: This study provides additional information about the condition of banks compared to their peers in 2019 and 2023 at the global, ASEAN and Indonesia levels for bank management, investors and also authorities.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to assess the valuation for the acquisition, which is a strategic goal focused on improving performance through product diversification. By acquiring PT Prima Globalindo Logistik Tbk (IDX: PPGL), PT Pelayaran Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari Tbk (IDX: ELPI) intends to broaden its product portfolio by incorporating PPGL’s existing offerings. The study utilizes a quantitative approach, which involves gathering numerical data and analyzing it with statistical methods. The goal is to determine an appropriate transaction structure and price for PT Prima Globalindo Logistik Tbk (IDX: PPGL) in the acquisition by PT Pelayaran Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari Tbk (IDX: ELPI). A successful execution of this corporate action requires careful calculations to improve the performance of the purchasing company and achieve its primary objective. One of the research objectives is to determine the valuation of PT Prima Globalindo Logistik Tbk (IDX: PPGL) as a business. The Free Cash Flow to Firm (FCFF) method is a suitable approach for valuation in a corporate context. This method, along with other financial measures, is used to estimate the cash generated by the company. To forecast the company's financial performance for the next five years (2024-2028), an analysis of PPGL's financial reports from 2021 to 2023 is necessary. Based on this analysis, the book value of PPGL is IDR 341,912 million, or IDR 443 per share, when calculated using the FCFF method. In comparison, the market value of equity as of December 2023 is IDR 102 per share, which is lower than its book value, resulting in a Price-to-Book Value (PBV) ratio of 0.23. Given this market value and the conditions in the logistics industry, it is recommended to proceed with a buy action for the transaction.

Abstract

This study analyzes the potential assessment of company acquisitions in the Oil & Gas sector for investment decisions by comparing changes in financial performance segmentation from 2021 to 2022. The method used is K-Means Clustering analysis to classify companies based on indicators such as Net Profit Margin, Return on Equity (ROE), and Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER). Data from 33 Oil & Gas sector companies were analyzed, revealing that two companies experienced significant performance improvements (PT Ratu Prabu Energi Tbk and PT Sugih Energy Tbk), one company showed a decline in performance (PT Super Energy Tbk), while the remaining 30 companies remained relatively stable. The findings of this study provide insights for investors in determining acquisition strategies, where companies with improved performance indicate good growth potential, while those with declining performance require further evaluation and may become acquisition targets. This research contributes to the financial and investment management literature by offering a comprehensive analysis of changes in financial performance segmentation in the Oil & Gas sector. The findings serve as a valuable reference for decision-makers in formulating more optimal investment strategies.
