Abstract

A professional teacher -  the one who does not only master the subject, but also be competent in selecting certain model – is really needed to carry out the teaching and learning process.  One of the alternative learning models that may activate students is Student-Centered Learning (SCL).  This model provides students with the opportunity to actively participate independently in his learning, be responsible and initiate to his learning needs.

Abstract

This research paper examines the sustainability of democracy in Southeast Asia, focusing on Indonesia's Presidential Election as a case study. The region's diverse political landscape has undergone significant transformations influenced by globalization, civil society movements, and international pressures. As the largest country in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is a crucial example of a nation transitioning from authoritarian rule to democracy. Through qualitative and quantitative research methods, the study analyzes key variables influencing Indonesian democracy, such as democratic institutions, civil society participation, political parties, decentralization, socioeconomic factors, ethnic diversity, and international relations. Findings highlight the complex interactions of these variables in shaping the sustainability of democracy in Indonesia and offer broader implications for the region. While progress has been made in democratic consolidation, political instability and corruption persist. Understanding the complexities of democracy in Southeast Asia provides valuable insights for policymakers and advocates, emphasizing the need for continued dialogue and cooperation to promote sustainable democratic practices and foster regional stability and development.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the blended learning model in developing countries through a literature review. Blended learning, which combines face-to-face and online learning, is believed to have the potential to improve the quality of education. Studies show that this model can increase learning motivation, provide a variety of learning resources, and enable more active interaction between students and teachers. However, the implementation of blended learning in developing countries faces significant obstacles, including problems with technological infrastructure, limited internet access, and technological readiness among both students and teachers. This study emphasises the need for multidisciplinary collaboration in terms of improving technological infrastructure, training in technological skills, and providing adequate educational resources so that the implementation of blended learning can be more effective. The results of this study are expected to provide insights for policy makers and educators in implementing and optimising the blended learning model in developing countries.

Abstract

This This training aimed to improve the understanding and skills of new students in writing citations and bibliographies using the Turabian style with Mendeley Desktop, using practical training methods and intensive mentoring. The training results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' technical competency. Prior to the training, all new students reported difficulty distinguishing between Turabian footnote and bibliography formats and had never used a reference manager. After participating in an introductory session on Turabian style and a Mendeley installation practice, participants were able to input references manually and via PDF import. They also successfully used the Mendeley plugin in Microsoft Word to insert citations (footnotes) and automatically generate a bibliography. Evaluations showed that 95% of participants successfully compiled a bibliography correctly formatted according to Turabian guidelines, without errors in name order or punctuation. Participants reported increased confidence and efficiency in completing academic assignments that require rigorous source citations. This success confirms that the combination of technical training and practical mentoring is effective in equipping new students with essential information literacy and reference management skills throughout their studies.

Abstract

This study discussed the effectiveness of using multimedia in children's learning after the pandemic. To prove which zodiac sign is effective in multimedia learning, we have conducted a series of scientific publication studies on several books and other scientific literature that actively discuss issues related to the effectiveness of multimedia in learning Covid paste. The study involved a data coding system, evaluation, and conclusion to get a valid answer to this hypothesis—the data search we did electronically on several kinds of literature released ten years ago. After a series of studies and discussion of the results, we can conclude that multimedia-based learning is one of the innovative learning because it involves a variety of relevant media for elementary school learning for elementary school children. After all, learning has been disrupted. Thus, this discussion received essential and valuable input for further studies

Abstract

Teaching abstract concepts in science, such as atomic structure, chemical reactions and biological systems, often faces fundamental challenges due to the limitations of conventional visualisation methods, resulting in low levels of conceptual understanding and student motivation. This article aims to outline the integration of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and gamification in developing interactive simulations to visualise these abstract concepts in an immersive and engaging manner. The methods employed include a literature review relevant to the TPACK model, the SAMR model, and Mayer’s multimedia principles. The research findings indicate that VR creates a fully immersive environment for microscopic and macroscopic scientific exploration, whilst AR overlays interactive 3D elements onto real-world contexts; both enhance spatial ability by up to 45% and memory retention by up to 80%. The integration of gamification through badge mechanics, quests, and leaderboards reinforces intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in line with Self-Determination Theory, with a 93% increase in cognitive-emotional-behavioural engagement and an N-gain score of 0.63–0.78 in the Indonesian case study. The synergy of these three technologies, framed by TPACK-SAMR-Mayer, transforms science learning from passive and abstract to active and concrete, preparing students for the Merdeka Curriculum and the Society 5.0 era. Strategic recommendations include TPACK-gamification-based teacher training, the development of an open-source content repository in Indonesian, subsidies for mobile AR devices, and longitudinal research into long-term impacts. This integration marks a paradigm shift towards immersive science education that is personalised, adaptive, and globally competitive.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the use of ICT-based learning models on students’ learning motivation at Darul Falah High School. The object of the research was students of Class X of Darul Falah High School, namely to see whether students’ abilities in ICT-based learning in geography subjects increased students learning motivation. The research method used is the classroom action research method. The term classroom action research emphasizes class as a research setting. The research developed was in the form of a cyclical review process consisting of four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation and (4) reflection. The results of this study are students’ learning motivation before participating in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning. There is no enthusiasm for learning. Students chatted more, did not focus on the lesson, and did not want to discuss and do assignments well. There is no competition to get good grades, and learning objectives have not been achieved. Understanding of the subject matter has not appeared. Implementing ICT-based learning provides benefits, including being more practical and making it easier for teachers to deliver subject matter. Students find it easier to access information related to the subject matter. This is supported by facilities and infrastructure in schools that support the ICT-based learning process, namely the existence of internet facilities.
