Virtual Laboratory are frequently measured effective learning tools, meanwhile their visual and concept power empower students to better known physical structures and phenomena. However, in previous research has not been much developed Virtual Physics Laboratory that is used to measure the character education of students. This research aims to Influences and apply Virtual Physics Laboratory (VPL) for assessment millennial character education with System Recording Students Character (SRSC). The study focused on the VPL Conceptual Change of Character Education test results. The sample consisted of 60 students’ whose age ranging from 20 to 21 years old with research design Randomized post-test only experiment group. Data to draw conclusions of research results, collected through the provision of concept tests. Conceptual Change data of Character Education that will be obtained from both groups are searched for the average Gain. Specific targets to be achieved in this research are innovations in the development of assessment tools that are valid and easy to use and can be done with Virtual Physics Laboratory for assessment millennial character education with System Recording Students Character can be done anytime and not limited by time. The result of the research showed that the N-gain mastery of the experimental group concept was 0,33 (32,6%) The conclusions of VPL with SRSC research can be used in the evaluation of physics learning because of the quality of the material according to expert judgment in the category of "excellent" and effective in facilitating assessment to character education of students.

The research on increasing the level of understanding of the kinetic theory of gases concepts for prospective physics teacher students through interactive demonstration methods with the help of a variety of visual media has been carried out. This study aims to determine the increase in the level of students’ understanding of the kinetic theory of gases concept through interactive demonstration methods with the help of various visual media. The method used was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 76 prospective physics teacher students at a university in the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi. The test instrument used was a concept understanding level test in the form of an essay consisted of three questions. The results showed that most of the students reached a complete understanding level of the kinetic theory of gases after attending a basic physics course through interactive demonstration methods with the help of various visual media. Thus, the level of students’ understanding of kinetic theory of gases concept has increased through interactive demonstration methods with the help of various visual media.

Understanding Physics Concepts is a concern for every learning process and physics practicum. The development of various physics practicum concepts in the Inquiry Lab or Project Based Lab models contributes to the Students' Concept Understanding Level. This study was conducted to determine the level of conceptual understanding of students on the concept of fluid through project-based laboratory. The method used is pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest design. The subjects of this study were 22 prospective physics teacher students at one of the universities in Banda Aceh City. The test instrument used is a level test of concept understanding in the form of a stratified description consisting of the ability to explain the concept (P), the ability to determine the laws of physics (Q), ability to provide additional case examples of related laws (R) and define those laws (S). The results showed that students achieved an understanding of fluid concepts at the level of complete understanding (CU) after participating in a project-based laboratory. Therefore, it can be concluded that the level of understanding of physics concepts effectively increases to achieve complete understanding through project-based laboratory.

PENUMBUHAN DAN KARAKTERISASI FILM TIPIS ZnO YANG DIDEPOSISI DENGAN TEKNIK SPIN COATING DIATAS SUBSTRAT SILIKON. Telah dilakukan deposisi film tipis ZnO di atas substrat Si (001) dengan teknik spin coating, sebagai kandidat lapisan anti refleksi sel surya silikon. Zinc acetate dehydrate, 2-methoxyethanol dan mono ethanolamine berturut-turut digunakan sebagai material dasar, pelarut dan penstabil.Kekristalan filmtipis ZnOhasil deposisi dikarakterisasi menggunakan X-RayDiffractometer (XRD). Hasil karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan bahwa puncak intensitas pola difraksi sinar-X terjadi pada 2-theta sekitar 34,40 derajat, bersesuaian dengan orientasi bidang kristal (002). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa film tipis ZnO hasil deposisi memiliki orientasi kristal tunggal ke arah sumbu-c, vertikal terhadap permukaan silikon. Kualitas kekristalan filmtipis ZnO ditentukan berdasarkan nilai Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM) puncak intensitas pola difraksi sinar-X dan ukuran rata-rata butir kristal. Nilai FWHM ditentukan dengan bantuan software Microcal Origin sedangkan ukuran rata-rata kristal dihitung dengan menggunakan formula Debye-Scherrer berdasarkan data hasil karakterisasi XRD. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa FWHM film tipis ZnO yang dideposisi pada temperatur 700 oC nilainya relatif kecil yaitu sekitar 0,39 nm dan ukuran rata-rata kristalnya sekitar 21,33 nm. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dari segi kekristalan film tipis ZnO hasil deposisi memiliki kualitas yang cukup baik. Nilai FWHM dan ukuran rata-rata butir kristal film tipis ZnO nilainya berubah ketika temperatur deposisi (T) diubah.

Abstrak: Keterampilan menulis materi ajar perlu dilatihkan kepada mahasiswa calon guru selama masa studinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan stategi menulis materi ajar multimodus representasi. Dengan menerapkan strategi tertentu diharapkan mahasiswa calon guru fisika meningkat dalam hal keterampilan menulis materi ajar fisika yang di dalamnya menyajikan gabungan dua atau lebih modus representasi. Metoda yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metoda penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development Methods). Tahap-tahap yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini meliputi studi pendahuluan, perencanaan, mengembangkan rancangan strategi pembelajaran, ujicoba pendahuluan, merevisi produk dan ujicoba utama. Dengan menggunakan metode R D telah dikembangkan strategi menulis materi ajar multimodus representasi yaitu Triple Step Writing Strategy (TS-WS). Ujicoba pendahuluan (pleriminary field testing) menggunakan metode pre-experiment desain the one group pretest-posttest design. Ujicoba utama (main field testing) menggunakan metode quasi-expeiment desain randomized pretest-posttest control group design. TS-WS sudah diujicobakan pada mahasiswa calon guru fisika yang berusia rata-rata 21 tahun pada sebuah LPTK di Bandung. Ujicoba pendahuluan melibatkan 15 mahasiswa calon guru fisika dan ujicoba utama 45 mahasiswa calon guru fisika. Untuk mengukur keterampilan menulis materi ajar multimodus representasi mahasiswa ditugaskan untuk menulis materi ajar multimodus representasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TS-WS efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis materi ajar multimodus representasi mahasiswa calon guru fisika. Triple step writing strategy: Improving multimode representation teaching material writing skills of preservice physics teacher Abstract: Writing teaching material skills need to be taught to the preservice teachers during their studies. This study aims to develop strategies to write multiple modes of representations teaching materials. By implementing these strategies, it is expected that preservice physics teachers are able to write physics teaching materials that present a combination of two or more modes of representation. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R D) method. The stages of R D methods carried out in this study include research and information collecting activities, planning activities, developing learning strategy designs, preliminary field testing, main product revision, and main field testing. Using the R D method, a strategy has been developed to improve writing teaching material skills. Preliminary field testing used the one-group pretest-posttest design pre-experiment method. Main field testing used a quasi-experiment design randomized pretest-posttest control group design method. The strategies have been tested on preservice physics teachers who were on average 21 years old at an LPTK in Bandung. The preliminary field testing involved 15 preservice physics teachers and the main field testing was 45 preservice physics teachers. To measure the skills of writing multiple modes of representation teaching materials students are assigned to write multimodal representation teaching materials. The results showed that TS-WS was effective in improving the skill of writing multimodal representations of teaching materials for pre-service physics teachers.
THE USAGE OF KIT-FOR-KIDS IN DISCOVERY LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE THE UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENCE TEACHING MATERIALS ON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

This research was conducted to find out the increased in understanding of elementary school students' teaching material through the use of kits for kids on discovery learning models. This research used quasi-experimental method using the matching only pretest and posttest control group design. The learning process in the experimental group applies the discovery learning model with kit for kids while the control group applies traditional learning. Learning take place during two meetings, both in the experimental group and control group. Each learning process is conducted the observation process of the implementation of learning activities. The subjects in the experimental group were 23 students and in the control group were 22 students. The research instrument uses multiple choice tests. Data analysis techniques used n-gain mean data and U Mann-Whitney SPSS Version 22 non-parametric test. The results showed that the increase in understanding of teaching materials on students who received discovery learning model assisted with a kit-for-kid was higher than students who received traditional learning.Keywords: Discovery Learning; Understanding Teaching Material

The purpose of this study was to understand the effect of Predict Observe and Explain (POE) strategy toward students’ conceptual change about density of water. This study was conducted because many students have a conception which is not in accordance with the scientific conception of the water. The subjects used in this study were 34 students on 5th grade students in one of primary schools in Bekasi. Research method was pre-experiment method and the design is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The instrument used to view the level of student’s conceptual change was a pretest and posttest with four-tier diagnostic test. Test answers were then will be adjusted to conceptual change category consisting of five levels of conceptual change are construction, revision, complementation, static, and disorientation. The results showed that conceptual changes in students given treatment using POE strategy were at the construction level 2% (students were able to construct their understanding), revision 84% (students were able to make improvements (revisions) to their initial understanding), and static as much 14% (Students cannot change their understanding to a better understanding). These results show that the majority of students experience conceptual change after learning to use the POE strategy. Keywords: Strategy; POE; Conceptual Change

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran daya tahan retensi siswa pada pokok bahasan asas black dan pemuaian dengan menerapkan pembelajaran SAVIR. Penelitian ini juga melihat bagaimana keterlaksanaan pembelajaran SAVIR. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design dengan pemberian posttest sebanyak tiga kali dalam selang waktu antara posttest beberapa hari. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa pada kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kecamatan Payakumbuh, Sumatera Barat dengan jumlah 28 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran meningkat pada setiap pertemuan. Diperoleh y= 1,05e-0,01x pada grafik eksponensial daya tahan retensi siswa pada pokok bahasan asas black dan y=e-0,01x. pada pokok bahasan pemuaian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran SAVIR dapat mempertahankan retensi siswa pada pokok bahasan asas black dan pemuaian.

Communication in science is multimodal (verbal and visual). Representation skills are one of the communication skills in science. A physics teacher is required to have representation skills so that the students more easily to acsess the concept that they have to lean and the teacher communicate physics concepts more easily to his students. This study examines the representation skills of preservice physics teacher. Three aspects of representation skills, that examined are: 1) the skill of making a single mode representation, 2) the skills of translation between representation modes and 3) multi-representation skills. The instrument used to measure representation skills has been validated and used to measure representation skills of preservice physics teacher in Listrik-Magnet courses. The results showed that the preservive physics student have difficulty in making all of the aspect of representation. It is occured because there has never been learning related to representation or assessment skills that specifically test their representation skills
