Abstract

Among the problems of learning Arabic in Indonesia is the low pedagogic competence of teachers, which can be improved by attending regular and planned training. The purpose of the article is to understand (1) the need for Arabic teachers for instructional training (2) to measure the correlation between teacher needs and training with gender and educational background. This research is descriptive quantitative, using a questionnaire instrument. Data analysis using the SPSS program. The results showed a significant difference between the mean score of the study sample and the hypothetical mean in lesson planning. There is a significant difference between the average score of the study sample and the hypothetical average in the implementation of the lesson. There is a significant difference between the mean score of the study sample and the hypothetical mean in the learning technique. There was no significant difference between the samples in Arabic teacher training needs other than the gender variable. There is a significant difference between the Bachelors and Masters groups in learning technology, and not in other educational backgrounds.

Abstract

Industrial developments have brought many significant changes in various fields of life, especially agriculture and education. It seems that the transformation of the agricultural sector and fishpond farming in Medang Village, Glagah, Lamongan are affected by the catfish folklore that keep the people concerned for generations. This is a phenomenological research and the results are descriptive and qualitative. The data are described and interpreted hermeneutically. The results indicate that the catfish folklore contains a number of educational values that dynamically developed along with the people's beliefs about the folklore as a myth. This transformation of educational values includes: the value of ubudiyyah, the value of the struggle in the life; and the moral value. This transformation occurs through the intervention of many parties, both internal and external ones, such as the local government, the elders, the community leaders  as well as educators. Other factors are technological development and the development of the fishery industry. This research suggests the stakeholders of the village level, districts, and regencies to make the folklore as a medium in learning the educational values. The society, especially the fishpond farmer at Medang village are suggested to preserve the folklore without preventing it to be known. The scholars and the artists can also bring this folklore to life and present it in a more interesting format, both in a pure and classic appearance and in collaboration so that it can be presented as a myth that has a profound meaning.

Abstract

Abstract

Language environment has been used as an Arabic learning strategy. However, not every strategy is successful in improving Arabic language competence. This article aimed at understanding: (1) the phenomenon of the establishment of Arabic language environment in higher education, and (2) the contribution of Arabic language environment in improving language competence through the language acquisition process. So far, these aspects were neglected in previous studies. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study model. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. They were analyzed in detail since the beginning of collection, description and reduction, and verification. The results showed that the establishment of language environment at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was carried out by establishing student dormitories, native speakers and student activity forums such as Arabic camp, public lectures, debates, discussions, public speaking, learning outside the classroom and competition. The influence of the Arabic language environment on the language acquisition is indicated by the students' speaking ability after 6 months of learning Arabic, participation in Arabic competition, writing Arabic scientific papers, and using Arabic in learning meetings. In conclusion, it turns out that the establishment of an Arabic language environment can be carried out in universities and can improve Arabic language competence. This article provided suggestions for effective use of the Arabic language environment as a language skill learning strategy.

Abstract

Purpose - This research stems from the problem of the difficulty of learning the Arabic language, and the reason may be due to the lack of benefit from the social media that is now open. This is research aims to (1) to know the teaching of Arabic through social media at Al-Azhar Institute Pare Kediri (2) to know the lack and advantages of teaching Arabic through social media at Al-Azhar Pare Kediri Institute. Design/methodology/approach - The research design is descriptive-qualitative research. The data gained are written words and sentences from the novel that imply an educational value. Findings - The results of this are research that learning Arabic through social media in Al-Azhar is not organized. Well, because learning using social media is not included in the objectives of learning Arabic at Al-Azhar Institute Pare Kediri. On the other hand, to participate in online learning, Al-Azhar Institute Pare Kediri opens the program through Zoom application instead of social media; (2) Knowing the advantages of learning through social media at Al-Azhar Institute Pare Kediri is like an institution that has many Arabic language learning programs. As for the lack of learning Arabic through social media in Al-Azhar, social media has not been used optimally for Arabic language learning programs. Abstract

The aim of Arabic learning for the Indonesian people is not only to understand religion. In fact, Arabic learning has undergone a change in orientation towards a more perfect direction. The purpose of this article is to understand (1) the orientation of Arabic learning in tertiary institutions, (2) models of transformation of Arabic learning in higher education based on a new orientation of Arabic learning. So far this aspect has not been paid attention to in existing studies. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis model. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. Data were analyzed from the start of data collection, then data description and data reduction, then verification in detail. The results of this study indicate that there is a change in orientation in learning Arabic in Indonesian universities, which previously only oriented maharah qira'ah to understand religious texts, to become perfectly oriented to master the four language skills. A new transformation model is being carried out by several universities that teach Arabic, characterized by intensive learning using a modern curriculum and the availability of an appropriate language environment. In conclusion, it turns out that learning Arabic in Indonesia leads to a better direction if it is consistent with a new orientation and follows the development of language learning in other worlds.

Abstract

Language competence of students when learning Arabic is very little noticed by Arabic language learners because it is very difficult for students to apply to what they learn from Arabic verbally and editorially. This study aims to describe the types of linguistic errors in Arabic writing and the reason for this error among Arabic learning in al-Muhsinin boarding schools. This study uses Henry Tarigan's qualitative error analysis method which consists of four stages: identifying errors, classification of errors, explaining errors, and evaluation of errors. This study also uses Miles and Huberman method in identifying the causes of the occurrence of error, namely: observation, interview, and documentation. The Documentation used in this studies is: student notebook in translate lessons (tarjamah), student notebook about holiday. The results of this study cover several aspects, namely grammatical errors, mistakes in choosing the right Arabic vocabulary, and cultural errors in writing Arabic in accordance with the grammar in Arabic. Linguistic errors obtained are as follows: students' mistakes determine nakirah and ma'rifah, ifrod, tas'niah and jamak, irob, kalimat azzaidah and kalimat an-naqisah. The errors in the selection of the right Arabic vocabulary are: 1) Using the word "Takrir ad-Dars" in the sentence repeating learning, 2) Using the word "Istagraqo" in time-consuming sentences. The causes of errors in writing Arabic are: students' ability to master Arabic vocabulary is very low, lack of governance in Arabic (Nahwu and Sharaf). From some of the results presented above can be an evaluation material for Arabic learners, especially in the learning of writing skills.

Abstract

تناول الباحثون في هذ البحث حول: 1) كيفية إدارة بيئة اللغة في معهد الرحمة بمالانج 2) و عملية إدارة البيئة اللغوية في معهد الرحمة بمالانج. في هذا البحث باستخدم البحث الكيفي والدراسة الوصفية التحليلية التي هي ذات منهج إداري تربوي. وتتمثل تقنية جمع البيانات في إجراء المقابلات ومراقبة برنامج إدارة البيئة اللغوية في معهد الرحمة للتحفيظ بمالانج. وحصل الباحثون عن البيانات من بعض معلمي وإداريي برنامج اللغة العربية في معهد الرحمة للتحفيظ بمالانج. وتوصل الباحثون أن في معهد الرحمة للتحفيظ البيئة اللغوية الاصطناعية التي تتمثل من الأنشطة التعلمية والتعليمية في الفصول، والبرامج اللغوية منها: وجود قسم اللغة الذي يسأل جميع الأمور اللغوية في المعهد ووجود مشرف اللغة ومحرك اللغة. وأما كيفية إدارة البيئة اللغوية في معهد الرحمة للتخفيظ تبدأ من ‌تخطيط البرامج اللغوية ثم تعيين المدرسين والمشرفين ثم تصميم الجدول ثم تنظيم البيئة اللغوية ثم تنفيذ البيئة اللغوية وكيفية الآخر من عملية إدارة البيئة اللغوية تعني مراقبة برامج البيئة اللغوية في هذا المعهد.

Abstract

تعتبر مهارة الكتابة من أهم المهارات اللغوية، لأن إتقان هذه المهارة تنمي مستوى المهارات اللغوية الأخرى. ومن ضمن إستراتيجيات تعليم مهارة الكتابة هي تحليل الأخطاء الكتابية التي وقع فيها الطلاب كثيراً. يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل الأخطاء الكتابية في نصوص إلقاء الكلمات لدى طلاب الإعداد اللغوي بجامعة الراية سوكابومي، وتصنيف أنواعها، ووصف نسبة الأخطاء الكتابية فيها، وذكر أسباب وقوعها. يستخدم هذا البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. وتوصل هذا البحث إلى نتائج تالية: (1) الأخطاء الكتابية في نصوص إلقاء الكلمات 73 خطأ: 40 خطأ في الإملاء، و22 خطأ في التركيب، و8 أخطاء في التعبير، و3 أخطاء في كتابة الأدلة. (2) أنواع الأخطاء الكتابية: أخطاء الإملاء، وأخطاء التركيب، وأخطاء التعبير، والأخطاء في كتابة الأدلة. (3) نسبة الأخطاء الكتابية: 54.7% في الإملاء، و30.1% في التركيب، و10.9% في التعبير، و4.1% في كتابة الأدلة. (4) أسباب وقوع الأخطاء: أولاً: أسباب أخطاء الإملاء: ضعف استيعاب القواعد، وقلة التدريبات، والأخطاء في النطق، وعدم الحرص في التطبيق. ثانياً: أسباب أخطاء التركيب: ضعف استيعاب القواعد، وقلة التدريبا، وعدم الفهم الجيد للنص، وعدم الانتباه من السماع من المرجع الصوتي. ثالثاً: أسباب أخطاء التعبير: ضعف التذوق اللغوي، والتعود على سماع التعبير الإندونيسي، وعدم ممارسة التعبير العربي. رابعاً: أسباب الأخطاء في كتابة الأدلة: عدم التأكد من المرجع الأصلي، وعدم حفظ تلك الأدلة وفهمها. الكلمات المفتاحية: تحليل الأخطاء، مهارة الكتابة، اللغة العربية، جامعة الراية

Abstract

There are problems experienced by students in learning Arabic, especially Nahwu and I'rab skills. This study aims to (1) develop Nahwu material using Qur'anic texts to improve the I'rab skills of students of Ma'had al-Aimmah al-‘Ali Malang, (2) determine the feasibility of the developed Arabic Nahwu material, and (3) measure the effectiveness of the application of the developed material. This study was research and development and analyzed using the five steps of ADDIE; analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Qualitative data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation, while quantitative data was collected using a questionnaire. The results of this study were 1) Nahwu material was developed based on the analysis of student needs to relate Nahwu material to the Qur'anic text. The material was designed using several selected Qur'anic texts, consisting of ten lessons. Each lesson came with objectives, content, exercises, and evaluations. The product was evaluated twice, before and after application. 2) The material developed is valid for testing, according to experts' evaluation of the material categorized as very good. 3) After the material was tested on students, it was effective in improving I'rab skills. Finally, the Arabic Nahwu materials development through the Qur'anic texts achieved the outstanding results obtained by students through the application of the developed materials, namely: improvement of I'rab skills, ease of memorizing the Qur'an, and language understanding.
