The phenomenon of mobile-based online games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has become part of students’ digital lives, including those at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This game functions not only as entertainment but also as a digital communication platform through its interactive features. This study aims to analyze the impact of Mobile Legends use on students’ social interactions. A quantitative approach was employed, using surveys distributed to 50 FISIP students. Results indicate a significant relationship between the intensity of playing Mobile Legends and changes in patterns of social interaction, both in terms of reduced face-to-face communication and the expansion of digital social networks. Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has significantly influenced parenting styles and the behavior or morality (akhlak) of children, especially among Generation Alpha—those born between 2010 and 2025 who grow up in an era where information is instantly accessible. This development presents both opportunities and challenges, particularly the threat of moral degradation caused by exposure to negative content. Islam, as a religion that promotes peace, emphasizes that the family serves as the first school for children, with parents as their primary educators. Surah At-Tahrim verse 6 explains that believers have the responsibility to protect themselves and their families from the torment of Hellfire. When connected to Islamic family education, this implies that parental responsibility and supervision encompass not only worldly matters but also spiritual (ukhrawi) dimensions. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. The findings indicate that the spiritual responsibility of parents as role models remains relevant in the digital era, serving as digital mentors who can apply Qur’anic values as foundational principles.

Abstract

The development of digital technology requires government agencies to be more open in conveying information to the public. The Palembang City Communication and Information Agency, as the institution responsible for managing public communication, plays an important role in ensuring that information disclosure is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 14 of 2008. This study aims to describe the public relations strategies of the Palembang City Communication and Information Agency in managing public information disclosure and to identify the factors that support and hinder this process. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through semi-structured interviews and participatory observation. The results show that public relations strategies are implemented through the stages of fact-finding, planning and organizing, action and communication, and evaluation. Public relations combines digital and non-digital channels to expand the reach of information, but still faces obstacles in the form of literacy gaps, limited resources, and unequal access to information. Overall, the strategies implemented have supported efforts to increase public transparency, although strengthening is still needed in terms of equal access and information education so that information disclosure can truly be felt by all levels of society.

Abstract

The development of information technology and the increasing use of social media have changed the way the government conveys information to the public, one of which is through Instagram, which has now become a means of publication and transparency for government agencies. In this context, the Public Relations Office of the Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo) of Palembang City plays an important role in ensuring that information about government programs, activities, and policies can be published quickly, accurately, and easily understood. This study aims to analyze the role of the Public Relations Office of Diskominfo in publishing government activities through Instagram using a descriptive qualitative method through semi-structured interviews and field observations. The results of the study show that the Public Relations Office functions as a communication facilitator, expert advisor, communication technician, and liaison between the government and the public through the preparation of verified photo, video, infographic, and informative caption content before publication. The Public Relations Office also actively responds to questions and criticism from the public as part of two-way communication. However, there are obstacles such as limited human resources, the high volume of activities that must be published, and the demand for quick responses. These findings emphasize the need to strengthen team capacity and optimize social media management so that the publication of government activities through Instagram is more effective and consistent.

Abstract

Introduction The management of mosque funds in Indonesia during the Old Order period (1945-1965) played a vital role in religious and social life. Mosques became central to national identity and cohesion, supported by Ad Hoc committees. This study examines the balance between state control and local autonomy in mosque fund management.ObjectivesThis study investigates the dynamics of mosque fund management in the Old Order period, focusing on the roles of Ad Hoc committees and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. It aims to explore how state intervention and Islamic charitable practices like zakat and waqf influenced mosque sustainability and governance.MethodA historical methodology is used, involving four stages: heuristics (source identification), verification (source cross-checking), interpretation (data analysis), and historiography (situating the study in literature). Primary and secondary sources, including government records and newspapers, are analyzed to understand mosque fund management during Indonesia's early independence period.ResultsFindings reveal a balance between local autonomy and centralized state control in mosque fund management. Ad Hoc committees fostered community involvement, while the Ministry of Religious Affairs centralized governance, affecting local autonomy. Islamic charitable practices, particularly zakat and waqf, were crucial for mosque sustainability but faced governance challenges.ImplicationsThis study highlights the need for balancing government regulation with local community participation in mosque management. It also emphasizes the significance of Islamic charitable practices, suggesting that integrating local needs with state oversight can lead to more sustainable and transparent religious institution management.Originality/NoveltyThis research contributes new insights by examining mosque fund management during Indonesia's Old Order period, focusing on the interaction between local governance and state control. It offers a unique historical perspective on the challenges and successes of mosque management, enriching the understanding of post-colonial religious governance.

Abstract

This study explores the formation of children’s character in Islam through a thematic analysis of Surah Luqman verses 13–16. The background of this research is rooted in the increasing moral degradation among Indonesian children, which is manifested in various alarming behaviors such as violence, juvenile delinquency, immorality, bullying, and conflicts within educational institutions. These conditions highlight the urgency of integrating spiritual-ethical values into character education in a more systematic, sustainable, and transformative manner. The aim of this research is to formulate a comprehensive conceptual understanding of Quranic-based character formation and to examine its pedagogical implications for contemporary Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative library research method using content analysis of primary sources—including the Qur’an, classical and modern tafsir, and relevant hadith—as well as secondary sources such as academic books, peer-reviewed journals, and prior empirical studies. The findings reveal that Luqman’s counsels to his son present a multi-dimensional framework of character formation comprising: (1) tawhid education as the core spiritual foundation that warns against polytheism and its ethical consequences; (2) filial piety (birr al-wālidayn) which promotes moral responsibility toward parents while upholding theological principles; and (3) spiritual consciousness of divine surveillance, emphasizing that every human action—no matter how small—is accountable before God. The study concludes that effective implementation of Islamic character education requires a holistic approach that integrates spiritual, cognitive, emotional, and social dimensions through exemplary conduct, consistent habituation, and constructive communication. Furthermore, the collaboration among family, educational institutions, and the broader community serves as a decisive factor in nurturing a morally upright and resilient young generation. This research contributes a systematic conceptual model for strengthening character education based on Islamic values in addressing contemporary moral challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perception of the people of Gombak, Malaysia towards spiritual guidance at Persra Ibadah Hospital. The background of the research departs from the importance of spiritual services in supporting the patient's healing process, along with a holistic approach that includes physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving interviews and observations of the Gombak community. The results of the study show that the majority of people have a positive perception of spiritual guidance, because it is considered to be able to provide inner peace, spiritual motivation, and help patients in carrying out worship when sick. However, some people also consider that socialization and promotion regarding the role of spiritual guidance is still not optimal. This study concludes that spiritual guidance at Persra Ibadah Hospital needs to be strengthened through the development of more systematic programs and the dissemination of information to the community.
