Abstract

Self evaluation is a crucial tool in Islamic education management for achieving continuous improvement in the quality of learning and institutionalizing the value of muhasabah. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the implementation of self evaluation management in efforts to improve learning in the Formal Diniyah Education Program (PDF) Wustho at the Darussalim Islamic Boarding School. The research method employed was a qualitative case study using data collection techniques through triangulation, which included in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving leaders, administrators, educators, and administrative staff. The research findings indicate that self evaluation has been conducted periodically through semesterly coordination meetings involving all levels of the organization, where active discussions take place to identify the program’s strengths and weaknesses. However, the effectiveness of its implementation remains hindered by the absence of standardized assessment instruments and a data management system that is still dominated by manual methods. It is concluded that although evaluation practices have been carried out routinely, there is a significant gap between conventional methods and the demands of modern educational management. Therefore, a transformation is needed through the digitization of information systems and the standardization of evaluation instruments to support data-driven decision-making for the measurable optimization of student learning quality.

Abstract

The values of the Banjar community have changed as a result of the modernization of bahuma practices. The purpose of this research is to examine the consequences of the modernization of bahuma practices on social, economic, and environmental issues. The study took place in Banjar Regency's Kertak Hanyar District's Banua Hanyar Village. The descriptive qualitative method was used for data gathering through in-depth interviews with chosen informants. In order to increase the validity of the results in this investigation, supporting data was gathered. The study's findings indicate that factory and property owners gain financially from modernization. The decline in employed labor during the harvest season is a significant contributor to this rise in earnings. But because of the substitution of human labor, paid employees have a hard time making ends meet on a daily basis. Landowners suffer losses as a result of the environmental harm caused by the usage of machines and chemical fertilizers. The peatland surface area decreases significantly every year as a result of heavy machinery operations. The peat soil's structure is inadequate to bear the machines' massive load. The sustainability of the rice field ecosystem at the research location is seriously jeopardized by combine harvesters. Additionally, the fertility of agricultural land is adversely affected by the regular application of synthetic fertilizers. The dilemma between short-term economic efficiency and environmental sustainability is brought about by the modernization of agricultural methods. A sustainable technological strategy that considers the long-term well-being of the surrounding population is necessary.

Abstract

Islamic institutions face unprecedented pressures in the era of Society 5.0, where the convergence of advanced technologies with human-centered values demands a fundamental transformation of organizational governance. This conceptual study examines the pivotal role of leadership in fostering governance innovation within Islamic institutions, framed by the principles of Islamic governance (al-Maqasid asy-Syari'ah) and the imperatives of digital leadership. Through an integrative literature review drawing on empirical studies, theoretical frameworks, and contemporary discourse on Islamic management, this article argues that transformational and digital leadership serves as the primary catalyst enabling Islamic institutions to transition from conventional bureaucratic governance models toward adaptive, evidence-based, and transparent governance structures. The findings reveal three intersecting dimensions: (1) Society 5.0 compels Islamic institutions to integrate physical and virtual spaces through technology while preserving Islamic values; (2) Islamic governance, rooted in principles of shura (consultation), 'adl (justice), amanah (trust), and siddiq (integrity), provides an ethical corrective to secular governance models; and (3) transformational leadership bridges technological potential with organizational competencies, creating sustainable value aligned with Maqasid asy-Syari'ah. This study contributes a synthesized framework for Islamic institutional leaders navigating the tensions between technological disruption and spiritual identity, offering practical implications for governance reform in Islamic educational and philanthropic organizations.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of school accreditation as a fundamental instrument for quality assurance in basic education in Indonesia through conceptual, legal, and operational analysis. Using library research with a qualitative approach, this study analyzes the concept of accreditation within the quality assurance framework, the legal basis of which includes Law No. 20 of 2003, Government Regulation No. 19 of 2005, and Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology No. 246/O/2024, as well as the implementation system which encompasses eight national education standards. According to the study findings, accreditation acts as an external evaluation tool that supplements the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI),, but its implementation faces multidimensional challenges including disparities in educational unit capacity, limited assessor competency, and data engineering practices. Strategic recommendations are formulated including strengthening the Total Quality Management approach, revitalizing competency-based assessor training, and optimizing internal quality audits. This research contributes to the development of accreditation policies that can encourage substantive transformation of the quality of basic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Islamic educational planning has an important role in directing how the education system is managed so that set goals can be met successfully, smoothly, and in a lasting way. This study examines the basic concepts, urgency, objectives, benefits, and various approaches in Islamic educational planning. Using a literature review method, this research looks at different related literature and analyzes it through content analysis to identify patterns of thought and the frameworks of approaches used. The result show that Islamic education planning is a structured approach to setting up educational policies, priorities and strategies while taking into account social situations, economic factors and community requirement. Several approaches that can be applied include the social needs approach, the labor market approach, the cost-benefit approach, the cost-effectiveness approach, the systems approach, and the integrated approach. Comprehensive and contextual planning is anticipated to enhance the quality of Islamic education while creating graduates who are intellectually advanced, able to adjust to change and of good character.
