Abstract

Posdaya is one element of a section within a community. One of the fields contained in it i.e. the education. Early childhood education is one of the methods or the way done by the Posdaya to develop their community. Therefore the purpose of this activity is to find out the role of Posdaya in the development of early childhood education in Kampung Batu Hulung, Bubulak Vi, district of Bogor Coal through SUIJI-SLP (Six University Initiative Japan Indonesia – Service Learning Program). Abstract

Mekarsari village as a village located in Neglasari Village which has various potential natural resources in the agricultural sector that was developed. At present the horticultural commodity intensification activity in the form of fruit plants in Neglasari Village has been carried out, namely guava planting. The purpose of this activity is to study the differences in the level of sweetness in the growth of guava crystals and red guava as well as the sweetness level factors in guava in Kampung Mekarsari, Neglasari Village, Dramaga District, Bogor Regency, West Java Province through the Six Universities Initiative Japan- Indonesia Service and Learning Program (SUIJI-SLP) 2020. The type of data used in this activity is primary data obtained through direct interviews with guava farmers, village officials, and the people of Kampars Mekarsari, Neglasari Village and secondary data obtained from those from from several agencies. Testing the sweetness of the fruit is done using a refractometer. Based on the results of tests that have been done, the TSS (Total Suspended Solid) test on red guava was 7.22% brik, while the TSS (Total Suspended Solid) test on crystal guava was 8.35% brik. The difference in the level of sweetness is caused by several factors, such as the use of KCL fertilizer which can increase the level of sweetness and vitamin C content in fruit maturation and fruit control from pests by wrapping using white HDPE plastic on crystal guava affects the quality of the guava. Abstract

West Java is the second-largest producer of guava (Psidium guajava L.) in Indonesia. One of the cultivars that are quite popular with the community is the guava crystal. Farmers in Neglasari Village have begun to cultivate guava crystals with alley croping cultivation techniques. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of alley croping in the cultivation of guava (Psidium guajava L.) in Neglasari Village. The method used in this activity is interviews, field observations, and literature review. Interviews were conducted directly with farmers while observing on cultivated land. Information from interviews is strengthened by conducting a literature review of sources relevant to the topic. Utilization of intercrops has the advantage of providing additional income for farmers, especially during the immature period, reducing the level of land erosion, increasing the availability of nutrients in the soil, and helping control pests and diseases in plants. Abstract

Neglasari Village is one of the villages producing agricultural products where most of the community work as crystal guava farmers who plant it with a monoculture or intercropping system. Farmers produce crystal guava products to sell it to consumers in order to earn profits through marketing activities. This activity aims to analyze the marketing chain system of crystal guava and analyze the gross marketing margins on every marketing actors of crystal guava in Neglasari Village. The method used in this activity is the interview method and strengthened by literature review. Interview data were analyzed qualitatively descriptive. There are three marketing chains for guava crystal that farmers can choose from, that is selling directly to consumers, selling through Poktan or Gapoktan, and selling through collectors (middlemen). From that three channels, the marketing chain by selling directly to consumers has been proven to provide the highest gross marketing margin to farmers while the lowest margin is obtained if it is through middlemen. This report is expected to be a policy reference in improving the marketing system of guava crystals in Neglasari Village on effort to improve the welfare of marketing actors, especially farmers as producers. Abstract

Education is an effort to humans develop knowledge and potential, superior human resources (HR) is affected of external and internal factor, external factor is environment, culture and teacher whereas internal factor is family. The family has a function for as good place in carrying private and social education. Indonesia’s education index still in the low position, meaning that it need a support not only from the government but also the role of the family. This report aim to analyze the effect of social support on student in Neglasari village. The methods used in this research are interview, observation and literature study. Communities in Neglasari still lack of understanding related to education, on the one hand the community hopes that children can continue their study to the higher level but have are limited by family economic problem. Child friendship environmental factor can affect education, negative environmental factors have a risk not continue grade and graduating from school. Lack of parent motivation as a child ages have an affect decrease children motivation.

Abstract

Education is not only a matter of things in school but also of things outside the school. Familyand parents are the place where the children can get their first education so that their role is very bigin their children's education going forward. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect ofparents' socio-economic status on children's education levels in Neglasari. This study uses aqualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques. The data collection technique was snowballand the data presented were in the form of primary data that results analyze from interviews withrespondents. The results showed that the socio-economic status of parents in Neglasari did not affectthe level of children's education but motivation from the children and parents' concern for children'seducation influenced the level of children's education.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to explain VUC organization communication factors whichare the key in improving the VUC performance, (2) to explain VUC organization communicationfactors that become the key in developing the VUC capacity, and (3) to formulate defined strategyin improving the VUC quality service as the agricultural economic organization for agriculturalmechanization development. Active category of VUC sample as analysis unit was determinedby each of five VUC samples at Karawang and Cianjur District. From each VUC sample, thirtyrespondents that use rice milling of VUC, were taken. This research was designed using surveymethod with multi analysis approaches, they were: descriptive analysis and path analysis usingSEM (Structural Equation Model) analysis with LISREL analysis support. The primer andsecondary data were collected from December 2009 to March 2010. The result of this researchshowed that (1) according to the similarity test model referring to the goodness of fit criteriafrom SEM analysis showed that VUC organization communication model is good, (2) level ofperformance, capacity, and quality of VUC service at Karawang and Cianjur District classifiedas low,(3) determinant factors which have real influence on the low performance and capacityof VUC are low quality of information, inconvenient organization communication environment,and low intensity of public organization communication, (4) determinant factors which have realinfluence on the low quality of VUC service are low quality of VUC personnel characteristicand weak VUC organization communication process, and (5) improvement strategy of VUCquality service should be done by developing VUC organization communication model throughagricultural information system development in the centers of agriculture production in eachrural area towards modern agriculture.

Abstract

This research aim were: (1) To recognize the communication behavior of cattle farmers in searching information, (2) To analyze the level of farmer participation in cattle farmer communication network, (3) To explore the relationship between individual characteristics, (4) To explore interpersonal communication behavior and mass media utilization in cattle farmer communication network. The results showed that: (1) There was a significant difference of communication behavior between the advanced cattle farmers group and the less advanced one. This result informed the distinction of mass media used by cattle farmers in searching information i.e. interpersonal communication relationship in receiving and diffusing information and impersonal communication (media communication) behavior, particularly from television, broadcast and newspapers. (2) There was a significant relationship between formal education characteristic and impersonal communication behavior (television and radio and newspaper). There were significant relationship between economic class and newspaper impact behavior, between mass media ownership and television impact behavior, between education level and mass media ownership with the information search behavior. Individual characteristics of advanced farmers group have negative correlation with the information distribution behavior. Advanced farmer group were characterized by: well educated, higher economic class, more variety of mass media ownership, have more capability to select information according to their needs, profit oriented, risk taker, cosmopolites, have a communication pattern and good relationship among cattle farmer group. All of those characteristics caused un-proper of information diffusion

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of entrepreneurships training for new entrepreneurs using the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process and Product). Data collected by questionnaires from 164 training participants who were randomly selected proportionally according to participant’s district origin in Bogor Regency West Java. The results showed that the Entrepreneurships Training for New Entrepreneurs was declared effective in the Context, Input, and Process dimensions. However, in the Process dimension, the Entrepreneurships Training for New Entrepreneurs is less supported by the availability of facilities and infrastructure, the suitability of learning media and learning methods. As for the Product dimension, the Entrepreneurships Training for New Entrepreneurs is less effective, especially in changing the mental attitude of training participants, application of skills and business performance of training participants. In general, the implementation of the Entrepreneurships Training for New Entrepreneurs can be declared effective. The recommendations that can be conveyed is the need to improve the quality of the implementation of Entrepreneurships Training for New Entrepreneurs in the future.

Abstract

Abstrak Generasi Cerdas Iklim (GCI) merupakan gerakan sosial yang bergerak di permasalahan perubahan iklim. Generasi Cerdas Iklim sendiri secara badan hukum merupakan yayasan dan sebelumnya merupakan komunitas. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis perilaku komunikasi gerakan sosial yang dilakukan GCI. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancara kepada satu informan kunci (key informant) dan lima informan lainnya. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa keresahan akan banyaknya masalah dan bencana serta korban yang disebabkan oleh perubahan iklim merupakan latar belakang gerakan sosial yang dilakukan dan tidak dipengaruhi oleh kondisi elite politik di tingkat lokal hingga nasional.  Anak-anak usia Sekolah Dasar menjadi target komunikasi utama GCI dalam memberikan pendidikan tentang iklim, perubahan iklim serta cara beradaptasi dan menghadapi bencana perubahan iklim. Komunitas GCI menggunakan metode pembelajaran campuran untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran sukses kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik. Sukses kognitif dicapai oleh GCI dengan melakukan observasi untuk mengetahui potensi, permasalahan dan kearifan lokal di masing-masing daerah. Metode tanya jawab digunakan agar siswa dapat memahami permasalahan yang ada disekitarnya dan dampak yang terjadi, kemudian penjelasan materi dasar, pengenalan emosi dan siklus hujan disampaikan dengan menggunakan presentasi power point, drama dan alat peraga. berupa permainan ular tangga dan puzzle. Sukses afektif diraih oleh GCI dengan mengadakan diskusi untuk mencari solusi permasalahan dan praktik langsung seperti pemilahan sampah, pembuatan pupuk organik hingga pembuatan kerajinan majalah dindin. Terakhir, pencapaian sukses psikomotorik diraih oleh GCI dengan mengajak mahasiswa mengasah kemampuannya dalam kegiatan praktikum, pemberian tugas dan pemberian penghargaan.  AbstractThe Climate Smart Generation (CSG) is a social movement that works on climate change issues. It is a legal entity in the form of a foundation and previously was a social community. This study aims to analyze the communication behavior of the organization. Researchers applied a qualitative approach, data were collected by interviewing one key informant and five supporting informants. The results indicated that anxiety about the numerous problems, disasters, and victims caused by climate change is the background of social movements that are carried out by the Climate Smart Generation (CSG. It is not influenced by the conditions of the political elite at the regional to national levels. Elementary school-age children are the main communication targets of this organization in providing education about climate, climate change, and how to adapt and deal with climate change disasters. This organization employs mixed learning methods to achieve cognitive, affective, and psychomotor success learning goals. Cognitive success is pursued by making observations to find out the potential, problems, and local wisdom in each region. They also apply the question-and-answer method to make their target audience understand the problems around them and the impacts that may occur. Furthermore, the explanation of the basic material, the introduction of emotions, and the rain cycle is delivered using PowerPoint presentations, dramas, and props in the forms of the “Snakes and Ladders” board game and puzzles. Affective success is pursued by holding discussions to find solutions to problems and direct practices. Finally, psychomotor success is pursued by inviting college students to hone their skills in practicum activities and assignments.
