Abstract

            The problems of the degenerative diseases such as heart attacks and diabetes in Indonesia become a threat to public health and require alternative food like black rice. Black rice is an excellent commodity that potential to resolve these health problems, therefore these matter become a challenge for the local government for its development. This study examines the policy communication process in the development of black rice farming in Sirampog Sub-district, Brebes District. The used data came from reporting news on online media and field data from interviews that were analyzed using NVivo 11. The study results showed that the importance of local government commitment of Brebes, facility support, effectively communication process, and sustainable development. Effective communication in the form of participatory communication is to increase community involvement in developing black rice programs. The communication patterns design need to pay attention the main factors such as improving the quality of black rice, cultivation to maintain the purity of local varieties, changes in cropping patterns and application of agricultural technology. By the communication process of participatory program, government policies, and publications from online media has the opportunity to increase the development of black rice farming in Brebes Distric.

Abstract

Radio komunitas didirikan untuk melayani kepentingan dan kebutuhan komunitas. Akan tetapi, dalam perkembangannya, radio komunitas tidak dapat sepenuhnya beroperasi sesuai aspirasi anggotanya. Radio komunitas juga harus beradaptasi dengan beragam perkembangan agar dapat mempertahankan kelangsungan eksistensinya. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Radio Komunitas Dapur Remaja (RKDR) di Cinangka, Sawangan, Depok, Jawa Barat ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji gap komunikasi antargenerasi dalam pengelolaan radio komunitas di perkotaan setelah generasi kedua memimpin manajemen. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis kritis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui FGD, wawancara mendalam, dan observasi lapangan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terjadi gap komunikasi antara pengelola baru dengan anggota komunitas lama, yang disebabkan adanya perubahan pola interaksi komunikasi secara sosial dan budaya, yang berdampak pada perbedaan pemahaman mengenai pengelolaan radio komunitas. Pengelola radio komunitas, yang merupakan generasi muda, dianggap kurang mengakomodasi kegiatan komunitas sebelumnya dan lebih fokus memikirkan strategi baru untuk mendulang profit dari radio komunitas, sehingga partisipasi komunitas, nilai-nilai dan kepentingan komunitas kurang diperhatikan.

Abstract

Development does not always have a positive impact on the surroundings, but also negative impacts often occur. Social change of society one of them is the impact of the development. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze how the development and social change of Bekasi society takes place from the perspective of discourse in the mass media. The method used is to use qualitative data analysis that comes from news in mass media. The reports were analyzed using Nvivo 11 software assistance. The results of the analysis revealed that the government needed to review and evaluate the permit for the development of apartments and the area, because it had a major social change effect on the surrounding community. From the news in mass media shows that the surrounding communities are much negatively affected by the development. The media agenda, the government agenda and the public agenda are related to the occurrence of social change.

Abstract

AbstractIndonesian presidential election campaigns had been held by the candidates and the campaign team respectively from June, 4th-July, 5th 2014. This study was aimed to know the extent of utilization of communication channels both mass media and social media (new media) as source of information, compared with interpersonal communication channel, and how the level of utilization of the information sources by voters during the political campaign influenced the level of political participation in Cibinong. This study had been conducted in September-Oktober 2014 at Sub-District of Cibinong, Bogor Regency. A number of 200 people were chosen as respondents by using purposive sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed with Spearmans Rank correlation test. Results showed that political participation in the engagement of campaigns as well as the surveillance were poor, while the participation in voting was quite good. In the variable of demographic characteristics, a negative significant correlation was found between political affiliation and the campaign engagement and so between the birthplace and voting engagement. On the contrary, the variable of age, income, and education had no correlation with all dimensions of the campaigns engagement. All dimensions of demographic characteristics including sex, birthplace, and environment had a significant negative correlation with political participation. The indicator of sex and birthplace had a significant negative correlation with the amount of source of information use. The in dicator of birthplace also had a significant negative correlation with the frequent of accessing campaign sources of information. The utilization of campaign sources of information had a significant positive correlation with political participation in the dimension of the engagement in the campaign, voting, and surveillance for the election .Keywords: Political participation, source of information use, political campaign

Abstract

The most forward elements of the bureaucracy, dealing directly with farmers and spearheading the development of agriculture is the agricultural extension. Its presence is very important in determining the success of development activities of farmers. The purpose of this study to (1) determine the effect of emotional intelligence and motivational variables on the performance of agricultural extension; (2). determine the effect of emotional intelligence and motivation variable partially on the performance of agricultural extension (3). proving variables emotional intelligence has a dominant influence compared to the performance of agricultural extension motivation. The research is a kind of survey of the Department of Agriculture agricultural extension Tanggamus. The analysis technique used: multiple regression analysis to determine the effect of the independent variable (X) studied both together and partially to the dependent variable (Y). As for the multiple linear regression model should qualify the common assumptions of regression to test heteroscedasticity, autocorrelation and multicollinearity. Based on the analysis of F test proved that the independent variable in the form of emotional intelligence(X1),motivation (X2)has a significant influence on the performance variable (Y) so that the first hypothesis is accepted. While based on t test results proved that the X variable partially significant influence to variable Y so that the second hypothesis is accepted. The dominant independent variables affect the performance is not a variable motivational variables emotional intelligence so that the third hypothesis is rejected.

Abstract

This research explains that family communications pattern, function of socialization, form of communication happened in family who live in setlement and family who live in countrified. Method which in using in this research is descriptive survey method and data in analysis applies Chi square (X²) statistical with program SPSS version 1600. Result of research indicates that family who live in setlement and family who live in more countrified tends to mengunakan family communications pattern Laissez-faire which in combination with family communications pattern pluralistik, pattern pluralistik in combination with pattern konsensual. Function of socialization at family who live in setlement is more usingly is active socialization and family who live in countrified more usingly is passive socialization. Form of communication verbal is more in using in countrified while family who live in setlement is more usingly is form of communication verbal and nonverbal.

Abstract

Aquaculture is a fishery activity that produces aquatic biota (organism) in a controlled environment that aims to benefit. Freshwater fish is one of the economically valuable aquaculture commodities. Bogor Regency is one area that has developed freshwater aquaculture. One of the villages in Bogor Regency which has tried to breed freshwater fish is Sukawening Village. The purpose of this activity is to observe and analyze the models or techniques of freshwater fish farming applied, as well as the potential for development which is located in Sukawening Village, Dramaga District, Bogor Regency, West Java Province through the SUIJI-SLP program. The method applied is a field study through observation and interviews supplemented with secondary data using literature study. The results of these observations and analyzes indicate that the model of freshwater fish farming applied in Sukawening Village is still relatively simple and on a small scale. This condition is due to lack of supporting facilities without capital and lack of in-depth knowledge related to freshwater fish farming. Keywords: aquaculture, Sukawening Village, freshwater fish

Abstract

Animal husbandry is a form of business activity to create prosperity. In practice, each breeder has its own way of building a vision that is sharing knowledge with others. A communication pattern is considered to be a very important part of knowing how the knowledge transfer process can proceed properly. Therefore, the study aims to analyze the characteristics of breeder group members, patterns of communication between livestock group members, and the effectiveness of livestock group performance. The research method was carried out in a quantitative survey through a questionnaire and data collection by interview techniques. The results obtained are: 1) a general description of the characteristics of members of the Ngudirejeki livestock group dominated by middle-aged men with the last education of high school graduates and have low experience of raising livestock and moderate livestock ownership (4–7 cattle); 2) more often apply interpersonal communication patterns; and 3) have a high level of effectiveness in performance with a group alert status of 93.3%. Abstract

Sukawening Village is a village with excellent natural potential. The number of sheep farmers in Sukawening Village was originally 15 breeders, but currently there are only 4 breeders left, namely Mr. Ujang, Mr. Haerudin, Mr. Ranta, and Mr. Manim. Analysis of the behavior patterns of the peoples sheep Sukawening Village was carried out to observe the behavior patterns of the peoples farmers in implementing sheep maintenance management, such as the application of good farming practice (GFP) properly. The analysis of peoples sheep behavior patterns in Sukawening Village was carried out through direct interviews by interviewers and interviewees by asking questions related to sheep rearing management. Good sheep raising by following the standards in the GFP, such as pens and equipment, breeds and reproduction, feed and drinking water, management, and animal health. Pak Haerudin is a sheep breeder of Sukawening Village who has implemented several GFPs properly, such as applications in cages and equipment, feed and drinking water, and their management. Peoples sheep breeders in Sukawening Village carry out traditional maintenance management and have not been touched by knowledge either in terms of maintenance or marketing.
