Abstract

The increasingly dynamic business environment compels modern service companies to continuously strengthen their competitive advantage. Despite extensive studies on strategic and digital capabilities, empirical research that simultaneously integrates strategic planning, business innovation, digital transformation, and organisational agility—particularly within the modern service sector—remains limited. This study aims to examine the effects of these four strategic factors on the competitive advantage of modern service companies in West Java Province. This research adopts a quantitative causal approach using a survey method. Data were collected from 134 managers of modern service companies across financial services, tourism, transportation, education, and information and communication technology sectors. The data were analysed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that strategic planning, digital transformation, and organisational agility have positive and significant effects on competitive advantage. Conversely, business innovation exhibits a significant negative effect, suggesting that innovation initiatives that are not strategically aligned or organisationally prepared may undermine competitiveness in service-oriented firms. The model demonstrates strong explanatory power, with the independent variables jointly explaining a substantial proportion of the variance in competitive advantage. This study contributes to strategic management literature by providing empirical evidence on the differentiated roles of strategic, digital, and organisational capabilities in shaping competitive advantage within the modern service sector. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of prioritising strategic clarity, adaptive capability, and purposeful digitalisation, while managing innovation selectively to ensure alignment with organisational readiness and market needs.   Keywords: strategic planning; business innovation; digital transformation; organisational agility; competitive advantage; modern service companies

Abstract

Tourism in Indonesia is a new field of science in the academic field. After the official recognition of tourism as a science in 2008, there was a significant development of tourism education in Indonesia at both the high school and university levels. However, in its implementation there are still some obstacles in the implementation of this education, both in terms of human resources (HR), teaching facilities, curriculum, as well as the absorption of graduates in related fields as well as synchronization with industry. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data processing is based on literature and document studies regarding the development of tourism education nationally and globally. Other data collection was also carried out through interviews with tourism education providers. The results showed that solving the existing problems required efforts and commitment from across sectors such as government, industry, academia, and society. Thus the current road map for tourism education is not only seen as a science but can also make a real contribution, namely improving the welfare of the community. Abstract

Tourist revisit intention is a key element of the success of the tourism industry. This study analyzes the relationship between media richness and revisit intention, with perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, perceived aesthetics, and satisfaction. A survey was conducted on 240 tourists at a local tourism destination themed “tourist village” using a bipolar adjective scale. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with partial least square using SmartPLS 3.0. The findings indicate that media richness influenced perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, and perceived aesthetics. Perceived enjoyment and perceived aesthetics then influenced satisfaction. Meanwhile, perceived usefulness did not influence satisfaction. Tourist satisfaction ultimately influenced revisit intention. These findings highlight the importance of media richness in 2D visual media that can create positive tourist perceptions, increase satisfaction, and encourage repeat visits to local destinations. This study provides practical insights for tourism managers to utilize digital media by focusing on media richness, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, perceived aesthetics, and satisfaction to improve destination competitiveness.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing users' continuance intention (CI) in fintech mobile payment services, particularly in the post-COVID-19 era. With the rapid adoption of digital payment methods, the research examines key determinants such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust, security and privacy, satisfaction, and habit. An explanatory quantitative research design was employed, analyzing data from 101 respondents. The results reveal that habit and satisfaction are the primary drivers of continuance intention, while traditional factors such as ease of use and trust become less significant in the post-adoption phase. These findings challenge established models and highlight the shift in user behavior towards habitual use and emotional satisfaction. This study contributes to the literature by offering an integrated model for understanding user retention in the fintech sector and provides practical insights for fintech providers to enhance customer engagement and foster long-term loyalty.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to investigate the influence of entrepreneurship education at the university level on the development of students’ entrepreneurial skills, with a particular focus on the potential moderating role of entrepreneurial family background. As entrepreneurship education becomes increasingly prioritized in higher education, understanding how familial entrepreneurial exposure interacts with formal education is crucial for shaping effective curricula. Methodology: Quantitative research approach was adopted, using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The study involved a sample of 189 university students in Padang, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a validated Likert-scale questionnaire measuring students’ experiences with entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial skills development, and family background characteristics. The analysis was conducted using SmartPLS to explore both direct and moderating effects. Main Findings: The results revealed that entrepreneurship education has a significant positive impact on students’ entrepreneurial skills development. Surprisingly, students’ entrepreneurial family background did not exert a direct influence nor moderate the relationship between education and skills acquisition. The findings emphasize that while family background may offer exposure, formal entrepreneurial training is critical for equipping students with practical and theoretical competencies. Furthermore, a supportive academic environment emerged as a key factor in enhancing students’ entrepreneurial capabilities. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This study introduces a new perspective by exploring the often-overlooked moderating role of family background in the Indonesian context. It offers empirical evidence that challenges assumptions about the primacy of family influence, reinforcing the necessity of structured entrepreneurship education to nurture future entrepreneurs in diverse socio-cultural settings.

Abstract

This study examines how digital marketing affects the consumer behavior and buying decisions of Generation Z in Uzbekistan. Using a Systematic Literature Review based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, peer-reviewed articles published from 2015 to 2024 were collected from Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The review focuses on digital marketing, social media marketing, influencer marketing, and related behavioral responses among young consumers. The results show that visual and interactive online content has the strongest influence on Generation Z in Uzbekistan. Platforms like Instagram , TikTok, YouTube , and Telegram work best with short videos , content made by users , and recommendations from influencers . Young people are more likely to buy something from a brand if they trust it and believe it is real. People use social media a lot, but direct ads don't work as well as recommendations from friends and electronic word-of-mouth . Overall, digital marketing has a strong impact on the behavior of Generation Z consumers in Uzbekistan, and strategies focused on authenticity, cultural relevance, and meaningful engagement are more effective than intrusive advertising.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in entrepreneurship education has expanded rapidly following the launch of ChatGPT however, empirical evidence regarding its effectiveness and implementation challenges remains fragmented. This study synthesizes empirical evidence on AI integration in entrepreneurship education through a systematic literature review following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. A Scopus database search yielded 186 articles, with 25 empirical studies meeting inclusion criteria. Findings reveal neural networks and generative AI as dominant technologies, with neural networks applied in nearly half of the studies and generative AI in more than a quarter. Experiential learning emerged as the most effective pedagogical approach. Entrepreneurial self-efficacy was confirmed as a key mediator between AI and entrepreneurial intention, with consistently strong path coefficients and large effect sizes across studies. AI integration consistently enhanced entrepreneurial intention, self-efficacy, and knowledge acquisition. However, a notable decline in self-perceived creativity indicates potential deskilling risk. Primary challenges include limited technical infrastructure, faculty readiness, and ethical concerns. The concentration of studies in China constrains cross-cultural generalizability. This study proposes the Integrated AI-Entrepreneurship Education Model (IAEEM) as a conceptual framework and provides practical recommendations for higher education institutions to optimize AI integration while mitigating potential risks in developing students' entrepreneurial competencies effectively.
