Abstract

Kata Kunci: Pesantren, kepemimpinan wanita, kyai, nyai Women have involved in pesantren since many years ago whether as students or as teachers. Many studies revealed the history of the involvement of women in this educational institution which is stated that it started in 1916. However, the long engagement in this institution does not meant that women will have same opportunity in the management level since most of pesantren is chaired by a kyai (a man). This article based on the field research at two pesantren located in Gresik East Java and Brebes Central Java. In addition, data was gathered through documentary study. Finding of the research shows that nyai (wife of the kyai) lead a pesantren for female students, meanwhile a kyai is the top leader for both pesantren for male and female students. In the management, nyai is in the second level under the kyai. She has authority to run female pesantren and teach female students. Keywords: Pesantren, female leadership, kyai, nyai

Research instruments are: 1) online learning implementation questionnaire; and 2) Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) 42. The research sample was 328 students from 11 study programs at Binawan University who met the inclusion criteria using a simple random sampling technique. The results of research on the implementation of online learning were at a good level (75%), the majority of students' depression levels were at normal depression levels (56.1%), students' anxiety levels were mostly at normal levels (33.2%), and students' stress levels were also mostly at normal levels (66.8%), with a p-value of the correlation between online learning and depression level is 0.12 (>0.05), online learning and an anxiety level is 0.2 (>0.05), and online learning with stress level is 0.01 (< 0.05). The conclusion is that there is no relationship between the application of online learning and levels of depression and anxiety, and there is a relationship between online learning and the stress levels of students at Binawan University. It is suggested to improve and develop more effective online learning strategies and systems for students, and there is a need to do a stress management training for students so they can adapt better in dealing with stressors during online learning.

Abstract

Stunting is a growth and development disorder due to lack of nutritional intake, recurrent infections characterized by body length or height below standard. Toddlers with stunting will have a lower level of intelligence, be susceptible to disease and delayed mental development. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of stunting in children aged 0-59 months in the Meureubo Health Center Working Area, West Aceh Regency. The method used is observational with a cross sectional research design. The population in this study were mothers who had toddlers aged 0-59 months in the Meurebo Health Center Working Area, West Aceh district, totaling 2296 people. Determining the number of samples used the Slovin formula with the Stratified Random Sampling technique, totaling 95 people. Data was collected using a questionnaire to measure maternal knowledge and anthropometry to measure body height. Determining whether or not there is stunting is assessed using the child's Z-Score standard. In this study, univariate analysis was carried out which was presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. Next, bivariate analysis was carried out between the two variables using the Chi Square statistical test. Results The chi square test shows that maternal knowledge (0.000) is related to stunting in toddlers. It is hoped that the Meureubo Community Health Center will further improve health promotion in the form of education regarding the causes and prevention of stunting.

Abstract

Teachers of Islamic education in Indonesia have some problems. On the one hand, they are required to meet the standards of qualification, competencies, and certification. On the other hand, they have over-working hour due to the imbalance between the number of the teachers and the students. This fact will undoubtedly affect their work quality. The work quality of the teachers can be measured by five kinds of competences: pedagogic, personality, social, professional, and leadership. This research is aimed to measure the five competences of the teachers of Islamic Education in Senior High Schools and Senior Vocational Schools (both SMA and SMK) in Central Java, and it is also to examine the hypothesis that there is no significant difference in teachers’ competences in terms of their status: civil servants (PNS) or not (non-PNS), and certified or not. By using quantitative approach, the research has two important findings. The first, the competency of the Islamic teachers in Central Java is on the medium level which have a score at 2.95 on a scale of 4.00. The pedagogic competence occupies the highest level with 3.25, in contrast the social competence is on the lowest one with 2.9. The second, there is no significant difference in competences between the teachers who are civil servants and those who are not. On the contrary, there is a significant difference in competences between the teachers who are certified and who are not certified yet.

Abstract

This article concerns on the notion of responsibility to protect (R2P) in Syrian war and what can be expected from the Muslim community. This theme is important to be discussed for the reasons that crisis in Syria has been occurred for almost nine years since it began in March 2011 and it has no end sign in the immediate time. In addition, it caused hundred thousand civilians dead, million people become displaced persons. In addition, the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian war was against the international laws. This paper was written based on the data that was collected using documentary study. Findings of this research reveals that the Syrian civil war had involved various parties including the government, insurgent groups, international fighters, and several countries like the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Russia, some European countries, and other states. This made the situation very complex. The Muslim communities through international organization such as Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) should actively participate in implementing the R2P which include protecting people, promoting human rights issues, and preventing further mass killing as well as military protection.
