Abstract

Nusyuz, which is textually understood as a wife who does not obey her husband, does not permit her husband when she wants to leave the house and the permissibility of husbands hitting their wives, which is considered legal by the Qur'an as stated in Q.S. An-Nisa: verse 34, improper interpretation, it leads to physical and psychological violence in the household and leads to disharmony and even triggers divorce. All forms of violence against spouses are not legalized in either the positive legal value system or Islamic law.  The purpose of this research is to discover how the concept of nusyuz and alternative solutions to nusyuz are allowed and their handling from the perspective of Islamic law and positive law. This research uses a library research method (normative law), and uses a descriptive analytical research type, and the research results are analyzed qualitatively, by examining existing regulations. Both women and men can commit Nusyuz, a husband can be said to have committed nusyuz if he relinquishes his responsibility towards his wife. Beatings carried out by husbands against nusyuz wives based on surah An Nisa 34, are not freely legalized but only to awaken and return the wife to obedience, not blows that cause pain and even injure. Positive Law contained in Law No. 23 of 2004 concerning Elimination of Domestic Violence is very firm in not allowing beatings and eliminating domestic violence and even criminal sanctions for perpetrators, both husband and wife.

Abstract

Temper tantrums are emotional outbursts such as screaming while rolling on the floor, kicking, banging your head against the floor or wall, hitting yourself or others, crying, cursing. The impact of temper tantrums on children can pose a risk of injury, if they occur in the environment of friends of the same age it can affect the development of children of their age, because the characteristics of children imitate what they observe. Parenting style is a factor in the occurrence of temper tantrums. This study aims to determine parenting patterns of temper tantrums in pre-school children. This type of analytic observational research with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Insan Madani Meukek Integrated  Preschool in December 2022. The research sample is 76 respondents with total sampling technique. Data analysis using the chi square test with a significance level of a = 0.005 (95%). The results of the study found parenting styles with temper tantrums in pre-school children (p=0.000 <a 0.005). The results of this study are expected that parents can apply good parenting styles, such as democratic parenting because the risk of temper tantrums in children is lower than authoritarian and permissive parenting styles.

Abstract

Stunting is a growth and development disorder due to lack of nutritional intake, recurrent infections characterized by body length or height below standard. Toddlers with stunting will have a lower level of intelligence, be susceptible to disease and delayed mental development. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of stunting in children aged 0-59 months in the Meureubo Health Center Working Area, West Aceh Regency. The method used is observational with a cross sectional research design. The population in this study were mothers who had toddlers aged 0-59 months in the Meurebo Health Center Working Area, West Aceh district, totaling 2296 people. Determining the number of samples used the Slovin formula with the Stratified Random Sampling technique, totaling 95 people. Data was collected using a questionnaire to measure maternal knowledge and anthropometry to measure body height. Determining whether or not there is stunting is assessed using the child's Z-Score standard. In this study, univariate analysis was carried out which was presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. Next, bivariate analysis was carried out between the two variables using the Chi Square statistical test. Results The chi square test shows that maternal knowledge (0.000) is related to stunting in toddlers. It is hoped that the Meureubo Community Health Center will further improve health promotion in the form of education regarding the causes and prevention of stunting.

Abstract

Teachers of Islamic education in Indonesia have some problems. On the one hand, they are required to meet the standards of qualification, competencies, and certification. On the other hand, they have over-working hour due to the imbalance between the number of the teachers and the students. This fact will undoubtedly affect their work quality. The work quality of the teachers can be measured by five kinds of competences: pedagogic, personality, social, professional, and leadership. This research is aimed to measure the five competences of the teachers of Islamic Education in Senior High Schools and Senior Vocational Schools (both SMA and SMK) in Central Java, and it is also to examine the hypothesis that there is no significant difference in teachers’ competences in terms of their status: civil servants (PNS) or not (non-PNS), and certified or not. By using quantitative approach, the research has two important findings. The first, the competency of the Islamic teachers in Central Java is on the medium level which have a score at 2.95 on a scale of 4.00. The pedagogic competence occupies the highest level with 3.25, in contrast the social competence is on the lowest one with 2.9. The second, there is no significant difference in competences between the teachers who are civil servants and those who are not. On the contrary, there is a significant difference in competences between the teachers who are certified and who are not certified yet.

Abstract

This article concerns on the notion of responsibility to protect (R2P) in Syrian war and what can be expected from the Muslim community. This theme is important to be discussed for the reasons that crisis in Syria has been occurred for almost nine years since it began in March 2011 and it has no end sign in the immediate time. In addition, it caused hundred thousand civilians dead, million people become displaced persons. In addition, the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian war was against the international laws. This paper was written based on the data that was collected using documentary study. Findings of this research reveals that the Syrian civil war had involved various parties including the government, insurgent groups, international fighters, and several countries like the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Russia, some European countries, and other states. This made the situation very complex. The Muslim communities through international organization such as Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) should actively participate in implementing the R2P which include protecting people, promoting human rights issues, and preventing further mass killing as well as military protection.
