Abstract

One factor that contributes to the pathogenesis of almost all diseases, including PCOS, is stress. A study shows that one of the health needs required especially by adolescent girls is psycho-emotional services. In West Java Province, there are approximately one million high school and equivalent students in the 2022/2023 academic year. Of this number it includes students who pursue their upper secondary education in Sindangmulya District, such as SMK Bintang Harapan. Like high school students in general, students in these schools are vulnerable to stress stemming from the academic demands given by schools in the form of assignments with limited time. Among the recommended stress management techniques, some involve physical exercises, such as yoga. Based on this, education related to yoga as a stress management method needs to be implemented. The results obtained after this activity were an increase in the knowledge of female students regarding the implications of yoga for stress management, with a 79.3% increase in the percentage of students who achieved a perfect score, averaging 10.00.

Abstract

People's behavior in life is too focused on technological developments. This is an attitude that deviates from the Pancasila character, where today's children lack a sense of caring for each other, lack respect for others, think about themselves, and are selfish. Problems related to character or morals today are much more common than those that occurred in the past. The issue of character decline, especially in the younger generation, is a matter of collective thought because the young generation is an asset for a country that will play a role in the future. National insight is a perspective on the characteristics that mark a national group. National insight is a conception of perspective based on self-awareness as a citizen of a country regarding oneself and one's environment in the life of the nation and state. National insight is a deep understanding of the identity, history, culture, and values inherent in a nation. This involves awareness of unity, diversity, and responsibility for the development of the country. The concept of Indonesian nationality aims to build and develop unity and integrity. The first goal of national insight is to create a nation that is strong, harmoniously united, highly competitive, and prosperous. These include Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. On that occasion, he explained the implementation of Pancasila in social life.

Abstract

MSME actors greatly encourage the country's economy and need government attention so that this sector's business is long-lived. However, the reality is that in running a business, MSME actors have yet to be accompanied by solid resource capabilities, which makes them vulnerable to bankruptcy. Expectations of increasing business in terms of turnover, determining strategies and cooperation are challenged by financial pressures, market competition, and operational challenges that can cause stress. It is necessary to help overcome this immediately so that the sustainability of the SME business is not disrupted. This research analyzes SME business sustainability through stress management, focusing on handling problems, emotions, and unproductive actions. The quantitative research method with exploratory survey involved traditional food SMEs in East Priangan. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations. The results showed that SMEs focused on handling problems in managing stress. It is proven that problem-focused handling contributes significantly to business sustainability. Meanwhile, emotion-focused handling and focusing on unproductive handling do not contribute to business sustainability.

Abstract

Halal certification is important to guarantee the halalness of products, but public understanding of this is often limited, especially in traditional communities, such as Kampung Naga. This research aims to analyze the acceptance and understanding of the Kampung Naga community towards halal certification. The method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with traditional stakeholders and several local communities. The research results show that public acceptance of halal certification is driven by religious values, but the majority feel that traditional traditions are enough to guarantee the halalness of products. Understanding of the halal certification process is still limited, especially among older people, while the younger generation is more open to the benefits of such certification. This research concludes that although there is awareness of the importance of halal, socialization and assistance is still needed to increase understanding and facilitate the halal certification process in Kampung Naga. Abstract

Endophytic fungi living in medicinal plant tissues are potential bioactive metabolite sources for drug discovery and development. However, the research regarding endophytic fungi associated with Indonesian medicinal plants is still limited. This study aimed to explore the biodiversity of endophytic fungi associated with the medicinal plant Uncaria gambir (Hunter) Roxb. var. udang and their antibacterial activities. Twenty-seven endophytic filamentous fungi were isolated from the surface-sterilized leaves, stems, and roots of Uncaria gambir (Hunter) Roxb. var. udang collected in Jasinga, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. The observation based on the morphological characters both macroscopically and microscopically, as well as chemical profiling using thin layer chromatography (TLC), revealed that some of the isolated endophytic fungi were identical. Overall, the isolated endophytic fungi consist of six Coelomycetes, three Dematiaceae, four Pestalotiopsis sp., two Penicillium sp., one Aspergillus terreus, and two fungi were unidentified. Antibacterial activities of the ethyl acetate extract from the isolated endophytic fungi associated with Uncaria gambir (Hunter) Roxb. var. udang were observed against E. coli, B. subtilis, S. aureus, and M. luteus. Twelve types of isolated endophytic fungi from Uncaria gambir (Hunter) Roxb. var. udang exhibited antibacterial activities.

Abstract

Actinomycetes are an important source for the discovery of bioactive secondary metabolite compounds. Over 10,000 bioactive metabolite compounds have been isolated from terrestrial actinomycetes with various biological activities, such as antibiotic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, anticancer, and antioxidant. One source of origin for actinomycetes is soil, including termite nests. Utilization of natural sources such as actinomycetes from termite nests as antioxidants and antibacterials can be an alternative source of production of new secondary metabolite compounds. This research aims to evaluate the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of actinomycete extracts from termite nests. Antioxidant activity using the DPPH free radical scavenging method, and antibacterial activity against S. aureus. Antioxidant and antibacterial activity were performed by using the TLC dot-blot, TLC bioautography, and microdilution methods to determine the inhibitory concentration of 50% (IC50), antioxidant activity index (AAI), and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). From the 33 extracts tested, 16 extracts showed antioxidant activity with IC50 values range of 76.64-126.22 µg/mL or AAI value > 0.05 (moderate), and 8 extracts had moderate antibacterial activity against S. aureus (MIC values range of 256-512 µg/mL). Future research for scaling-up of actinomycete culture, isolating of active compounds, determining of the chemical structure of active compounds, and further testing as antioxidants and antibacterials still need to be carried out.
