Abstract

The government and schools have tried to strengthen the implementation of character education. However, there is no program to overcome radicalism. Everything returns to each individual, including the successful implementation of character education, which can at least minimize the influence of radicalism on the school environment. This study is intended to obtain a hypothetical model of Character-Based Leadership that can effectively affect the implementation of character education and efforts to combat radicalism. This research was conducted by studying phenomena that are part of the qualitative method. The object of this research is high school-level schools exposed to radicalism. The schools taken were two schools that had been exposed to radicalism. The subjects of this study were the principal, teachers, and students. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interview techniques, complemented by observation and document review. Data collection was carried out by several visits to the research field, cross-checking, primary data, and secondary data, complemented by literature studies and previous research. This study also meta-analyses several leadership models as a theoretical basis in producing character-based leadership components. The data processing of the results of this study was assisted by the NVIVO 12 Software to facilitate researchers in finding research results from so much field data. From the results of data analysis, researchers get many components of character values from character-based leadership, constructs, and frameworks in the implementation of character education. Finally, this study proposes the ideal character values possessed by someone who can be included in the category of character-based leadership who can become a leader in the implementation of character education and a leader who can prevent and overcome radicalism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang peran kepemimpinan instruksional kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 28 kepala sekolah pada Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah se-DKI Jakarta. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakakan adalah wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa kepala sekolah dapat mengelola sekolah untuk meningkatkan kinerja mengajar guru dengan model dan strategi yang dibangun dalam rangkan mewujudkan tujuan organisasi. dimensi atau indikator kepemimpinan instruksional yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja mengajar guru adalah mengembangkan misi dan tujuan peningkatan kurikulum sekolah, pengembangan komunitas belajar profesional, mengembangkan lingkungan kerja dan mempromosikan iklim pembelajaran akademik.

Abstract

The training on governance development of school quality management was carried out for 10 principals of public elementary schools (SDN) aimed at assisting school principals in developing the quality of school management based on the 8 National Education Standards. The training is carried out offline with the Health protocol with an andragogic approach. The presenters explore ideas, ideas, and expectations of school principals to be analyzed with SWOT analysis and the practice of reviewing the Education Unit Accreditation Instrument (IASP). The results of the training showed a change in the attitudes, knowledge and skills of school principals in developing SNP-based school quality management.

Abstract

The competency-based education program is a flagship program launched by a Madrasah Aliyah (or, MA; Islamic based senior high school) in Sumedang to produce graduates who are competent and skillful, especially in the automotive, culinary, fashion, and technology. Students are expected to be able to compete in the professional fields. In this article, the implementation of the program is discussed, which is seriously trying to increase the competence of graduates. The method used in this present study is a mixed method with the techniques of documentation, observation studies and questionnaires to determine the students' number of inputs, their interest in the competency program in that school, and the existing programs. The results show that 100% of the students chose and followed the competency program according to their desires and talents, and because of willingness to get better opportunities after graduating. Moreover, it was found that the four competences offered have increased students’ participation in learning. Future recommendations are provided in this article.

Abstract

During the transition to the mixed education model during the Covid-19 pandemic, some issues have emerged in the matter of providing and supporting the quality of university education in all countries, including educational programs' relevance to the demands of the labor market, expectations of students and their families, digital transformation of the educational process, and economic stability of institution networks. The purpose of the research was to evaluate the quality of educational services in the higher education systems of Indonesia and Russia. The study systematized several essential factors for achieving educational service quality in the current higher education systems, given the limitations imposed by Covid-19. Following this objective, the study utilized a quantitative approach, adopting the SERVQUALmodel that measures the service quality across five service dimensions: tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The model aided the development of the questionnaire to assess the quality of the educational services of Indonesian and Russian universities. The questionnaire included 25 close-ended questions on two scales: one to measure the students' expectations regarding the quality of educational services and the other to measure the students' current perceptions. A snowball technique was used to recruit students from Indonesian and Russian universities as participants in the study. The students were asked to assess the educational services of their universities based on their initial expectations and current perceptions. Overall, the students of both countries revealed that they had high expectations from the educational services of their universities. However, the current perceptions of the Russian students regarding the quality of educational services provided by their universities are higher and more positive than the perceptions of the Indonesian students regarding the quality of educational services being delivered to them. Abstract

Research in the wake of the problems how much influence interpersonal communication head Dikmenti field to work productivity of employees at the Education Department of West Java Province. The method used is descriptive method supported by literature study. As well as using the techniques of data collection using the questionnaire enclosed with 4 rating scale (Likert) were distributed to 49 employees especially in the field Dikmenti as samples. The problems of this study (1) how the image of interpersonal communication chief of Dikmenti Education Department of West Java Province, (2) how the employee productivity Education Department of West Java Province, (3) how much influence interpersonal communication head of Dikmenti against employee productivity Education Department of West Java Province. Based on the results of data processing which is calculated by using the technique Weight Means Scores (WMS) shows that the average general tendency for the variable X (Interpersonal Communication) obtained at 3.06 and are in very good category. As for the average general trend in Y (Work Productivity) obtained at 3.45 to be in very good category. The calculation result normality test on the distribution of the data that the variables X and Y have normal distribution. Judging from the calculation of the correlation coefficient (rhitung) using the formula obtained Perason Product Moment correlation coefficient of 0675. Thisshows that there is a strong relationship between the variables X and Y. The test results significantly with t-test obtained t is known ttabel 6.031 and 2.012 compared to 6.03˃ 2012 means that significant relationship between interpersonal communication department heads Dikmenti on productivity employee of West Java Provincial Education Office. To determinethe influence of the variables X and Y is shown from the calculation coefficient of determination (KD) of 43%. This shows that the influence of the head of the field of interpersonal communication Dikmenti against employee productivity Education Department of West Java province by 43% and the remaining 57% is influenced by other factors. Likewise, the results of the regression analysis obtained by the equation Y = 44.949 + 0.525 X means every one-unit change in the variable X will provid a change in the variable Y for 0.525.Berdasarkan the above results it can be concluded that the research hypothesis that there is positive and significant correlation between Interpersonal Communication Division leader Dikmenti the Work Productivity Employee Education Department of West Java Province. The results of this study are expected to provide a benefit both for the institution, employees and for further research that will examine communication problems on the productivity of labor.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create the character of a leader with integrity. Many problems are related to the honesty of the leader. This research method uses qualitative Design-Based Research (DBR), the qualitative data obtained is then processed using the NVivo 12 Plus application. The participants consisted of twenty-one participants, who came from two different Islamic boarding schools. The participants’ character consists of the principal, vice principal, kyai, mudaris, musyrif, and Islamic students. The results of the study show that there is a very strong impact on the formation of leader character and integrity through coaching in Islamic boarding schools. Educational guidance is carried out through 24-hour supervision every day while the students are in boarding school. The conclusion is that based on the results of the study, the coaching carried out at this Islamic boarding school must be a model for fostering Islamic students or students in Indonesia, especially students in Islamic boarding schools. integrated Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explain the phenomenon of student learning management that occurs in Islamic boarding schools and find strategies used during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach through a case study at the Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Pekalongan. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, in-depth observation and study documentation. Based on the findings of this study, it appears that learning management is the main factor for handling all activities during the pandemic COVID-19. However, learning management at the Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Pekalongan City during the COVID-19 pandemic has not run optimally from the learning management functions, namely planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. That is due to the challenges and obstacles faced during the adjustment periods. The result of this study are strategies of learning management santri at Ponpes Darul Ulum Pekalongan. First, implementing distance learning “Daring” with WhatsApp Group media for the Tahfidz programs, Youtube and Google meet for the Kitab programs, then Zoom and Google meet for the Science programs. Second, simplifies the curriculum reduce target achievement. Third, provide one-week training teachers. And fourth, supply quota and wifi for teachers who needs it.Keyword: Strategy; Learning Management; Islamic Boarding School; COVID-19 Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan fenomena manajemen pembelajaran santri yang terjadi di pondok pesantren dan menemukan strategi yang digunakan selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi kasus di Ponpes Darul Ulum Kota Pekalongan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi mendalam dan studi dokumentasi dengan pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini, terlihat bahwa manajemen pembelajaran merupakan faktor utama untuk menangani semua kegiatan di masa pandemi COVID-19.  Namun, manajemen pembelajaran di Ponpes Darul Ulum Kota Pekalongan selama masa pandemi COVID-19 belum berjalan optimal dilihat dari empat fungsi manajemen pembelajaran yaitu perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajarannya. Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya tantangan dan hambatan yang dihadapi selama masa penyesuaian yang dilakukan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah strategi manajemen pembelajaran santri di Ponpes Darul Ulum Pekalongan yaitu pertama, melakukan pembelajaran jarak jauh dalam jaringan dengan media WhatsApp Group untuk program Tahfidz, Youtube dan Google meet untuk program Kitab dan Zoom, Google meet untu Program Sains. Kedua, melakukan penyederhanaan kurikulum dan menurunkan pencapaian target. Ketiga, memberikan training 1 minggu bagi para guru.
