Abstract

ABTRACT The purpose of this service activity is to improve the Computational Thinking (CT) skills of vocational students through the Bebras Challenge training program. Since its introduction by Wing in 2006, CT has become a major focus in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. In the context of this service activity, some of the problems identified involved students' lack of proficiency in CT, ignorance of Bebras Challenge activities, and lack of promotion of the use of the internet in CT learning. This training was carried out by applying lecture methods, question and answer sessions, and exercises/practices. The results of the implementation of this service activity show that students can apply Computational Thinking to solve everyday problems. This service method proved effective in motivating students and teachers to actively use technology as a CT learning tool. In addition, this training helps students to better understand the types of challenges faced in Bebras and the concept of CT.

Abstract

Informal SMEs are pivotal to inclusive growth, yet capability and infrastructure constraints often limit the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI). This study examines how organizational and technological conditions shape inclusive competitiveness through AI use in Indonesian informal SMEs by extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE) factors and IS-success attributes. Using a cross-sectional survey of 559 SME owners/managers and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), we test pathways from organizational competence and readiness, system quality, and service quality to perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU), and ultimately to AI usage. Results show that PU and PEOU strongly predict AI usage, and PEOU also reinforces PU. Organizational readiness and system quality significantly enhance both PU and PEOU, while organizational competence primarily strengthens PU rather than PEOU. Service quality improves PEOU but does not significantly affect PU. Mediation tests confirm that PU and PEOU transmit key organizational and technological effects to AI usage. The findings suggest that policies and managerial interventions targeting readiness-building (skills, resources, governance) and robust system design are essential to translate AI adoption into sustained utilization and more inclusive business competitiveness in the informal economy.

Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education is reshaping students’ learning behaviors and cognitive engagement. Although AI tools enhance academic efficiency, excessive reliance on these technologies may unintentionally foster inert thinking by reducing independent cognitive processing. This study investigates the mediating role of over-reliance on artificial intelligence in the relationship between performance expectancy, social influence, and inert thinking among university students. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted with 342 undergraduate students from multiple universities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire grounded in technology acceptance theory and cognitive learning perspectives and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that performance expectancy and social influence significantly predict students’ over-reliance on AI, which in turn significantly mediates their relationship with inert thinking tendencies. These findings suggest that while AI-supported learning environments improve task performance, excessive dependence on AI may weaken students’ independent cognitive engagement. This study contributes empirical evidence to the emerging literature on AI-mediated learning by clarifying the cognitive risks associated with AI dependency and highlighting the importance of designing balanced AI-integrated instructional environments that promote responsible use while sustaining critical thinking development.

Abstract

The increasing integration of AI systems into various sectors of the economy has also raised ethical concerns. Even as education in AI has developed to ensure that learners have the appropriate technical skills, the existing systems have failed to address the issue of ethics. As a way of addressing the problem, the current study aims at investigating learning about AI literacy and ethical reasoning. The author in this research applied the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), from a questionnaire consisting of 400 university students (conducted of informatics and computer engineering department) to examine the relevance of AI literacy (AI-DAIB theories/basics), technical skills (TS), learning performance (LPER and EAI as moderating effect on AI perception (AIP). The findings found interesting result that AI literacy and technical skills have significant effects on learning performance and the moderating effect of AI ethics also increases the added value. This study indicates the need for a wider framework of all educational activities focusing on the development of technical skills, AI literacy and (semi)AI ethics to respond effectively to gaps in both development and moral responsibility of AI technologies

Abstract

The low quality of student innovation in preparing Student Creativity Program (PKM) proposals remains a challenge in higher education, caused by limited research experience, weak team collaboration, and low utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. This study aims to describe the implementation of an AI-based Co-Creation Learning model in improving students' abilities to prepare PKM proposals. This research used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which was conducted in two cycles: the first cycle applied the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, and the second cycle applied the AI- based Co-Creation Learning model. The results showed an increase in the students’ average scores from 86.1 in the first cycle to 88.4 in the second cycle, with a decrease in the standard deviation from 2.32 to 1.37. Inferential analysis using a paired samples t-test revealed a t-value of -9.25 with p < 0.001 and an effect size (Cohen’s d) of -1.46, indicating a statistically significant improvement in learning outcomes. This model effectively supports collaboration, creativity, and students' skills in developing more relevant PKM proposals. Thus, the implementation of the AI-based Co-Creation Learning model is effective in enhancing students’ innovation capacity and supports the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka policy in strengthening excellent human resources in the digital era.

Abstract

The acceleration of tax digitalization through artificial intelligence (AI) has redefined modern taxation systems; however, its success largely depends on users’ digital literacy and readiness to embrace automation. This study investigates the mediating role of digital literacy in the relationship between AI-driven automation, facilitating conditions, and effort expectancy on tax digitalization adoption in Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 161 individual and professional taxpayers using purposive sampling methods. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that digital literacy exerts the strongest direct and significant influence on the adoption of tax digitalization. It also mediates the effects of AI-driven automation and facilitating conditions, whereas effort expectancy shows a positive but statistically insignificant relationship. These findings underscore that digital literacy is not merely a supporting factor but a fundamental determinant of successful digital tax transformations. This study implies that policies aimed at promoting tax digitalization should prioritize digital literacy enhancement through systematic education, technical training, and user-friendly system design. By strengthening digital competence, tax authorities can increase user engagement, improve compliance, and facilitate an equitable digital transformation within tax administration.
