Abstract

This study aims to improve studen This study aims to determine the application of the Make A Match learning model and improve student learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education subject of class VIII.6 at SMP Negeri 4 Masamba, North Luwu Regency. This study is motivated by the low learning motivation of students which is indicated by a lack of attention during learning, low activeness in asking questions or discussing, and the dominant use of lecture methods which causes learning to take place monotonously. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model which consists of the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The research subjects were 30 students of class VIII.6. Data collection techniques include observation, learning motivation assessment rubric, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Make A Match learning model is able to increase student learning motivation gradually in each cycle. The percentage of learning motivation in the pre-cycle stage was 35.09%, then increased to 57.64% in Cycle I, and again increased to 85.19% in Cycle II with a good category. In addition to increasing motivation values, students also showed positive changes in learning behavior, such as being more active in asking questions, daring to express opinions, enthusiastic about participating in learning, being able to work together in groups, and being more focused on the material being studied. The learning atmosphere became more interactive, fun, and student-centered. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Make A Match learning model is effectively applied in Islamic Religious Education learning to increase the learning motivation of class VIII.6 students of SMP Negeri 4 Masamba, North Luwu Regency.

Abstract

A Principal leadership strategies play a crucial role in the professional development of teachers. However, research regarding their implementation in Integrated Islamic Vocational High Schools remains limited. This study aims to analyze the principal's leadership strategies for teacher professional development at SMK IT Ibnul Qayyim Makassar. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving six informants, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model—specifically through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal's leadership strategies encompass data-driven planning, the facilitation of continuous professional development, academic supervision based on coaching and mentoring, the strengthening of a quality culture, and partnerships with the business and industrial sectors. These five strategies constitute a leadership system that supports the continuous professional development of teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the STEAM-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a Deep Learning approach in improving students’ reflective thinking skills on the topic of fold symmetry in elementary school. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a pretest–posttest design. The results indicate that the implementation of this model enhances students’ reflective thinking skills and creates a more meaningful, active, and student-centered learning environment. In addition, the model supports the development of critical and creative thinking as well as students’ cognitive and metacognitive abilities. Therefore, the integration of PjBL, STEAM, and Deep Learning is considered effective in improving higher-order thinking skills in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Hypnoteaching learning method in Islamic Religious Education subjects in class VIII.4 of SMP Negeri 2 Makassar City. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with the Kemmis and McTaggart model which is implemented in two cycles, where each cycle consists of the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 36 students of class VIII.4. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, tests, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively by calculating the average value and percentage of student learning completion. The results of the study show that the application of the Hypnoteaching method is able to improve student learning outcomes gradually. In the initial condition (pre-test), only 12 students (33%) achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) of 80, while 24 students (67%) had not completed it. After the implementation of the Hypnoteaching method in Cycle I, the number of students who completed the course increased to 22 people (61%), while 14 people (39%) were still incomplete. Improvements in learning in Cycle II resulted in a significant increase, namely all 36 students (100%) successfully achieved the KKM. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the Hypnoteaching method is also able to increase motivation, activeness, attention, self-confidence, and participation of students during the learning process. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Hypnoteaching method is effective in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subjects in class VIII.4 of SMP Negeri 2 Makassar City and is worthy of being used as an alternative learning method to create a more active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning process.

Abstract

Classroom instruction in Islamic education often struggles to keep students engaged, and Aqidah Akhlak at MAN 1 Kota Makassar was no exception: prior to intervention, teaching relied heavily on lecturing, leaving students passive and, based on the pre-cycle data, achieving a mean score of only 69 with just 36.7% reaching mastery. This study set out to describe how a fun learning model could be applied in that classroom and whether doing so would lift students' outcomes. A classroom action research design was used across a pre-cycle stage and two subsequent cycles, involving 30 Grade X students together with their Aqidah Akhlak teacher as the research subjects. Data were gathered through classroom observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively using mean scores and mastery percentages benchmarked against the school's minimum criterion. Applying fun learning—through interactive discussion, educational games, and collaborative activities—produced a steady rise in both engagement and achievement: the mean score climbed to 75 (56.7% mastery) after Cycle I and reached 86.83 (100% mastery) by the end of Cycle II. These results indicate that a fun learning approach is a viable way to make Aqidah Akhlak instruction more engaging while substantially improving learning outcomes

Abstract

Plastic waste pyrolysis requires catalysts that are thermally stable, accessible, and economically viable. This study synthesizes and characterizes a biomass-based catalytic material derived from hibiscus flower powder and activated Ulin wood carbon. Hibiscus petals were dried under sunlight for 6 h, oven-dried at 55 °C for 1 h, ground, and sieved to 200 mesh. Ulin wood carbon was reduced by high-energy milling, sieved to 200 mesh, activated in 3 M NaOH using 8 g carbon for 12 h, washed to pH 6–7, and dried at 105 °C for 8 h. UV–Vis analysis showed that hibiscus powder contained 676.62 mg EQ/100 g flavonoids, 2305.06 mg GAE/100 g phenols, 369.69 ppm antioxidant activity, and 122.40 ppm anthocyanins. Activated Ulin carbon contained 166.28 mg EQ/100 g flavonoids, 32.04 mg GAE/100 g phenols, 0 ppm antioxidant activity, and 0.54 ppm anthocyanins. Thermal, morphological, functional group, and crystallinity analyses were conducted using TGA-DTA, SEM, FTIR, and XRD. The results indicate that hibiscus contributes oxygenated bioactive compounds, whereas activated Ulin carbon provides a carbonaceous support structure. The combined characteristics suggest potential use as a sustainable catalyst precursor for plastic waste pyrolysis.
