Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar IPA berbasis Sains Teknologi Masyarakat (STM) di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Prosedur pengembangan meliputi dua tahap, yakni studi pendahuluan dan pengembangan prototipe. Subjek penelitian adalah lima orang guru dan 27 peserta didik kelas IV sekolah dasar untuk tahap ujicoba terbatas. Sampel untuk uji coba luas sebanyak 49 peserta didik dengan desain praeksperimental dan untuk uji efektivitas dengan desain quasi eksperimen sebanyak 43 peserta didik. Data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi, dan kajian pustaka dianalisis dengan teknik interaktif model Miles dan Huberman untuk memperoleh deskripsi naratif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari tes belajar kognitif yang telah memenuhi kriteria validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan teknik paired dan independent t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa prototipe buku ajar IPA berbasis STM untuk tema sumber daya alam yang dikembangkan sudah layak menurut tinjauan ahli dan direspons baik oleh guru dan peserta didik. Penggunaan bahan ajar IPA berbasis STM secara signifikan mempengaruhi prestasi belajar peserta didik. DEVELOPING SCIENCE TEXTBOOK BASED ON SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY SOCIETYThis study was aimed at developing a science textbook based on Science Technology Society (STM) for primary school. The method used was research and development (RD). The development procedure included two stages, namely a preliminary study and prototype development. The research subjects were 5 teachers and 27 students in grade IV elementary school for the limited trial phase. The samples for the broad trial were 49 students with a pre-experimental design and for effectiveness tests with a quasi-experimental design were 43 students. Qualitative data obtained from interviews, observations and literature reviews were analyzed using the interactive techniques proposed in the Miles Huberman model to obtain narrative descriptions. The quantitative data obtained from cognitive learning tests have met the criteria of validity and reliability. The quantitative data analysis was performed using paired techniques and independent t-tests. The results show that the developed prototype of the STM-based science textbook for the theme of natural resources is appropriate according to expert reviews and responded to both by teachers and students. The use of STM-based science teaching materials significantly influences students' learning achievement.

Jati diri bangsa merupakan identitas yang dimiliki oleh suatu bangsa yang menjadi ciri khusus. Jati diri bangsa merupakan suatu kebanggaan bahkan menjadi daya tarik tersendiri yang harus tetap dijaga dan dilestarikan secara turun temurun pada generasi muda penerus bangsa. Jati diri bangsa akan terlihat dalam karakter bangsa yang merupakan perwujudan dari nilai-nilai luhur bangsa. Akan tetapi akhir-akhir ini kita mulai di khawatirkan dengan melemahnya jati diri bangsa dalam masyarakat salah satunya disebabkan oleh dampak negatif berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang menyebabkan degradasi moral pada masyarakat. Masyarakat cenderung individualis karena segala sesuatu dapat dilakukan dengan mudah dan tanpa bantuan orang lain yang pada akhirnya melunturkan nilai-nilai sosial yang selama ini berkembang dan berlaku di masyarakat seperti kekeluargaan, gotong royong, dan toleransi. Kearifan lokal sebagai pusaka budaya memiliki peranan penting sebagai inspirasi dalam penguatan jati diri atau identitas bangsa. Penguatan jati diri suatu bangsa menjadi sangat penting pada era globalisasi dengan tujuan agar tidak luntur atau tercabutnya akar budaya yang diwarisi dari para pendahulu ditengah-tengah kecenderungan homogenitas kebudayaan sebagai akibat dari globalisasi. Bangsa Indonesia mewarisi berbagai kekayaan alam, kekayaan hayati dan kekayaan keragaman sosiokultural. Kekayaan ini merupakan modal dasar yang harus di olah untuk kesejahteraan warga indonesia. Kearifan lokal merupakan modal budaya yang harus dikelola dan dikembangkan yang nantinya akan memperkuat identitas ke-indonesiaan. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode kualitatif yang dilakukan pada saat perayaan Tradisi Tunggul Wulung dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk melihat nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam tradisi tersebut yang dapat memperkuat Jati Diri Bangsa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa dalam Tradisi Tunggul Wulung banyak nilai-nilai sosial sebagai penguat jati diri bangsa, diantaranya adalah kekeluargaan, gotong royong, dan toleransi. Nilai-nilai tersebut terangkum dalam persiapan tradisi hingga pada saat perayaan Tradisi Tunggul Wulung.

Creative thinking is one of the essential skills in science learning. Creative thinking skills become a source of strength in the development, invention, and investigation to face the obstacles in the 21st century. This study aimed to determine the creative thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning by gender. This study used descriptive analysis with quantitative data. Data collection by tests, interviews, and observation sheets. The participants of this study were 94 students from three different schools consisting of 35 male and 59 female students. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Indicators of critical thinking are fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Creative thinking skills in this study divided into three categories: high, medium, and low. The result of this study showed that the male students have a high percentage of flexibility, the average percentage in both originality and fluency, and a low percentage in elaboration. Female students have a high percentage in fluency, the medium percentage in elaboration, and a low percentage in both originality and flexibility.

The purpose of this research is to enhance learning motivation and learning achievement of character education in disciplinary values in grade III students of SDN 2 Japan, Dawe, Kudus 2014/2015 Academic Year. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study are 25 of Students. Data are obtained using interviews, documentation and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive. The results of the classroom actionresearch show that; 1) Application of thematic learning with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach can appropriately increase motivation and learning achievement of character education in the discipline value of students in Elementary School 2 Jepang, Dawe sub-district, Kudus 2014/2015 Academic Year. Based on the results of the distribution of questionnaires on students' learning motivation, it was found that the success target of cycle I (76%) increased in cycle II to (96). 2) The advantage of thematic learning with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach is that learning becomes more meaningful because students are shown the material concepts with the real world experienced in everyday life. The weaknesses students are hesitant in expressing their opinions.

This study aims to describe structures and the values of character education in the children's storybook "Linda has a Papaya Garden" by Astry Lestari. This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive analysis method. The technique used in collecting data is through documentation and the technique used to analyze the data is content analysis. The results showed that the children's storybook "Linda has a Papaya Garden" by Astry Lestari has a story structure consisting of themes, characters and characterizations, settings, plots and messages. Meanwhile, the educational values contained in the children's storybook are religious, honest, disciplined, hardworking, creative, curious, appreciating achievement, caring for the environment, and responsibility. The message of this story conveys the importance of preserving humility and toughness as the basic values to instil in children's development.

ABSTRAK Ciri khas KTSP adalah terdapat materi kimia dalam pelajaran IPA yang disesuaikan dengan kemampuan sekolah dalam mendukung pelaksanaannya, karena kurikulum (KTSP) dalam mata pelajaran IPA (yang dalam kurikulum 2004 dinamakan sains) hanya terdiri dari fisika dan biologi, maka guru-guru IPA di SMP dan MTs diprediksi tidak ada yang berasal dari latar belakang kimia. Padahal dengan munculnya materi kimia diperlukan guru-guru yang memiliki kompetensi dalam mengajar kimia. Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan penguasaan materi kimia guru-guru mata pelajaran IPA dan juga sarana pendukung, seperti laboratorium dan buku-buku penunjang yang dimiliki sekolah perlu diteliti. Kota Surakarta yang mempunyai jumlah SMP yang besar dapat digunakan tolak ukur bagi kota dan kabupaten lainnya. Munculnya materi kimia di SMP tentu membawa konsekuensi yang harus dipersiapkan antara lain guru-guru dalam menguasai materi kimia dan juga penyediaan penunjang pembelajaran kimia SMP lainnya oleh dinas terkait. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dilihat bahwa kesiapan guru Biologi dalam menghadapi masuknya materi kimia di SMP masih 63, 63%. Angka ini masih di bawah rata-rata cukup, sehingga upaya pemegang kebijakan harus mengambil langkah konkret seperti penyediaan guru kimia yang merupakan sarjana pendidikan kimia. Atau lebih memberikan banyak pelatihan kimia kepada guru IPA di seluruh SMP se-Kota Surakarta. Ketersediaan sarana prasarana sekolah (laboratorium dengan alat bahan praktikum dan demostrasi) hanya 15% saja yang telah mempunyai alat dan bahan yang lengkap untuk pelayanan laboratorium. Sedangkan ketersediaan buku-buku penunjang pembelajaran kimia di sekolah masih belum memadai. Kata Kunci : Kesiapan Guru Biologi, KTSP

This study aims 1) to know the implementation of thematic learning on the curriculum 2013 in 4th-grade elementary school; 2) to know the needs of teachers in the implementation of thematic learning in 4th-grade elementary school. This study used qualitative research methods. The research was conducted in public elementary schools in the Gugus Pattimura, Klaten district which has been using the curriculum 2013. The subjects of the study were 4th-grade elementary school teachers. The data used to collect data is in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The results of this research are: 1) All teachers have implemented thematic lesson in curriculum 2013. There are some teachers who still have difficulty in the implementation. Difficulties experienced by teachers, among others, in the making of the lesson plan, the implementation of thematic learning, assessment process, and develop the material in every learning. This is because of the needy costs, the amount of time required, and the teacher has other work to do besides teaching; 2) On the implementation of thematic learning, teachers still need other references to deepen the material and to develop the ability of learners to be more independent in learning activities and tailored to the competencies that must be achieved. The second requirement is that teachers need adequate facilities for the implementation of thematic learning can be maximized. In addition, teachers need regular coaching on the implementation of thematic learning so that learning activities can be given to learners maximally.Keywords:Thematic Learning, Curriculum 2013, Education.

The demand for expertise in technology and rapid service in the modern era has penetrated the field of education. According to Geogi Lozanov in Robinson (2005: 1) in reaching citizens who are sensitive to the development of science and technology and have the ability to interact internationally requires critical thinking skills and democratic attitudes. Critical thinking also requires skills to think about assumptions in asking questions about the concept of democracy that is being discussed before it becomes an option to be developed into a way of living together as a nation. Efforts to reach generations of citizens who have critical thinking skills and have democratic skills are one of the goals of national education, one of them is learning. Besides that, in the effort to reach the generation of democratic citizens in the modern era, high order thinking skills are also needed. This ability to think at a higher level requires someone to apply new information or prior knowledge. The purpose of this study is to describe the concepts of democratic skills in the HOTS stage in the modern era. The method in this study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The concepts of democratic skills in the HOTS frame are civic skills, intellectual skills, and participation skills. Through this research, HOTS is expected to strengthen democratic skills in the modern era.

This research aims to develop a computerized testlet assessment to measure science process skills on stoichiometry material in terms of validity, reliability, difficulty level, distinguishing features and deception indexes that meet the criteria as good assessment instruments, and can display individual profiles of science process skills students. The subject of the research trial was a grade X student of Senior High School in Boyolali. Validity test is done by content validity, criteria, and expert validation. Reliability test is done by finding the price of the reliability coefficient r. Characteristics test is done by determining the level of difficulty, distinguishing features and deception index. The profile of science process skills is determined by measuring students' mastery of the science process. The results of the research and development was declared feasible and met the criteria as a good question with a validity of questions more than 0.79 (valid), has a test reliability on the main field trials of 0.643 and 0.610 on the trial the implementation of the field is relatively high, has a distinguishing power with a percentage of 10% bad, 66.7% is sufficient, and 23.3% is good, has a difficulty level with a percentage of 20% difficult, 53.3% moderate and 26.7% easy.

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students’ interest and achievement in learning in the eleventh grade students of lintas-minat Chemistry 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2015/2016 by implementing the learning model of problem-solving using mapping concept strategy in buffer solution subject matter. This CAR was carried out in two cycles and in each cycle there was four stages consisting of action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data of interest aspect and attitude aspect of learning achievement were collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews techniques. Data of knowledge aspect and skill aspect of learning achievement were collected using test and observation techniques, respectively. The research data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive technique. The results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of problem-solving learning model using concept mapping strategy can increase the eleventh grade students’ interest and achievement in the learning subject matter of buffer-solution at the Lintas-Minat Chemistry 1 class of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta. The achievement percentage of students’ interest aspect in the first cycle is 55% and the second cycle increases to 80%. The learning achievement of knowledge aspects increases from 60% in cycle I to 80% in the second cycle. The learning achievement of attitude aspect (spirituality, honesty, responsibility, and cooperation) reached 100% in cycle I with unfinished cooperation indicator and 100% in cycle II with completed of cooperation attitude indicator. For learning achievement in skill aspect in cycle I has reached 100%.
