Abstract

This study aims to develop a science learning material using PjBL model integrated STEM approaches to enhance students' communication skills. The method used is the 4D Research and Development (R&D) model and an experimental method for testing the effectiveness of the device. The study population was all VII class in one of the junior high schools in the South Tangerang region with samples taken using a random sampling technique of 76 people. The instrument used was a device feasibility test sheet and an observation skill communication sheet. The data obtained were then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed the components of the learning device in the form of syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials and student worksheets, were very feasible to use with an average of 3.62. In addition, each item validity assessment instrument is also declared valid for use. The observed communication skills also increased from 1.59 to 3.15 with a gain value of 0.64 (medium category) for the experimental class. Meanwhile, the gain value for the control class is 0.005 (very low category). The difference in the gain value indicates that the learning device is effective in improving students' communication skills.

Abstract

This study’s aim was to find misconception pattern on partial salt hydrolysis on eleventh grade student science major at SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo. Misconception was identified using two-tier diagnostic test completed with CRI supported by observation on learning process also interview. Two-tier diagnostic test composed of 16 questions. The approach of this study was qualitative description which was held in February-June 2018. The subject of this study were the eleventh grade students class IPA 1 and IPA 4 as many as 72 students. According to the result showed that there was misconception on almost every concept’s part. Based on the student answer analysis result shows if the pH, relative atomic mass, and volume were known student were having biggest misconception on counting salt’s mass are, 75%. The reason of misconception that occurs on partial salt hydrolysis is come from the student it self that is student’s uncomplete reasoning pattern.

Abstract

Teachers have an essential role in preparing students for Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) or Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM). It takes preparation, readiness, and a good teacher's perception of the AKM so that the implementation of this program goes well. This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions in secondary schools related to the opportunities and challenges of implementing AKM. A total of 66 secondary school science teachers participated as respondents in this study. Respondents in this study were randomly selected based on their willingness to fill out a given survey. The data collection instruments were six open-ended questions. This instrument is distributed online using Google Forms. The data obtained were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study reveal that the majority of science teachers have the perception that AKM policy is appropriate and suitable for implementation. However, the availability of supporting facilities and ICT literacy of students and teachers is considered a challenge that must be met. On the other hand, AKM and National Assessment (NA) are considered opportunities to improve the quality of education both nationally and locally in schools. This research is expected to reference the perception of science teachers about the challenges and opportunities for implementing AKM policies in junior high schools

Abstract

21st-century learning presents chemistry teachers with new challenges in teaching abstract chemistry concepts with various technologies that continue to develop. One of the media that can visualize abstract chemical concepts is Augmented Reality (AR). AR media developed in chemistry learning needs to be valid so that it can be used properly. Therefore, this study aims to examine the validity of the Android-based AR media developed. Four education practitioners carried out the validation as experts, and 13 students participated as respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively with the Rasch model using the facet software. The results of the analysis show that the Exact Agreements are 41.10%, and the Expected Agreements are 42.20%. The most challenging aspect to achieve is media design, while profit is the most easily agreed-upon aspect. Based on this assessment, in the development of augmented reality media, it is necessary to pay attention to display aspects and 3D objects suitable for viewing a material so that it is easier for users to understand the material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mengembangkan modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan proses sains pada materi larutan penyangga, (2) menguji kelayakan modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan proses sains pada materi larutan penyangga, (3) mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran setelah menggunakan modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Teladan Way Jepara, SMA N 1 Labuhan Maringgai, dan SMA Kosgoro Sribhawono di Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Penelitian pengembangan modul kimia ini menggunakan 9 tahapan prosedur Borg and Gall meliputi: (1) penelitian pendahuluan dan pengumpulan data, (2) perencanaan, (3) penge,bangan produk, (4) uji coba lapangan awal, (5) revisi produk awal, (6) uji coba pelaksanaan lapangan, (7) penyempurnaan produk hasil uji coba lapangan, (8) uji pelaksanaan lapangan, (9) penyempurnaan produk akhir. Analisis kelayakan modul berdasarkan skor kriteria. Analisis efektifitas modul menggunakan uji-t pihak kanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi larutan penyangga telah dikembangkan dengan menggunakan 9 tahapan prosedur Borg and Gall. Modul tersebut dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan proses sains. (2) modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing mendapat penilaian dengan kategori “Baik” sehingga layak digunakan pada proses pembelajaran (3) hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa modul kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing efektif digunakan pada sekolah dengan kategori tinggi,sedang dan rendah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata prestasi belajar kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan Modul Pereaksi Kimia berbasis SETS, (2) menganalisis kelayakan Modul Pereaksi Kimia berbasis SETS yang dikembangkan, dan (3) menguji efektivitas Modul Pereaksi Kimia berbasis SETS yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (R & D) mengacu pada model Borg & Gall yang disederhanakan menjadi 9 tahapan, dengan mengurangi tahap diseminasi, dilaksanakan mulai bulan September 2014 hingga Desember 2014 di SMK Negeri 1 Trucuk Klaten, SMK Batur Jaya 2 Ceper Klaten, dan SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2014/ 2015. Data kelayakan modul diambil dengan lembar penilaian yang diberikan kepada peserta didik dan guru. Data untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan modul diperoleh dengan teknis tes untuk mengetahui hasil belajar kognitif, penilaian diri dan observasi untuk penilaian afektif, serta observasi dan portofolio untuk penilaian psikomotor. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan: (1) hasil tiap tahapan penelitian dan pengembangan pada: tahap penelitian dan pengumpulan informasi disimpulkan bahwa dibutuhkan Modul Berbasis SETS, tahap perencanaan dihasilkan draft awal modul, tahap pengembangan dihasilkan draf modul I, tahap uji coba lapangan awal dan revisi dihasilkan draf modul II, uji coba menengah dan revisi dihasilkan draf modul III, dan uji skala luas dan penyempurnaan produk dihasilkan produk akhir, (2) kualitas modul berdasarkan penilaian validator diperoleh VAiken sebesar 0,79 - 1,00, menunjukkan bahwa modul layak digunakan. Rata- rata penilaian kualitas modul oleh peserta didik dan guru pada semua uji memiliki katagori “Baik hingga Sangat Baik”, (3) efektivitas penggunaan modul menunjukkan hasil bahwa di SMK Negeri 1 Trucuk kelas yang menggunakan modul berbasis SETS mempunyai nilai pengetahuan dan sikap lebih baik dari pada kelas yang menggunakan catatan dan ringkasan materi dari guru, tetapi pada aspek keterampilannya tidak ada perbedaan, sedangkan di SMK Negeri 2 Sukoharjo, kelas yang menggunakan modul berbasis SETS mempunyai nilai pengetahuan lebih tinggi, sedangkan nilai sikap dan keterampilan antara dua kelas tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E, (2) mengetahui kualitas Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E, (3) mengetahui efektivitas Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian dan pengembangan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E menggunakan prosedur penelitian dan pengembangan dari Borg and Gall yang disederhanakan menjadi 9 tahapan yaitu: (1) penelitian pendahuluan dan pengumpulan data, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan produk, (4) uji coba lapangan awal, (5) revisi produk awal, (6) uji coba pelaksanaan lapangan, (7) penyempurnaan produk hasil uji coba lapangan, (8) uji coba pelaksanaan lapangan, (9) penyempurnaan produk akhir. Analisis Data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan: (1) telah berhasil dikembangkan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E pada materi Laju Reaksi yang dilakukan berdasarkan tahapan penelitian dan pengembangan R&D yang terdiri dari 9 tahapan, (2) kualitas Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E pada materi Laju Reaksi memiliki kualitas sangat baik pada aspek komponen kelayakan isi, bahasa, penyajian dan kegrafisan dengan persentase sebesar 84,06% berdasarkan penilaian siswa dan 90,88% berdasarkan penilaian guru, (hasil uji efektivitas pada aspek pengetahuan terdapat perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen (pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Learning Cycle 5E disertai Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E ) dan kelas baseline (pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E tanpa disertai Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) berbasis Learning Cycle 5E ),, sedangkan pada aspek sikap dan keterampilan tidak terdapat perbedaan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui penguasaan langkah-langkah penyelesaian soal model testlet pada materi stoikiometri, siswa kelas X SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif dengan instrumen penelitian berupa 10 stem soal. Responden terdiri dari 45 siswa yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan langkah-langkah penyelesaian soal pada setiap sub pokok materi stoikiometri adalah sebagai berikut: hukum kekekalan massa tergolong tinggi (73,33%), hukum perbandingan tetap tergolong sedang (57,78%), hukum kelipatan perbandingan tergolong rendah (35,56%), hukum perbandingan volume tergolong sangat tinggi (82,22%), hubungan mol dengan massa zat tergolong tinggi (66,67%), hubungan mol dengan volume zat tergolong sedang (53,33%), rumus empiris dan rumus molekul tergolong rendah (40,00%), kuantitas pereaksi dan hasil reaksi tergolong sedang (60,00%), pereaksi batas tergolong sangat rendah (20,00%), dan kemurnian zat tergolong rendah (33,33%). Berdasarkan data persentase tingkat penguasaan siswa pada masing-masing langkah penyelesaian soal stoikiometri siswa kelas X SMA, sub materi hukum perbandingan volume dikuasai oleh sebagian besar siswa, sedangkan konsep pereaksi pembatas hanya dikuasai oleh sebagian kecil siswa.Kata Kunci: Kompetensi Guru, Kelompok Peer, Prestasi Belajar Siswa

Abstract

This study aims to increase student learning activities and achievement on redox reactions subject matter in class X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Boyolali through the implementation of a guided inquiry learning model with chemmind map media. This study applies the Classroom Action Research procedure according to Kemmis and Mc Taggart in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were students of class X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Boyolali in the 2016/2017 academic year as many as 37 students. The object of research is student learning activities and achievements. Activities include visual activities, oral activities, listening activities, and writing activities. Sources of data come from teachers and students. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, tests, questionnaires, and documentation studies, then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods. The validity of the data using the method triangulation   during the learning process from home and the use of technology as an alternative solution to these challenges. technique. The results showed an increase in student activity and achievement. The percentage of achievement of student learning activities during the first cycle was 97.30%. The learning achievement in the knowledge aspect in the first cycle was 54.05% increased to 86.49% in the second cycle, the attitude aspect was 97.30% in the first cycle, and the skills aspect was 100% in the first cycle. With the guidance of the teacher, students have able to compile the chemmind map media according to Buzan's theory with 100% achievement in cycle I.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran kimia berbasis problem based learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar. Penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan penarikan kesimpulan melalui analisis statistik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas XI IPA SMA 1 Wera.Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah efektivitas tes hasil belajar, uji N gain, uji dua sampel independen dan uji t. Data yang dianalisis berupa nilai hasil posttestyang dilaksanakan setelah pemberian perlakuan. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan uji dua sampel independen, kemudian dilanjut dengan uji t. Semua pengujian hipotesis dilakukan pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Data hasil belajar kognitif siswa dilihat dari nilai posttest kelas kontrol diperoleh 75,77 dengan standar deviasi 4,47 sedangkan untuk kelas ekspreimen diperoleh 79,75 dengan standar deviasi 7,12 dan ditunjukkan juga dari hasil nilai rata-rata gain untuk kelas kontrol sebesar 0,56 dan untuk kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,65 dengan kategori sedang. Hasil uji t diperoleh nilai 0,011 < 0,05 maka Ha diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahawa model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa
