Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women remains a serious public health challenge due to its impact on both maternal and fetal health, ranging from delivery complications and anemia to the risk of low birth weight (LBW) and stunting. Data from the Tolitoli District Health Office in 2023 reported 406 cases of CED among pregnant women, with the highest prevalence (19.2%) found in Baolan Subdistrict. This condition highlights the need to strengthen the role of community health cadres in early detection and nutritional support for pregnant women. This Community Service Program aimed to improve cadres’ knowledge and skills in monitoring maternal nutritional status through simple anthropometric measurements (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference, body weight, and height). The activity was conducted in Buntuna Village, within the working area of Baolan Health Center, Tolitoli District, on July 30, 2025, involving 18 health cadres. The methods included education using presentations and booklets, a question-and-answer session, and hands-on practice of anthropometric measurements. Knowledge was assessed using pre- and post-tests with questionnaires, while skills were observed using a checklist-based assessment. The post-test results indicated a significant improvement in knowledge from 40% to 86%, while skills increased from 11% to 100%. Prior to the intervention, only two cadres were skilled, but after training, all participants were able to perform measurements accurately. These findings demonstrate that practice-based training is effective in strengthening cadre capacity and has the potential to enhance the effectiveness of CED prevention programs at the community level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of Gus Baha's online lecture on the Santri Gayeng YouTube channel, as well as evaluate the response and impact on netizens using Aristotle's rhetorical theory (ethos, patos, and logos). The research method used is qualitative analysis with data collection techniques through content observation, digital documentation, and literature review related to digital da'wah and religious rhetoric. The Santri Gayeng channel was chosen because it has the largest number of followers among other channels that broadcast Gus Baha's lectures, so it is considered representative in describing the pattern of public acceptance. The results of the study show that Gus Baha's online lecture functions as a means of religious refreshment for the digital society, facilitates understanding of the science of the Qur'an and Hadith, and creates a humanistic and inclusive da'wah space. Gus Baha's rhetorical strategy that stands out through the power of ethos (scientific authority), patos (emotional closeness), and logos (rational argumentation) makes his da'wah easily accepted by various circles. The da'wah that he conveyed did not attack other groups with different views, so that it was able to reach audiences across sects and backgrounds. These findings confirm that online lectures are not only a new alternative in religious learning, but also play an important role in strengthening religious moderation in digital public spaces. This study also contributes to the digital da'wah literature by showing how charismatic scholars use new media to build religious communication that is more relevant to the needs of contemporary society.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of Islamic da‘wah targeting Generation Z (Gen-Z) in Indonesia, focusing on the formulation of innovative and adaptive strategies. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytical method, the research draws on participatory observation and document analysis. The findings show that Islamic da‘wah has significant strengths in adapting to digital platforms such as social media and video-sharing apps, with visually engaging content that resonates with Gen-Z. Community-based approaches also foster emotional engagement with Islamic values. However, weaknesses remain, including limited digital literacy among preachers and the lack of structured, consistent content. Conventional da‘wah models are often too formal, making them less appealing to Gen-Z’s preference for interactive and expressive communication. Opportunities lie in the expansive reach of digital media and Gen-Z’s growing interest in social and global issues. Da‘wah that promotes values like justice, compassion, and social responsibility aligns with Gen-Z’s concerns. Nevertheless, several threats challenge the effectiveness of da‘wah, including the unregulated flow of online information, exposure to misleading or radical content, and the influence of pop culture and hedonism, which can fuel skepticism toward religious symbols. Social polarization further necessitates inclusive and non-dogmatic approaches. The study concludes that effective da‘wah strategies should strengthen digital competencies among da'i, develop structured content, and align messaging with Gen-Z’s digital culture while emphasizing Islam’s universal values. A strategic, contextual approach is essential for ensuring that Islamic da‘wah remains relevant, engaging, and impactful for Gen-Z.

Abstract

Drug abuse poses a significant threat to the younger generation. National Narcotics Agency (2023) data indicates 312,000 users among students. This community service initiative aims to enhance the understanding and preventive capacity of students at Mercubaktijaya Padang University regarding the dangers of drugs through socialization of the P4GN program (Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking), supporting the realization of a BERSINAR Campus (Drug-Free Campus). The method utilized an educational intervention based on interactive lectures and participatory discussions, involving 150 students. Effectiveness was evaluated using a one-group pretest-posttest design with standardized questionnaires, analyzed statistically using a paired sample t-test. Results indicated a significant increase in knowledge (p<0.05). The proportion of participants with "Excellent" understanding rose from 15% to 68%. Furthermore, 90% of participants reported increased awareness of legal risks, and 85% expressed commitment to actively engage in prevention efforts within the campus environment. In conclusion, structured P4GN socialization proved effective in enhancing student literacy and fostering critical attitudes. This activity contributes to strengthening the prevention pillar at the community level. For sustainability, the establishment of a university-level P4GN task force and the integration of this material into student programs are recommended.

Abstract

The rapid global growth of the tourism industry has positioned halal tourism as one of the most promising sectors in Muslim-majority countries. Indonesia, with its large Muslim population and rich natural and cultural diversity, holds significant potential to become a leading destination in the halal tourism market. This study aims to examine the opportunities and challenges faced by Indonesia’s halal tourism industry and to formulate strategic recommendations for its development. Employing a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and SWOT analysis, this study explores internal and external factors influencing the industry. The findings reveal that Indonesia’s strengths lie in the growing Muslim population, increasing awareness of the halal lifestyle, and government support through institutional coordination. Meanwhile, the main challenges include relatively low-quality infrastructure compared to competitors, limited technological integration, and the absence of specific financial and legal frameworks for halal tourism. The study recommends a growth strategy through horizontal integration, emphasizing digital branding and social media promotion, as well as the urgency of establishing a national law on halal tourism. The novelty of this research lies in its comprehensive positioning of Indonesia’s halal tourism industry using SWOT analysis to bridge the gap between potential and policy direction, offering strategic insight for policymakers and industry stakeholders.

Abstract

Fisherfolk welfare is a strategic issue in coastal economic development in Aceh. This study aims to analyze the relationship between capture fisheries production, Fishermen’s Terms of Trade (FTT/NTN), the availability of fishery port infrastructure, and the contribution of the fisheries subsector to Aceh’s GRDP during 2020–2024. A quantitative descriptive approach was applied using secondary data from BPS, the Aceh Marine and Fisheries Office, as well as provincial development planning documents (RPJM and Renstra). The results indicate that Aceh’s capture fisheries production shows an overall increasing trend despite annual fluctuations, with the highest production recorded in 2022. The Fishermen’s Terms of Trade have significantly improved since 2021 and consistently remained above the welfare threshold (FTT 100). The fisheries subsector contributes steadily to the regional economy, maintaining a share of 5.15–5.63% of Aceh’s GRDP. Additionally, the presence of 26 fishery ports plays a crucial role in enhancing supply chain efficiency, stabilizing fish prices, and improving product competitiveness. This study concludes that the welfare of fisherfolk is influenced not only by production volume but also by infrastructure effectiveness, market stability, and fisheries governance. Policy implications emphasize the need for port modernization, cold-chain strengthening, livelihood diversification, and coordinated stakeholder collaboration to sustainably enhance fisherfolk welfare in Aceh.

Abstract

This study analyzes the internal communication co-orientation dynamics at a family business startup, The Padel Side, amidst the generational gap between Millennial management and Gen Z staff. Using an explanatory qualitative case study method (Yin, 2018) and Organizational Co-orientation Theory (Taylor, 1993), the research identifies four fundamental distortions: (1) a false consensus effect at the management level that creates a decision-making "black box," failing to translate into clear operational instructions; (2) failure in objectifying the meaning of "proactivity," where leaders view it as a moral/loyalty standard, while staff perceive it as a systemic risk leading to "freezing"; (3) digital text pathology through WhatsApp that triggers semantic ambiguity and hermeneutic anxiety among staff due to the loss of non-verbal cues; and (4) kinship stratification creating power asymmetry between family staff (symmetrical relationship) and non-family staff (complementary relationship/self-censorship). The study concludes that the codification of written SOPs and the implementation of hybrid communication protocols are crucial to mitigate message distortion and agency crisis within the organization.
