Abstract

Cryptocurrency is an investment commodity that can generate returns and already has a license to trade in exchange. This study aims to examine the prospects of digital cryptocurrency assets more deeply by summarising the results of literature studies in various countries. In each of the continents scattered in the world, some countries support the existence of cryptocurrency as an investment asset and a means of payment. As a result of this study, it is known that many countries whose governments make strict regulations on support for legality and allow cryptocurrency transactions include: European Union members, namely Germany and Italy, and non-member countries of the European Union, such as Gibraltar. Furthermore, in the Americas, there are Canada and Venezuela. In East Asia and the Asia Pacific, Australia and Japan support the existence of cryptocurrency. Meanwhile, in Southeast Asian countries, there are contradictions between several countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, that reject cryptocurrency transactions because they are considered threats to money laundering and the problem of terrorism. However, Singapore and Thailand will protect cryptocurrency investors in their countries and ensure legal regulations for cryptocurrency transactions as investment assets and legal means of payment transactions. Investments in digital currencies or cryptocurrencies are increasingly prevalent worldwide and are supported by significant price increases. Of course, this is a prospect that cryptocurrency transactions can meet the expectations of all users in the world by making regulations regarding the legality of cryptocurrency, so that the transaction model can be integrated between users, both as an asset and a substitute for international payment currencies.

Abstract

This community service article describes a business development assistance program for a Badan Usaha Milik Gampong (BUMG), or village-owned enterprise, in Gampong Teungoh, Nisam District, Aceh Utara. The program was implemented during June 2023 using a structured sequence of presentation, guided discussion, question-and-answer sessions, document review, and evaluation. The assistance focused on business planning and budgeting as the operational foundation for developing sustainable BUMG enterprises. The source report identified several managerial constraints, including limited business units, unwritten business arrangements, restricted capital, inadequate business facilities, weak revenue and expenditure planning, limited human-resource capacity, and insufficient internal control. The activity strengthened the partner’s understanding of the components of work plans, business objectives, budgeting, accountability, and the relationship between diversification and financial projections. The resulting strategic priorities were market-based business mapping, written planning documents, realistic revenue and cost projections, gradual diversification, clearer internal control, and continuous capacity building. The program also created a forum for interaction between village enterprise managers and university academics. Because no quantitative pre-test and post-test data were recorded, the outcomes are interpreted descriptively. The findings show that planning and budgeting assistance can serve as an initial governance instrument for directing BUMG development toward accountable, participatory, and sustainable village economic management.

Abstract

Household waste management at the village level requires behavioral changes, institutional support, and the utilization of waste as a resource. This Community Service activity aims to increase the knowledge, awareness, and skills of the Lancang Garam Village community, Lhokseumawe City, through a circular economy-based Green Waste Management approach towards a zero-waste community. The program was implemented from July to November 2025 with the core activity on November 3, 2025. Methods included initial surveys, interviews and FGDs, outreach, training on waste sorting, organic waste processing, inorganic waste utilization, participatory approaches, education, appropriate technology, and collaboration with officials and community groups. The report results show an increase in understanding and awareness, the implementation of waste sorting from source and processing of organic waste into compost, and the formation of the embryo of a waste management group at the village level. Program achievements also include accepted journal articles, Copyright IPR, online media publications, and an increase in the level of application readiness from the range of 4-6 to 7-8. The findings confirm that participatory education supported by local governance can be the foundation for sustainable, circular economy-based waste management.

Abstract

This study analyzes the investment opportunities and challenges in Indonesia's mining sector amid volatile global commodity prices and shifting macroeconomic conditions in 2025-2026. Despite its strategic role as a source of foreign exchange, state revenue, and downstream mineral industry development, the mining sector's contribution to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product declined from over twelve percent in 2022 to below nine percent in 2025, becoming the only major economic sector to contract even as national economic growth remained solid. Using a descriptive qualitative method based on secondary data from government publications, stock exchange authorities, and financial media, this study examines the sector's macroeconomic environment, the financial performance of listed mining companies, and the interaction between commodity cycles and monetary policy. The results show divergent performance across subsectors, with gold and nickel producers recording strong profit growth while coal producers faced declining revenue amid weaker global coal prices; despite short-term market corrections, foreign investors continued net buying of selected mining stocks, reflecting sustained long-term confidence. The analysis identifies mineral downstreaming, the global energy transition, digitalization, and government policy support as the main investment opportunities, while global economic uncertainty, commodity price fluctuation, regulatory change, and environmental and governance risks remain the principal challenges. The study concludes that Indonesia's mining sector offers a high-risk, high-return investment profile best suited to investors with a medium- to long-term horizon, and recommends portfolio diversification across commodity subsectors, close monitoring of macroeconomic indicators and regulatory developments, and a gradual investment strategy to manage short-term price volatility

Abstract

This study analyzes the effects of economic volatility (proxied by inflation), credit risk (proxied by the Non-Performing Loan ratio, NPL), and economic growth (proxied by real GDP growth) on the stock portfolio performance of Indonesia’s banking sector, measured with the Sharpe Ratio. The study is motivated by the fluctuating performance of banking stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) amid shifting global and domestic macroeconomic conditions, and is grounded in Modern Portfolio Theory and risk–return theory. A quantitative approach was applied to panel data from banks listed on the IDX selected through purposive sampling, which were analyzed using panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) as indicated by the Chow test. The results show that inflation has a positive effect on banking stock portfolio performance, although the effect is only weakly significant, so the hypothesis proposing a negative and significant effect is rejected. The Non-Performing Loan ratio has a negative and significant effect, so the corresponding hypothesis is accepted. Real GDP growth has a positive and significant effect, consistent with the hypothesized direction, so the corresponding hypothesis is accepted. These findings indicate that economic growth is the most dominant and consistent driver of banking stock portfolio performance, followed by credit risk with a smaller contribution, while inflation had no conventionally significant effect during the study period.
