Abstract

Bank performance in the last 10 years has improved marked by an increase in loan growth but followed by a declining trend in profitability. Out of 47 banks, 28 were selected as samples using purposive sampling—data analysis techniques using IBM SPS Amos 24.0 software. From the results of data analysis, the results show that loan growth has a positive and insignificant effect on return on assets, loan to assets has a negative and insignificant effect on return on assets, size has a positive and significant effect on return on assets, loan growth and size have a positive and negligible effect on non-performing loans and loan to assets has a significant negative effect on non-performing loans. The results of mediation testing using the Sobel test, the results show that non-performing loans can provide a partial mediating role in the relationship between loan to assets and return on assets, but non-performing loans cannot act as mediation of the relationship between loan growth and size to the return on assets.

Abstract

Abstract

This study produced a zakat tariff formula; i.e. the annual Hijri zakat rate (2.5%) divided by the number of days in 1 Hijri year; the result of division multiplied by the number of days in 1 year AD; i.e. 2.5% : (JHTH) x (JHTM).  The calculation result is 2.5%: 354 x 365 = 2.577%. Namely 2.5% zakat rate for hijri year, and 2.577% zakat rate for AD year (as compensation for the difference of 11 in 1 year). The formula for calculating zakat trading assets with hawl hijri year is: (BD) + (U) + (PMD) – (UJT) x 2.5%; i.e. unsold merchandise (BD symbol) plus unspent money (U symbol) plus receivables that may be paid (PMD symbol) minus the debt due (symbol UJT) multiplied by the zakat rate of the hiriah year (2.5%); and the formula for calculating zakat trading assets with hawl AD is: (BD) + (U) + (PMD) – (UJT) x 2.5%. The two formulas for calculating zakat are basically the same, the only difference is the rate of the hiriah year (2.5%) and the rate of the common year (2.577%).

Abstract

Islamic economic law is unresponsive and tends to be legal-formal in supervising Sharia finance and economic development. Economics, in fact, emphasizes the aspects of flexibility and convenience. This study aims to reveal the response of fatwas to economic and financial developments using the murā‘at al-‘ilal wa al-maṣāliḥ approach. The study use qualitative research method. The study used qualitative research methods, analyzed using the proposed fiqh and fiqh approaches. The data studied is the fatwa of the National Sharia Council (Dewan Syariah Nasional/DSN) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia/MUI). This fatwa is examined by comparing chronologically the time, the opinion of the clergy, and economic developments. The three fatwas became the focus and debate of scholars examined to find patterns in responding to the needs of financial and economic transactions. As a result, fatwas are dynamic and responsive to industry needs. The law can change since the legal reasons (‘illat) behind it also changes. The existence of a law lies in how the cause of the law works; hence, in fatwa, there are things changing and some are permanent legal provisions. This finding has implications for corrections to previous legal provisions and changes to contracts made between financial institutions and clients.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the legality of interfaith marriage in Indonesia, including legal review, implementation management, and psychological impact on the family. The research method used is library research with a qualitative research approach. The study results show that policy recommendations must include changes to marriage laws, increasing public awareness, and education about the importance of tolerance and inclusivity in a multicultural society like Indonesia. The convoluted recording process and the inconsistency between state law and religious law are the main challenges that must be overcome. The implementation of the legality of interfaith marriage in Indonesia is still experiencing bureaucratic rigidity and a lack of coordination between related institutions. This creates administrative barriers that often prevent interfaith couples from obtaining official recognition of their marriage.  Couples of different religions and their families experience significant psychological impacts, including social stigma, identity conflicts, psychological distress, and difficulties in educating children. This indicates the need for greater psychological and social support for interfaith couples

Abstract

Oil Palm has a strategic role in the Indonesian economy. The use of anorganic fertilizers in the cultivation of Oil Palm is to add nutrients to optimize the growth and yield of plants. The use of anorganic fertilizers significantly  increase crop production, but the use of anorganic fertilizers in a relatively long time period has  negative impact on soil conditions. The use of organic fertilizers can be an alternative in reducing the negative impact of the use of anorganic fertilizers. Compost of empty fruit bunch (EFB) of oil palm has the potential to substitute most of the nutrients needed by plants. This study aimed to determine the effect of local organic fertilizers on yields of oil palm. The research was implemented from January 2016 until March 2016, in the oil palm plantation area of PT Bio Nusantara Bengkulu, Village of Pondok Kelapa, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu.  Dose of EFB was as treatment in this study, consisted of  control,  4 kg EFB /plant, 8 kg /plant,  12 kg /plant, 16 kg /plant. The treatment was repeated three times with 10 plants per treatment unit in order to obtain 150 samples. The results showed that the dose 21.03 kg EFB can improve the greenish of leaves with the result of 78.65. Dose of EFB 15.38 kg/plant was able to increase the weight of loose/detached fruit to 12.22 grams. The  10.5 kg mesocarp thickness reached 0.96 cm when the plant was treated with EFB 10.5 kg/plant.Keywords: compost, empty fruit bunch, oil palm, organic fertilizer, yield

Abstract

Cultivation of cayenne pepper is still much dependent on the use of inorganic fertilizers on a large scale with a high dose. Optimizing the use of inorganic fertilizers needs to be done so that the cost of chili farming can be minimized and more environmentally friendly. Optimization of cayenne pepper cultivation can be done through intensification efforts that is through the addition of biological fertilizers and IAA growth regulators. It is necessary to study the use of biological fertilizer and IAA on the growth and yield of cayenne pepper. The objective of this research is to get the optimum dosage of biofertilizer and IAA concentration for growth and yield of cayenne pepper. This research was conducted from September to January 2016. This study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with two factors. The first factor was biological fertilizer consisting of: B0 (without biological fertilizer), B1 (2 g per polybag), B2 (4 g per polybag), B3 (6 g per polybag) and second factor ie IAA spray concentration: without IAA), I1 (2 mgL -1), I2 (4 mgL-1), I3 (6 mgL-1) were repeated four times to obtain 64 experimental units. The results showed that biological fertilizer treatment significantly affect the leaves leaf variation with the optimum dosage of biomass fertilizer that is 2.29 g per plant produces leaf area 5.59 cm2. Furthermore very significant effect on fruit weight variables with increased dosage of 2 g can increase the weight of chili pepper fruit. While the interaction of dosage of biological fertilizer and IAA concentration did not significantly affect each observation variables.

Abstract

Extending the planting area to a less-fertile soil, such as Ultisols, become inevitable choice to increase the national chili pepper production in Indonesia as this types of soil is the largest part of dry land of Indonesia, about 29.7% or around 51 million ha.  However, efforts to increase its productivity by providing sufficient fertilizers application is most frequently inefficient because in the conventional fertilizer applications, broadcasted fertilizer on the soil bed, are not readily available for the plant as their solubility is limited under the plastic mulch and still in the form of granular until the end of planting season.  Fertigation, therefore, maybe the answer for this problem.  The objective of this study was to determine the best NPK fertigation method on four chili pepper hybrids.  The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with three replication, and the treatments were arranged in a split plot design.  As the main plots were NPK fertigation intensity, i.e. 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 0% fertigation with the remnant fertilizers were circularly broadcasted surrounding the plant.  As the subplots were chili pepper hybrids, i.e. ‘Maxima’, H39, H14, and ‘UNIB CHR17’.  The results showed that there was no interaction effect of fertigation intensity indicated that all hybrid genotypes showed similar pattern of responses.  The H39 hybrid had better vegetative growth compared to other hybrids in term of plant height, dichotomous height, stem diameter, number of branches, plant fresh-weight.  Whereas the hybrid cultivar ‘Maxima’ showed the highest yield followed by H14 and cultivar ‘UNIB CHR17’.  The 100% fertigation was the best method of NPK fertilizer application for chili pepper in Ultisols.keywowrd: fertigation, chili pepper, fertilizer application, acidic soil
