Abstract

Bamboo is a very abundant resource with high diversity. There are 157 types of bamboo in Indonesia, one of which is petung bamboo. Petung bamboo is used as raw material for handicrafts and construction, but much of it remains unused and becomes waste, making it a potential alternative fuel source such as bio-briquettes. This study aims to determine the effect of compression pressure on the characteristics of petung bamboo charcoal briquettes and to determine the suitability of the quality of petung bamboo charcoal briquettes according to SNI 01-6235-2000. The research design used was a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with compression pressure factors consisting of 200 psi, 350 psi, and 500 psi. The conversion of bamboo biomass into charcoal was carried out using the pyrolysis method with a drum kiln. The results showed that the highest average density value was found in treatment T3, which was 0.53 g/cm3, while the lowest average density value of charcoal briquettes was found in treatment T1, which was 0.44 g/cm3. Based on SNI, the moisture content that met the SNI standard was found in treatment T2 (350 psi) < 8%. The ash content of all treatments of charcoal briquettes meets the standard of < 8%, the volatile matter content of all treatments of charcoal briquettes does not meet the standard of <15%, and the calorific value of all treatments of charcoal briquettes meets the standard of > 5000 cal/g. Compression pressure does not affect the characteristics of petung bamboo charcoal briquettes. All characteristics of petung bamboo charcoal briquettes in this study met the SNI No. 01-623-2000 standard, except for the volatile matter content and moisture content at pressures T1 (200 psi) and T2 (350 psi).

Abstract

This study examines how the public interprets the implementation of the Indonesian Ulema Council's National Sharia Council Fatwa on sharia insurance in sharia insurance products. The approach used is descriptive qualitative through in-depth interviews with six informants selected purposively. The data was organized and read repeatedly, then analyzed thematically to find patterns of views, especially related to contracts, tabarru' fund flows, and the claims process. The results show an initial positive attitude due to the religious legitimacy of the fatwa, but technical understanding is still limited. Doubts mainly arise regarding the differences in principles with conventional insurance, clarity of costs, transparency of fund management, and the speed and certainty of claims. Perceptions are influenced by religious values, exposure to information, level of education, the influence of family/religious leaders, and service experience. The study recommends simple one-page product communication, ongoing community-based education, and concise periodic reporting to make fatwa implementation more effective, increase trust, and strengthen interest in participating in Islamic insurance.

Abstract

Anxiety during pregnancy was recognized as a common maternal mental health concern with important implications for maternal well-being and perinatal outcomes. Evidence suggested that anxiety experienced in late pregnancy was more context-specific and qualitatively distinct from general anxiety, yet its underlying structure remained insufficiently examined. This study examined whether anxiety in late pregnancy constituted a distinct multidimensional psychological construct using a theory-driven psychometric approach. A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 280 women in late pregnancy between 28 and 40 weeks of gestation. A structured self-report instrument was developed through conceptual analysis and expert review, and its latent factor structure was evaluated using confirmatory factor analysis within a structural equation modeling framework. The analysis supported a three-domain multidimensional structure encompassing childbirth-related anxiety, fetal health anxiety, and maternal mental readiness and self-confidence. The model demonstrated acceptable overall fit (χ²/df = 3.15; RMSEA = 0.088; CFI = 0.97; TLI = 0.96), with all indicators loading significantly on their respective latent dimensions (standardized loadings ≈ 0.94–1.01). These findings indicated that anxiety in late pregnancy represented a distinct multidimensional construct, supporting dimension-specific assessment in antenatal and perinatal mental health research.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the structural inequalities and systematic impacts of polygamy in Indonesia, which often ignores the principle of gender justice. Although legally restricted by the Marriage Law and the Compilation of Islamic Law, requirements such as "wife's consent" and "guaranteed justice" are difficult to substantively implement due to strong patriarchal bias and unequal power relations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the construction of gender justice in the discourse and practice of polygamy through a multidisciplinary approach to uncover its psychosocial, economic, and health impacts. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis with theological, juridical, and sociological approaches, involving the reinterpretation of religious texts and an analysis of positive legal regulations in Indonesia. The results show that polygamy causes multidimensional suffering, including chronic subordination and anxiety for the first wife, the loss of full custody of children, and increased mental and physical health risks. Theologically, polygamy in the Qur'an is restrictive and contextual, not a universal recommendation. Therefore, monogamy is more aligned with the goals of Islamic marriage, namely sakinah (sacred, loving, and compassionate), while polygamy should be viewed only as a rukhsah (emergency relief) in very limited circumstances. Therefore, legal reconstruction based on gender equality is urgent to prevent exploitative practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of parents’ income, consumer behavior, long-term planning preferences, perceived benefits of education insurance, and social environment on the demand for education insurance. The research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 respondents who are parents of school-aged children. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The partial test (t-test) results indicate that all independent variables have a positive and significant effect on the demand for education insurance. Parents’ income shows a t-value of 9.792 with a regression coefficient of 0.329 and a significance level of 0.000. Consumer behavior has a significant effect with a t-value of 4.737, a coefficient of 0.199, and a significance level of 0.000. Long-term planning preferences also demonstrate a significant effect with a t-value of 4.253, a coefficient of 0.329, and a significance level of 0.000. The perceived benefits of education insurance emerge as the most dominant variable, with a standardized beta coefficient of 0.675, a t-value of 6.422, and a significance level of 0.000. Meanwhile, the social environment has a significant effect with a t-value of 2.965, a coefficient of 0.033, and a significance level of 0.000. Simultaneously, the F-test results show an F-value of 24.614, which is greater than the F-table value of 2.31, with a significance level of 0.000, indicating that all independent variables jointly have a significant effect on the demand for education insurance. These findings suggest that the demand for education insurance is influenced by a combination of economic factors, consumer behavior, perceived benefits, long-term planning orientation, and social environment. Therefore, improving financial literacy and conducting comprehensive dissemination of the benefits of education insurance are essential to enhance public demand for education insurance.

Abstract

Childbirth readiness is a multidimensional construct encompassing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual preparedness, yet contextually appropriate instruments for Indonesian pregnant women remain limited. This study aimed to develop and pilot test the Childbirth Readiness Questionnaire (CRQ) for third-trimester pregnant women in Indonesia. A methodological pilot design was employed, including expert review (n = 5) and field testing with 110 pregnant women. Content validity was evaluated using the Item Content Validity Index (I-CVI), while preliminary construct performance was examined through descriptive statistics and corrected item–total correlations. Internal consistency reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha. All nine items demonstrated acceptable content validity (I-CVI ≥ 0.80) and adequate item–total correlations (r = 0.34–0.61). The overall scale showed satisfactory internal consistency (α = 0.82). Dimension-level descriptive scores supported the conceptual structure of physical–cognitive, psychological–spiritual, and social support readiness. These findings indicate that the CRQ has promising preliminary psychometric properties and is feasible for assessing childbirth readiness among Indonesian third-trimester pregnant women. Further validation with larger and more diverse samples is required to confirm its factorial structure and generalizability

Abstract

Background: Maternal knowledge during the third trimester is critical for timely care-seeking and preparation for childbirth, yet standardized instruments specific to this phase remain limited. Objective: This study aimed to develop and pilot test the Third-trimester Pregnancy Knowledge Questionnaire (TPKQ). Methods: A methodological pilot study involved four experts and 110 third-trimester pregnant women. Items were derived from literature and organized into four dimensions: danger signs and care-seeking, birth preparation and delivery planning, preventive care before birth, and maternal conditions affecting labor outcomes. Content validity was assessed using Item and Scale Content Validity Indexes, response-based validity via corrected item–total correlations, and internal consistency with Cronbach’s alpha. Results: The TPKQ includes 10 multiple-choice items with dichotomous scoring. All items showed acceptable content validity (I-CVI = 0.75–1.00; S-CVI/Ave = 0.93), adequate discrimination (r = 0.36–0.46), and good reliability (α = 0.81). Dimension scores suggested higher knowledge of danger signs and lower knowledge of preventive care. Conclusion: The TPKQ demonstrates preliminary validity and reliability
