Abstract

We have studied the fabrication of zinc sulphophthalocyanine (ZnPcSn) thin film as prototype of ozone detector. The aim of this research is to find the relation between the electrical resistance of ZnPcSn thin film and the ZnPcSn suspension concentration. The thin film of ZnPcSn was deposited on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) substrate by using spin coating method, then, annealed at temperature of 100 oC. The resistance of ZnPcSn thin film was measured as it was exposed with ozone, synthesized from fresh air, for 60 min continuously. The electrical measurement was conducted twice for each point of data. The result of this research shows that the electrical resistance of ZnPcSn thin film decreases during the ozone exposure, and, it can be concluded that as the concentration of ZnPcSn suspension concentration increase, more amount of ozone can be adsorbed by thin film.

Abstract

Mata pelajaran Fisika merupakan mata pelajaran yang kurang diminati siswa sekolah menengah karena identik dengan rumus-rumus yang sulit. Penggunaan alat peraga pendidikan dapat membantu siswa untuk memahami konsep suatu materi pelajaran dengan lebih baik. Sayangnya, tidak semua sekolah memiliki sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran yang memadai, termasuk ketersediaan alat peraga. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan alat peraga RemLab SP1 dan mengevaluasi dampak penggunaan alat ini dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kelistrikan, khususnya rangkaian listrik. Peserta kegiatan pengabdian adalah guru Fisika dan 23 orang siswa kelas XII MA Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Malang. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa sosialisasi, pemaparan penggunaan alat peraga, dan praktik penggunaan alat RemLab SP1 oleh siswa dan guru. Berdasarkan kuesioner kegiatan yang diisi oleh siswa, diketahui bahwa terjadi perubahan tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kelistrikan yang lebih baik setelah menggunakan alat RemLab SP1. Selain itu, kemampuan siswa dalam mengukur hambatan, tegangan, dan menghitung hambatan pengganti pada rangkaian seri, paralel, dan kombinasi juga menjadi lebih baik. Dari kegiatan ini juga diketahui bahwa penggunaan kombinasi berbagai metode pembelajaran lebih disukai oleh siswa, yang meliputi metode ceramah klasikal, dan demo dengan alat peraga maupun dengan virtual lab.

Abstract

This whale shark tourism is the best tourism in Gorontalo province, this tourism attracts many tourists to visit and enjoy the beach. This study aims to determine the impact of whale shark tourism on the socio-culture of coastal communities. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with data collection through a questionnaire survey. The results of the study showed an increase in the community's economy by 20-30% from 70% of respondents who answered the questionnaire survey. For environmental awareness, the community participated in conservation, as many as 60% of respondents were active in environmental conservation programs after participating in whale shark tourism socialization. Changes in social norms 40% of respondents experienced changes in traditions and social norms due to interaction with tourists and environmental conditions 55% of respondents were aware of an increase in environmental pollution and pressure on natural resources since whale shark tourism was opened. So it can be concluded that there are positive and negative impacts including increasing community economic income, increasing awareness of environmental conservation, changes in local cultural values ​​and pressure on natural resources.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a product in the form of Nearpod-assisted learning media that was developed. The research method uses Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The object of this study is Nearpod-assisted learning media for lithosphere dynamics material for class X IPS and geography subject teachers. The results of this study are that the development of Nearpod-assisted learning media has passed a validity test by product experts who got a percentage value of 84.28%, then a trial by material/content experts who got a percentage of 82.85% and finally by a validator learning expert who got a percentage of 90%. The results of student responses to Nearpod-assisted learning media in geography learning were tested twice, namely limited tests and general tests. The limited test on 15 students and got a result of 90.66%, while the general test on all 28 students got a result of 87.85%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the language politeness employed by the major character in The Pride and Prejudice novel. The method used was descriptive qualitative. The researchers found: first, the data of positive politeness strategies and the data of negative politeness strategies were in line with Brown and Levinson's theory, 10 positive types of politeness strategies.  The mostly used were: paying attention to the speaker’s interests, wants, requirements and commodities. When the speaker truly means “you” or “me”, he can employ the strategy of inclusiveness form to invoke the cooperative presumptions and rectify FTAs, giving or asking for explanations, insisting on reciprocity, goodness, sympathy, understanding, and cooperation. Out of 8 negative types of politeness strategies, the mostly used were: adopting a customarily indirect stance, not taking compliance for granted, expressing pessimism about one’s capacity or willingness, to reduce the burden, as cited from  the FTAs as an illustration of a general principle. Then, three factors influenced the use of polite language, namely: social distance, power, and degree of impositions.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mengevaluasi validitas, kemenarikan, dan keefektifan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) Matematika Berbasis Model Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Siswa  pada materi SPLDV. Metode yang digunakan dalam peneltian adalah pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D, yang terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu pendefinisian ( define ), perancangan ( design ), pengembangan ( develop ), dan penyebaran ( disseminate ). Uji coba pada penelitian ini  dilakukan pada 31 siswa kelas VII G SMP Nuris Jember. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa LKS yang dikembangkan dinilai oleh ahli materi memiliki tingkat kevalidan rata-rata 80%. Penilaian ahli media juga memberikan tingkat validitas dengan persentase rata-rata 84,73%, dan menunjukkan tingkat validitas yang sangat tinggi.  Respon dari siswa terhadap LKS ini mendapatkan persentase rata-rata 83%, yang menunjukkan tingkat kemenarikan baik. Tes hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan persentase ketuntasan pembelajaran sebesar 77,41%, bisa dikatakan tingkat keefektifan  baik. Oleh sebab itu, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa  LKS ini memiliki validitas, daya tarik dan efektifitas yang tinggi untuk diaplikasikan pada proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The phenomenon of sexual violence is increasingly prevalent and constitutes a serious issue in various countries. Sexual violence can affect both women and men, irrespective of age, and may occur in schools, communities, or public spaces. Each year, the incidence of sexual violence among adolescents continues to rise. The escalating cases of sexual harassment among adolescents each year are influenced by several factors, one of which is the inadequate knowledge and attitudes of adolescents. Therefore, it is essential to provide sexual health education to adolescents as a preventive measure against sexual violence. The method employed in this community engagement activity involves interactive participation accompanied by case-based discussions, question-and-answer sessions, as well as discussions conducted in the form of Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and educational sessions. As part of the evaluation process, pre-tests and post-tests related to the educational material will be administered to all participants. The outcomes of this activity indicate that participants have gained benefits, including additional knowledge and understanding regarding sexual violence and its prevention. Thus, aligning with the objective of the activity, it aims to empower the community, especially adolescents, in efforts to prevent sexual violence in their surrounding environment.

Abstract

This study explores the potential of gamification through Educandy in enhancing English language learning outcomes among junior high school students at MTs. Muhammadiyah 13. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) framework using the ADDIE model, this study integrates both quantitative and qualitative analyses to measure effectiveness. Findings reveal a significant increase in student motivation and vocabulary retention, positioning Educandy as a viable tool for technology-integrated education. This study conducted at MTs. Muhammadiyah 13, Solokuro, Lamongan. The research subjects comprised seventh and eight-grade students during the 2024/2025 academic year, there are 40 respondents in these classes. The results indicate that the gamified learning media received high validation scores from experts, confirming its feasibility for classroom use. This study concludes that gamification using Educandy effectively improves English learning outcomes and motivation, especially for having vocabularies improvement. However, challenges such as limited access to technology and the need for teacher training must be addressed to ensure broader implementation. Future research should explore the long-term impact of gamification on learning retention and its application to other English skills, such as speaking and listening.

Abstract

Early childhood literacy and numeracy development is an important foundation in building sustainable learning skills. Teachers have a crucial role in guiding and facilitating children in starting their literacy and numeracy journey. This article presents the results of community service activities in the form of socialization regarding the role of teachers in developing literacy and numeracy at BKB (Bina Keluarga Balita) Kemas Mekar Jaya. The methods used in this service include lectures, discussions, and learning simulations. The results of the service show that after the socialization, teachers and caregivers at BKB better understand the importance of an age-appropriate approach, and are able to apply creative techniques to increase children's interest in literacy and numeracy. Challenges faced include limited facilities and a lack of initial understanding of the importance of numeracy development. In conclusion, this socialization succeeded in increasing teachers' knowledge of their role in developing literacy and numeracy in early childhood and paved the way for further collaboration.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce a spatial approach in disaster mitigation education and environmental conservation based on local wisdom to elementary school students in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. The activity was carried out at SDN 3 Kabila Bone and involved 25 students from grades 1 to 6, selected based on school recommendations and willingness to participate. The method used was classic lectures with the aid of visual media, such as maps of the Tomini Bay area and presentations accompanied by strengthened narratives of local wisdom. The activities took place in an enjoyable learning atmosphere, accompanied by question-and-answer sessions and interactive discussions. The success of the activity was evaluated through direct observation of three cognitive aspects of the students: their ability to recall, understand, and apply the material. The results showed that most students were able to achieve a high level of understanding in all aspects, particularly in applying the knowledge to real-life contexts. The spatial approach made it easier for students to recognize their home region and visually understand potential risks, while local values strengthened students’ connection to their social and cultural environment. This approach is simple, adaptive, and can be implemented in elementary schools in coastal areas with limited access to technology. These findings support the effectiveness of the spatial-cultural approach as a relevant, grounded, and widely replicable model for disaster mitigation education and environmental conservation in other regions with similar characteristics.
