Abstract

This study aims to conceptually analyze the internalization of Qur'anic values in the development of Islamic morals for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the framework of inclusive Islamic education. The research uses a qualitative approach through the library research method by examining scientific sources in the form of national and international books and articles published in 2021–2025 that are relevant to Qur'anic education, Islamic morals, inclusive Islamic education, and characteristics of ADHD children. Data were analyzed through a process of reduction, thematic categorization, and conceptual synthesis with a critical dialogue between literature findings. The results of the study show that the internalization of Qur'anic values in ADHD children faces obstacles in the form of limited attention, impulsivity, and weak self-regulation, so that cognitive-oriented and memorization learning approaches have not been effective in shaping religious behavior. Therefore, the internalization of Qur'anic values needs to be carried out through an inclusive, humanist, and process-oriented approach, such as gradual habituation, example, spiritual assistance, and concrete and contextual religious activities. This research has the value of originality in the development of an integrative conceptual framework that combines Qur'anic values, Islamic moral development, and the characteristics of ADHD child development in inclusive Islamic education, so that it can be a theoretical reference in the development of adaptive and sustainable moral development models.

Abstract

The concept of Smart Society 5.0 developed in Japan emphasizes a human-centered approach through the integration of digital technology, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data to improve social well-being in a sustainable manner. However, this transformation also has serious implications for the world of education, especially related to the potential for dehumanization of learning, the tendency to secularize science, and the inequality of access to education due to the digital divide. This research aims to analyze the strategic position of Muhammadiyah education in facing the dynamics of Smart Society 5.0 and formulate the response of Progressive Islamic Education to these challenges. This research uses a literature study method with a qualitative-descriptive approach through the analysis of scientific literature and official documents of Muhammadiyah published in the range of 2018–2024. The results of the study show that Muhammadiyah responds to the challenges of Society 5.0 through a value-based education paradigm by placing technology under the control of the principle of monotheism, strengthening humanist pedagogy in the relationship between teachers and students, and revitalizing Al-Ma'un theology as the basis of social justice and educational inclusivity. This finding confirms that Muhammadiyah education is not only technologically adapted, but plays an active role as a moral guide so that the transformation of education in the era of Society 5.0 remains oriented towards humanity and social justice.

Abstract

Character education in Indonesia is currently facing serious challenges in the form of administrative formalities and a dichotomy between ritual piety and social reality. The phenomenon of bullying, corruption, and loss of empathy is clear evidence of moral deterioration. This research aims to explore the implementation of Al-Ma'un Theology as the foundation of character education in Muhammadiyah schools in overcoming the moral crisis. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. The results of the study show that Al-Ma'un Theology transforms the understanding of religion from texts to social actions through three main pillars: the cultivation of the character of generosity, the internalization of social piety, and the use of the Ismuba curriculum as an instrument of value. This implementation succeeded in synergizing individual piety with public concern, where students were educated to have empathy for the poor through real philanthropic practices. In the digital era, Al-Ma'un values are relevant as a fortress of ethics and digital moral literacy. This research confirms that Al Ma'un-based character education creates 'organic intellectuals' who are not only personally pious, but also socially progressive, so as to be able to answer global humanitarian challenges and the nation's moral crisis.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology and the demands of 21st-century education have significantly influenced the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), particularly in responding to the characteristics of Generation Alpha. Conventional IRE learning, which largely emphasizes memorization and one-way instruction, is considered less effective in fostering meaningful understanding and character formation. This study aims to conceptualize the deep learning approach as a pedagogical framework for strengthening character education in Islamic Religious Education for Generation Alpha. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods by analyzing relevant academic journals, books, and policy documents related to deep learning, Islamic education, and character development. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify conceptual patterns and theoretical relationships. The findings indicate that the deep learning approach emphasizes critical thinking, reflective learning, and contextual understanding of Islamic values, enabling students to internalize religious teachings more substantively. This approach is highly relevant to the learning characteristics of Generation Alpha and contributes positively to the development of religious awareness, critical thinking, and moral responsibility. However, challenges such as limited teacher competence, curriculum constraints, and inadequate learning facilities remain obstacles to its implementation. Therefore, strengthening teacher capacity and institutional support is essential for the effective application of deep learning in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

The growing use of Artificial Intelligence in education presents both opportunities and ethical challenges for Islamic boarding school (pesantren) education. While Artificial Intelligence may enhance learning efficiency and institutional management, its integration within pesantren must be guided by ethical principles rooted in Islamic values. This article examines the use of Artificial Intelligence in pesantren education through the framework of Islamic ethics, emphasizing trust (amanah), justice (‘adl), responsibility (mas’uliyyah), and ethical conduct (adab) as foundational principles. Using a qualitative conceptual approach, the study analyzes Islamic ethical perspectives as a normative foundation for evaluating and guiding the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in pesantren education. The findings indicate that Artificial Intelligence should not be treated as a neutral or autonomous technology, but as a moral instrument that remains under human authority and ethical accountability. The article also identifies key ethical challenges, including algorithmic bias, the erosion of human responsibility, data privacy concerns, and the tendency toward instrumental approaches to education. Furthermore, the study highlights the pedagogical, institutional, and moral implications of Artificial Intelligence use in pesantren education, particularly in preserving educators’ roles, ensuring ethical governance, and supporting students’ moral and character development. The article concludes that a human-centered and value-oriented approach is essential to ensure that Artificial Intelligence contributes positively to pesantren education without compromising its moral and spiritual mission.

Abstract

In schools and colleges theft of students' property is a chronic problem that influences the formation of students' character and social activity. This is not only to the detriment of the quality of education, but it also undermines confidence between teachers and students and parents. So the purpose of this study is to rise over what induced stealing behavior, developing character students stolen acts and what institutions could do not be a person who likes to steal. The research employ method is a systematic literature review with qualitative approach reviewing and analyzing on character building, criminal behavior, and student theft. Searches for literature were made on international databases using the key words "deviant behavior", "theft", "character" and "students in education". The study found that stealing behavior was shaped by both internal elements (personality, self-esteem) and external phenomenon (peer influence, family factors; social injustice). This is not conducive to building good character in students, in particular on issues of honesty, responsibility and empathy. Schools can help to combat stealing by incorporating a character education program built on high morals of honesty, integrity and personal responsibility. In sum, students' stealing behavior is a personal moral issue as well as an indicator of the defected social environment and education condition waiting to be improved. Theoretical implications of the study reported above suggests that a multi level perspective (family, teacher and school) should be used to inspire an environment that’s conducive for character formation in students also to minimise stealing behavior.

Abstract

The post-digital transformation of education has fundamentally reshaped learning ecosystems, positioning digital technologies as integral to pedagogical practices, identity formation, and value construction. Within this context, the emergence of the metaverse introduces immersive virtual environments that profoundly influence children’s spiritual development. While virtual culture presents risks such as identity fragmentation, diminished reflective capacity, and the erosion of traditional spiritual practices, it also offers opportunities for innovative, experiential, and relational learning. This study employs a qualitative literature review to examine the intersection of post-digital education, children’s spirituality, and the metaverse, with particular attention to the reconstruction of Islamic Religious Education. Drawing on interdisciplinary scholarship in education, digital culture, spirituality, and identity studies, the article synthesizes key challenges and pedagogical possibilities arising from immersive technologies. The findings suggest that a reconstructed approach to religious education—grounded in ethical governance, experiential learning, and cultural sensitivity—can function as a strategic framework for nurturing children’s spirituality within metaverse ecosystems. The study argues that fostering spiritual well-being in post-digital contexts requires not resistance to technological innovation, but intentional pedagogical design that aligns immersive digital environments with transcendent values and holistic human development.

Abstract

The advancement of globalization and digitalization has heightened students’ moral vulnerability through exposure to digital media, peer pressure, and weak self-control, thereby requiring education to strengthen moral resilience as a foundation for character formation, particularly within the intensive and controlled environment of boarding schools. This study aims to examine the strengthening of students’ moral resilience through religious habituation programs at SMP Ahmad Dahlan Sukoharjo as a boarding school. A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed. Data were collected from teachers, boarding school administrators, and students through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed thematically while ensuring data validity through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that religious habituation programs such as congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, short religious sermons, and nightly reflection play a significant role in strengthening students’ moral resilience. Moral resilience is reflected in the strength of faith, self-control, and consistency in practicing moral values amid the challenges of the global and digital era. Support from teacher role modeling, intensive mentoring, environmental management, and educational sanctions fosters the development of stable and sustainable internal moral awareness.
