Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh baik secara simultan maupun parsial antara kompetensi, kenyamanan lingkungan, komunikasi interpersonal dan semangat kerja terhadap kualitas pelayanan administrasi terpadu bidang non perizinan di Kantor Kecamatan Sokaraja Kabupaten Banyumas. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah masyarakat sebagai penerima layanan di Kantor Kecamatan Sokaraja Kabupaten Banyumas dengan 115 responden dianalisis sebagai sampel. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Accidental Sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji asumsi klasik, regresi linier berganda, uji hipotesis, dan deskriptif persentase.Hasil penelitian diperoleh persamaan regresi linier berganda KP = -4,726 + 0,276K + 0,272KL + 0,170KI + 0,437SK + e dengan nilai Fhitung sebesar 94,067 taraf signifikansi 0,000 dan pengaruh secara simultan sebesar 76%. Secara parsial pengaruh kompetensi terhadap kualitas pelayanan sebesar 7,29%, pengaruh kenyamanan lingkungan terhadap kualitas pelayanan sebesar 10,56%, pengaruh komunikasi interpersonal terhadap kualitas pelayanan sebesar 1,56%, dan pengaruh semangat kerja terhadap kualitas pelayanan sebesar 11,15%.

Abstract

PISA (Program for International Students’ Assessment) which focuses o three basic literacy stated that Indonesian students are in low position it is caused by the low ability of Indonesian teachers in writing questions of HOTS. Therefore, the 2013 Curriculum demands the teachers to use authentic assessment concerning about Higher Order Thinking Skills. This study aimed to investigate the implementation of authentic assessment to assess students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills in writing at MAN 2 Tulungagung. This study was qualitative research by using case study research design. Two English teachers (teacher SS and teacher IO) were observed by using interview guide, observation checklist, and document observation checklist. The data were then collected and analyzed based on Miles and Huberman (1994, p. 10). The results of the study revealed that in implementing authentic assessment to assess students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills, these two English teachers did not share rubric and implement self-assessment for the students because of time limitation. To overcome the difficulties, they managed the time effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, they were interested in walking around the students to know the students’ understanding. This study will give insight about the implementation of authentic assessment which focuses on Higher Order Thinking Skills in writing.

Abstract

Pedagogical and professional competence in the ESP teaching and learning process is important because achieve goals of national education, teachers and lecturers are required to be a professional by having those competences. This research aimed to analyze the lecturers’ pedagogical and professional competence in teaching ESP in speaking class in order to explain and analyze the relation of performanceof it towards ESP learners’ performance in speaking skill. Qualitative case study was employed in order to investigate the performances of pedagogical and professional competences of English lecturers in teaching ESP and how is the relation between those performances towards learners’ speaking performances. The findings showed different performances of pedagogical and professional competence in very good and good categories. Then, there was positive relation between performances of pedagogical and professional competence towards ESP learners’ speaking performances since mean values of ESP learners’ speaking performance passed the minimum score of ESP subject. Practically, the result of this study gave benefit for educators and everyone who get involved and interested in the performance of lecturers’ pedagogical competence to make it as knowledge to develop their knowledge in English education, especially in ESP context.

Abstract

Word formation occurs when we want to form new meaning, word class, and grammatical need. Morpheme is defined as the smallest meaningful unit of a language. This study to purpose to explain the errors that Libyan students made in using derivational morphemes, to explain why they make such errors and to find the solutions to overcome these errors. Research design in this study is qualitative research. Data in the form of quotes from documents, field notes, and interviews or excerpts from videotapes, audiotapes, or electronic communications are used to present the findings of the study. Based on the findings and discussion, the conclusion of this research as follows: The errors made by Libyan students in Semarang city in using derivational morphemes is varied from one student to another student, from the omission, addition, misordering and misformation, about the prefix and suffix. The contribution made to this study is by knowing the number of errors that occur in Libyans in English.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of the English achievement test for the twelfth-grade students at SMAN 4 Tebo, Jambi in the academic year 2019/2020. This study was a contenr analyis. The objects of this study were English achievement test items. It consisted of 40 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions. The data collection method was a document analysis checklist. In this study, the researcher analyzed the data from English achievement test for validity aspects such as content validity and construct validity, the degree of reliability, and the implementation of language authenticity criteria. The findings of this study revealed that; (1) the content validity shows 76% valid, and the construct validity shows 60% valid; (2) the reliability shows coefficient 0.281 for multiple-choice items and 0,554 for essay items, and it is reliable; (3) the results of analyzing the authenticity shows that the listening items, reading test and essay writing are authentic. However, each part has some weaknesses. Especially in the reading test, most of the passages use in reading tests failed to represent the world context even though the topics of the passages are rational and based on the real context. Nevertheless, the English teacher who constructed the English achievement test did not mention the sources from which the passages were taken. Next, the samples of the format letter, announcement, and pamphlet look unnatural view from the format and design. Moreover, the English Achievement Test for twelfth-grade students of SMAN 4 Tebo, Jambi has fulfilled the characteristics of validity, reliability, and authenticity as a good test or standardized test.

Abstract

Most of previous researches investigated the use of Letterland method in teaching English. However, only few researches concern with the Letterland book that have many differences with local story books in Indonesia. This research was aimed to find out how the quality of Letterland book refers to listening, reading, and vocabulary skills, language content (topic, subject content and social and culture values) and the effectiveness of Letterland book. Content analysis method was applied in this research. There were two instruments which are used in this reseach, they are : document and interview that involved teachers in Star Kiddy Preschool and Learning Center. This research used Cunningsworth theory as guidance to analyse the quality of Letterland book. The findings showed that listening, reading, vocabulary skills in Letterland book are categorized as good book. The language contents of Letterland book is qualified as good EFL book criteria. Teachers in Star Kiddy Preschool Star Kiddy Preschool and Learning Center stated that Letterland book is effective to learn English for children. However, there were problems in the implementation of Letterland book such as: limited time, new teachers that had not expert on Letterland book. Therefore, this research was expected to be the an overview of teachers that learnt English by using Letterland book for children.

Abstract

This study was intended to reveal the information on the influence of the Ciacianese Buton Dialect (CBD) towards the students’ pronunciation of English vowels, diphthongs, consonants, and consonant clusters. The study also explained the effort of the teacher in improving the students’ pronunciation. The subjects of this study were eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Pasarwajo, Buton regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative study toward 30 students of grade XI at SMAN 2 Pasarwajo. This study uses several methods in obtaining the data. They are questionnaires, students’ recordings, interviews, and observation. The results of the study describe that the Ciacianese dialect influences the students’ pronunciation of English sounds positively and negatively. Ciacianese dialect gives positive transfer to sounds /e/, /ʊ/, /ɔ/, /ɔ:/, and /ɪ of vowels; sounds /oʊ/, /ɔɪ/, aʊ/, /ɪə/, /ɛə/, /aɪ/, and /eɪ/ of diphthongs; sounds /b/, /d/, /f/, /g/, /h/, /k/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /p/, /ŋ/, /r/, /ʤ/, /s/, /t/, /w/, /j/ and /z/ of consonants; and sounds /nd/, /mp/, /tr/ and /str/ of consonant clusters. Furthermore, Ciacianese dialect gives negative transfer to sounds /i:/, /ɑ:/, /u:/ æ/, /ʌ/ /ə/ and /æ/ of English vowels; sound /ʊə/ of diphthong; and sounds /ʒ/, /v/, /ð/, /θ/, /ʧ/, and /ʃ/ of English consonants. Lastly, since most of the mispronunciation is caused by the lack of pronunciation practice, the teacher should consider providing more spaces for the students to practice the pronunciation. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of professional competence on the performance of economic teachers, professional competence on the performance of economic teachers through work motivation, work environment on teacher economic performance, work environment on teacher economic performance through work motivation, and work motivation on teacher economic performance. Analytical techniques used descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results showed that there is a positive and significant influence of professional competence on teacher economic performance of 17.8%. Professional competence on teacher economy performance through work motivation is 28%. Working environment on teacher economics performance amounted to 41.2%. Work environment on teacher economy performance through work motivation of 77.7%. Motivation of work on teacher economic performance equal to 48,2%. The conclusion of this study is the teacher performance is getting better when the professional competence of a teacher is better, the total value is greater than the direct influence of professional competence to the economic teachers performance, the better working environment makes the better teacher economic performance, the total value is greater than the direct influence of the work environment to the economic teacher performance, and the more economic teachers have a high work motivation, the better their performance.

Abstract

The rapid advance of global economy and the increasing diversity financial product and service types force every individuals to have a good financial literacy in order to achieve prosperous live. The purpose of this study is to identify student engagement contributions as a form of learning process for the development of financial literacy. Academic challenges, active learning, student-staff interaction, enriching education experiences, and supportive learning environments are used to measure student engagement in financial learning (SEFL). While financial knowledge, financial attitudes and financial behavior are used to measure financial literacy (FL). This study uses quantitative assessors. The population is 241 students while the sample size is 150 students. The number of samples is determined by using the Slovin formula, while the sampling technique used is proportional random sampling. The data collection techniques used are tests and questionnaires. While the data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, canonical correlation and regression. The results of the Pearson correlation analysis show that all SEFL factors possitive correlate with FL factors. Then the results of canonical correlation analysis show that the covariate of SEFL factors has a correlation with the canonical variable (FL). Furthermore, the results of the regression test (t-test) show that most of the SEFL factors have a significant contribution in developing students’ financial literacy.

Abstract

KUD (Village Cooperative Unit) becomes the main pillar of rural community’s economy which is a forum for the development of various rural community activities organized by and for the community itself. Therefore, support from various parties is needed to improve the progress of the KUD especially for its members to always be loyal to each of its business unit. The objective of the study is to analyze and identify the loyalty of members of the Rukun Tani Village Cooperative Unit who were influenced by the quality of service through satisfaction, trust and corporate image. The research method used is quantitative approach. The study population is 365 members and the sample is 191 members. The sampling technique used is proportional sampling. While the data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results of path analysis showed that service quality has a direct effect on satisfaction, trust, corporate image, and loyalty. The service quality influences loyalty indirectly through satisfaction. The quality of service influences loyalty indirectly through trust. The quality of service influences loyalty indirectly through corporate image.
