Abstract

Background: Stunted growth in height, caused by chronic malnutrition, is most prevalent among children in Indonesia, with the highest rates observed in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. The balance of macronutrients and micronutrients plays a crucial role in regulating IGF-1, which is essential for height growth. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the differences in macronutrient and micronutrient levels, as well as IGF-1, between stunted and normal children, and to examine their impact on the incidence of stunting. Methods: The research was conducted in Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency, from October to December 2024. This case-control study involved 80 respondents, comprising 40 children in the stunted group and 40 in the normal group. Nutritional intake was assessed using a 24-hour food recall and analyzed with the Nutrisurvey 2007 application, with results compared to the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA). IGF-1 levels were measured from serum using the ELISA test. Univariate statistical tests and the Mann-Whitney U test were used to analyze the differences in macro and micronutrient as well as IGF-1 between the two groups and their impact on the incidence of stunting. Results: There were significant differences in the intake of macronutrients, including carbohydrates, protein, and fat (p-value<0.001); micronutrients, including vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, magnesium, iron, zinc, and phosphorus (p-value<0.001), as well as vitamin C (p-value=0.018) and calcium (p-value=0.007); and in IGF-1 levels (p-value=0.030) between stunted and normal children. Children aged 24-60 months had a stunting risk of 38.07 and 25.38 when deficient in vitamin B1 and vitamin B6, respectively. Conclusions: To combat and prevent stunting, it is crucial to monitor micronutrient intake, particularly vitamins B1 and B6.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine and analyze the responsibility of Notaries for deeds made after the end of their term of office and to determine and analyze the legal protection for Notaries for deeds made after the end of their term of office. This research method includes normative juridical research with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. Data collection techniques are carried out by literature studies on legal materials, both primary legal materials, secondary legal materials and tertiary legal materials including non-legal materials. The analysis method in this research uses two interpretations which include systematic interpretation and grammatical interpretation. The results of this study indicate that although Defendant II has retired as a Notary, responsibility for the deeds he made, such as Deeds Number 23 and 24, remains attached based on Article 65 of the UUJN. Legal protection for retired Notaries is realized through preventive and repressive mechanisms, including the principle of presumption of legality, limitation of responsibility on formal and procedural aspects, and the right to defend himself in court. Thus, the legal system provides a balance between enforcing the professional responsibilities of Notaries and protecting their rights, so that legal certainty, justice and benefits for Notaries and interested parties remain guaranteed.

Abstract

Background: Bone regeneration is a process to repair bone structure but has limited reparative capacity because the bone resorption process occurs in line with the regeneration process. Bone graft application is required to minimize resorption and guide bone regeneration, including in alveolar bone after tooth extraction. Snakehead fish scales are known to contain hydroxyapatite components as an alternative bone graft material to increase fibroblasts in tooth sockets. Purpose: To determine the effect of sneakhead fish scale hydroxyapatite as an alternative bone graft material on the number of Wistar rat alveolar bone fibroblasts after tooth extraction. Methods: This study was in vivo laboratory experimental study, single blind, with a post test only control group design. The samples used were Wistar rat which were divided into 4 groups after tooth extraction, the treatment group (HAp) was given hydroxyapatite from snakehead fish scales for 7 and 14 days and the control group was given distilled water for 7 and 14 days. Euthanasia of rat was carried out on days 7 and 14, then the jaw was cut off and histopatological preparations were made. The number of fibroblast was counted and analyzed statistically. Results: The Independent T-test showed that the number of fibroblasts was higher in the treatment group than control (p-value>0,05). Conclusion: Hydroxyapatite from snakehead fish scales can significantly increase the number of fibroblasts in rat socket after tooth extraction. Keywords: bone regeneration, fibroblast, snakehead fish scale, tooth extraction, wistar rat

Abstract

This study examines how students experience and interpret Polya’s problem-solving stages while working on geometry tasks in an electronic Problem-Based Learning (e-PBL) environment implemented through a customized Moodle based learning management system. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected from written problem-solving artefacts, semi-structured interviews, and digital traces generated during e-PBL activities. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis following Braun and Clarke, combining deductive coding based on Polya’s four stages with inductive coding to capture emerging reasoning patterns. The findings indicate that problem-solving is enacted as a dynamic and recursive process rather than a linear sequence. Understanding and planning involve repeated reinterpretation of multimodal representations, while execution is characterized by representational shifts that support conceptual clarity. Reflective prompts in e-PBL facilitate error detection and conceptual consolidation, highlighting the importance of the evaluative stage.

Abstract

Pregnancy in the third trimester has the potential to cause physical and psychological changes that cause anxiety, if not treated, will have an impact on the health of the mother and fetus. Family support plays an important role in helping mothers adapt. Based on a preliminary study at the Mulyorejo Health Center, 10 out of 12 (83.33%) pregnant women still experience anxiety before childbirth, so this study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and pregnancy anxiety in the third trimester at the Mulyorejo Health Center. This type of study was quantitative observational analysis with a cross sectional method on 32 respondents. The instruments used were the Family Support Pregnancy Questionnaire modification questionnaire and the PRAQ-R2 modified questionnaire, with Spearman Rho analysis. The results showed that most of the respondents had family support both (93.75%) and moderate anxiety (50.00%), it was found that information support was the highest aspect and emotional support was the lowest aspect, as well as the highest anxiety related to contractions and childbirth. The results of the Spearman correlation test showed no significant association between family support and pregnancy anxiety (p = 0.453 and r = 0.137), so anxiety was also affected by other factors outside of family support. Abstract

Abstract

Background: Postpartum hemorrhage, defined as blood loss exceeding 500 ml after delivery, is a leading cause of maternal mortality in Indonesia. This condition can lead to serious consequences, including anemia, shock, and even death if not treated promptly and appropriately. Prevention efforts include educating pregnant women about early detection and preventive measures. One intervention is the implementation of pregnancy classes plus an Early Warning System (EWS) as a learning tool to improve mothers' self-efficacy and actions in preventing postpartum hemorrhage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of pregnancy classes plus an early warning system on actions and self-efficacy in preventing postpartum hemorrhage. Subjects and Methods: This study used a True Experiment with a Pretest-Posttest with Control Group Design. The study location was the Gayamsari Community Health Center in Semarang City. Data collection was conducted from June to July 2025. The intervention group consisted of two groups: the intervention group, which received the pregnancy class with an Early Warning System (EWS), and the control group, which received a standard pregnancy class. The dependent variables studied were women's postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices and self-efficacy, while the independent variable was the early warning system (EWS) class. The analysis technique used was the Wilcoxon test. Results: Women in the intervention group reported higher postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices after the EWS class (median = 20; min-max = 13-20) compared to before the intervention (median = 10; min-max = 3-14) and was statistically significant (p <0.001). Women in the intervention group reported higher postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices after the EWS class (median = 52; min-max = 40-60) compared to before the intervention (median = 25; min-max = 20-35) and was statistically significant (p <0.001). Conclusion: The EWS class and early warning system have been shown to be effective in increasing postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices and efficacy, making them a safe and practical alternative for promotive and preventive interventions.

Abstract

The New Criminal Code (KUHP Baru), enacted on December 6, 2022, and effective as of January 2, 2026, represents a significant transformation in Indonesia's criminal justice system. Its implementation not only shifts the approach to criminal law from retributive to restorative, but also opens avenues for the integration of legal review by the Constitutional Court (MK) to ensure the harmonization of national criminal norms. This research aims to analyze the mechanisms of MK's integration of reviewing laws and Regional Regulations (Perda) against the New Criminal Code, and its implications for Article 2 of the New Criminal Code regarding living law and formal legality. Furthermore, this study aims to identify and evaluate the challenges of harmonizing national criminal norms in MK's decisions concerning specific cases such as demonstrations, embezzlement, and insult to state institutions after the implementation of the New Criminal Code since 2026. The research method employed is a normative legal approach with secondary data types, including laws and regulations, MK decisions, and related legal literature. The findings indicate that MK plays a crucial role in maintaining the consistency of national criminal law through the constitutional review of the New Criminal Code and its derivatives. However, challenges in harmonizing national criminal norms persist, particularly in the context of Article 2 of the New Criminal Code which recognizes living law and formal legality, as well as in the regulation of specific cases such as demonstrations, embezzlement, and insult to state institutions. This study recommends better coordination among MK, legislative, and executive bodies to avoid normative conflicts and ensure the fair and effective application of criminal law.
