Abstract

Internal dimensions including motivation, self-efficacy, emotion, interest, and metacognition are critical psychological factors influencing elementary students' mathematics learning engagement. This bibliometric study examines research trends in internal dimensions from 2019 to 2025 using text mining and co-occurrence analysis. Data comprising 995 peer-reviewed articles were obtained from Google Scholar and analyzed using VOSviewer. Results identified 76 key terms forming 5 thematic clusters: (1) technology-mediated internal factors, (2) self-efficacy and achievement, (3) teacher as facilitator of internal development, (4) developmental and relational factors, and (5) motivation as core dimension. The network demonstrated high interconnection (995 links, total link strength 1,999), with self-efficacy emerging as the most researched construct. Temporal analysis revealed a paradigm shift from studying isolated psychological factors (2019-2020) toward integrated models examining multiple internal dimensions within technology-enriched learning contexts (2023-2024). Research gaps exist in developmental trajectories of internal factors across elementary grades and in mechanisms linking teacher practices to students' internal engagement. Practical implications emphasize holistic interventions simultaneously addressing motivation, self-efficacy, and mathematics anxiety through developmentally appropriate, technology-enhanced strategies. This study contributes comprehensive mapping of internal dimensions literature and identifies priorities for future research

Abstract

Physical activity and sleep quality are important factors that influence students' health and academic performance. Final-year students often face academic demands that may affect both aspects. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between physical activity level and sleep quality among final-year students of the Sport Science Study Program, Faculty of Sport Science, Universitas Negeri Semarang. This research employed a quantitative cross-sectional design involving 40 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Physical activity was measured using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), while sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that 50% of respondents had high physical activity levels, 32.5% had moderate levels, and 17.5% had low levels. The majority of respondents experienced poor sleep quality (95%). The Spearman Rank test revealed a correlation coefficient of ρ = 0.044 with a significance value of p = 0.786 (p > 0.05). These findings indicate that there is no significant relationship between physical activity level and sleep quality among final-year students of the Sport Science Study Program. Sleep quality is likely influenced by factors other than physical activity.

Abstract

This study is to evaluate the effects of an aerodumbbell training intervention on weight reduction and body fat percentage in individuals with a normal Body Mass Index (BMI). This quasi-experimental study had 10 people with a normal BMI, allocated into a treatment group (n=5) and a control group (n=5). The treatment group participated in a 4-week aerodumbbell workout regimen at an intensity of 60-70% of maximal heart rate, with a frequency of three sessions per week, each lasting 60 minutes. Data from pretests and posttests, encompassing body weight (BW), body fat mass (BFM), and skeletal muscle mass (SMM), were subjected to descriptive and comparative statistical analyses. The research findings indicate that the treatment group exhibited a notable reduction in average body weight of 2.28 kg (p<0.05) and a decrease in average body fat mass of 3.94 kg (p<0.05), alongside an increase in average muscle mass of 1.66 kg (p<0.05). In contrast, the control group exhibited no notable alterations in any of the assessed characteristics. This study concludes that aerodumbbell exercise effectively reduces weight and body fat percentage while enhancing muscle mass in individuals with a normal BMI.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a 15-week structured training program combining strength and aerobic exercises with progressive overload principles on body fat percentage and muscle mass in young athletes participating in Indonesia's National Sports Grand Design (DBON). Using a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measurements, 19 athletes aged 13–16 from four sports disciplines at Universitas Negeri Semarang were assessed via InBody 270. Results indicated no significant changes in muscle mass (male: 28.5 ± 2.7 kg to 29.0 ± 2.4 kg, p>0.05; female: 24.7 ± 4.0 kg to 24.6 ± 3.9 kg, p>0.05) or body fat percentage (male: 7.8 ± 5.9 kg; female: 11.6 ± 3.8 kg, p>0.05). A weak positive correlation was found between BMI and fat/muscle mass (rho = 0.124, p = 0.612). The findings suggest that the 15-week program was insufficient to induce significant body composition changes, highlighting the need for longer intervention periods, individualized training adjustments, and integrated nutritional strategies to optimize outcomes for young athletes.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of plyometric and Tabata training on leg power and anaerobic endurance in junior volleyball athletes from the Panji Laras Club, taking into account differences in leg length. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest structure was used, involving four groups: Plyometric A (long legs), Plyometric B (short legs), Tabata A (long legs), and Tabata B (short legs), each consisting of four athletes. Leg power was assessed using the vertical jump test, while anaerobic endurance was measured through the fatigue index. Both training programs were applied over the intervention period. The results showed that all groups experienced an increase in leg power, with improvements ranging from +2.25 to +3.50, and a decrease in fatigue index values, indicating better anaerobic endurance. Repeated-measures ANOVA revealed a significant main effect of time for both leg power (p < 0.001) and anaerobic endurance (p < 0.001), while no significant interaction effects were found between training type and leg length. These findings indicate that both plyometric and Tabata training effectively improved performance outcomes, and leg-length differences did not significantly influence adaptation. In conclusion, plyometric and Tabata training can be used as alternative methods to enhance leg power and anaerobic endurance in junior volleyball athletes.

Abstract

Objective: This systematic literature review aims to analyze research trends related to the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Differentiated Instruction (DI) in elementary mathematics education, particularly in relation to students’ problem-solving abilities. Method: The review followed the PRISMA protocol by systematically searching the Scopus database. From 92 identified records, 24 empirical studies published between 2021 and 2024 met the inclusion criteria. The selected studies were analyzed based on research design, instructional approach, and problem-solving focus.. Results: The findings indicate that both PBL and DI independently contribute positively to students’ mathematical problem-solving skills, including reasoning, strategy development, and higher-order thinking. However, most studies examined PBL and DI separately, while only a limited number explicitly integrated both approaches within a single instructional framework. Novelty: This review highlights a significant research gap regarding the explicit integration of PBL and DI in elementary mathematics learning, emphasizing the need for instructional models that simultaneously address problem-centered learning and learner diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Unplugged Coding-based learning in developing students’ Computational Thinking (CT) skills at the elementary school level. The research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the PRISMA protocol by reviewing 13 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025 from various academic databases such as Google Scholar, SINTA, DOAJ, and ResearchGate. The review explores patterns of Unplugged Coding implementation across different learning contexts and its impact on students’ algorithmic, logical, and problem-solving abilities. The results indicate that Unplugged Coding learning is consistently effective in enhancing students’ computational thinking, creativity, collaboration, and learning motivation. Activities without computers—such as logic games, algorithm simulations, and contextual puzzles—help students grasp CT concepts concretely and enjoyably. Moreover, this approach aligns with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum by promoting active learning. Therefore, Unplugged Coding serves as an innovative and inclusive learning strategy to improve the quality of elementary education, particularly in schools with limited technological access.
