Abstract

This study delves into the concept of the ideal Islamic society, often known as "Khair Ummah," aimed at preserving religious solidarity among the global Muslim community. It employs a qualitative research approach, analyzing Islamic teachings and literature, including Surah Al-Hashr (59:7), to emphasize the core principles of social justice, equitable wealth distribution, education, and Islamic brotherhood. The findings underscore that an ideal Islamic society prioritizes justice, equality, and the well-being of its members and stresses harmonious relationships among Muslims and tolerance for different faiths, fostering a just, prosperous, and mutually supportive society. To actualize this vision, policymakers and community leaders should implement measures supporting social justice, fair wealth distribution, and education while promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding to enhance tolerance and inclusivity.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the potential and impact of integrating the science of Islamic propagation (Ilmu Dakwah) within the context of Islamic Community Development (Pengembangan Masyarakat Islam - PMI) in a Community Development approach. It explores the fundamental concepts of Ilmu Dakwah PMI and Community Development and investigates how their integration can bring about positive change within Muslim communities. The study identifies several benefits, including increased community participation, sustainable development, and enhanced religious understanding, but also highlights challenges such as resistance to change, conflicting interpretations of religion, and logistical aspects in implementation. Additionally, it underscores the significance of a deep understanding of social and cultural contexts, as well as the role of information technology, especially social media, in the success of this integration. This research demonstrates how the integration of Ilmu Dakwah PMI with Community Development combines Islamic values, propagation methods, and community development principles to enhance the quality of life for Muslim communities. The advantages of this integration include increased community participation, sustainable development, and a better understanding of religion. However, challenges such as resistance to change, conflicting interpretations of religion, and logistical aspects must be addressed. A deep understanding of local culture and the effective use of information technology, particularly social media, also play pivotal roles in the success of this integration.

Abstract

This research explores the axiological aspects of Islamic Da'wah and its role in supporting social workers in the context of Islamic Community Development (PMI). Utilizing qualitative methods and interviews, the study uncovers how Islamic Da'wah's values and ethics form a robust moral foundation for PMI's social work. Core values like justice, compassion, wisdom, and integrity guide PMI's approach, addressing social inequalities, fostering a caring community through empathy, making wise decisions, and upholding ethical standards. This axiological framework empowers PMI to engage in high-integrity social work, positively impacting the Muslim community and fostering sustainable change. Additionally, social work principles such as acceptance, communication, individualization, participation, confidentiality, and self-awareness underpin their practices. Integrating religion and spirituality into social work is essential, with Islam emphasizing collective and individual responsibilities for communal welfare. Muslim social workers apply Islamic concepts like prayer, almsgiving, fasting, and pilgrimage in their work, creating an effective and ethical framework. Within the Muslim context, integrating fundamental Islamic concepts into social work is vital. The principle of tawhid emphasizes respecting all humans as creations of Allah, regardless of background. Zakat highlights the need to assist the poor equitably, fasting promotes empathy, and the pilgrimage underscores global solidarity. By applying these principles, Muslim social workers offer holistic services grounded in Islamic values, enhancing individuals' and communities' quality of life within the broader Muslim society.

Abstract

This study underscores the pivotal role of applied maritime education in driving the transformation of logistics through the Automatic Identification System (AIS) in Islamic countries. By integrating AIS technology, which enables real-time vessel tracking and monitoring, this research employs a multifaceted approach encompassing literature review, surveys, data analysis, and case studies to assess the current state of maritime education and AIS implementation. The findings emphasize the significance of specialized AIS curricula within maritime education programs and the importance of modern training facilities for fostering practical expertise in AIS technology and logistics management. Collaborative efforts among Islamic countries in curriculum development and facility investments are identified as essential to enhance maritime education's role in AIS transformation. This regional cooperation can facilitate knowledge sharing, best practices, and research, ultimately elevating maritime education standards and global competitiveness while nurturing a more skilled maritime workforce. In conclusion, regional cooperation and investment in modern training facilities are key to unlocking the potential of maritime education, promoting safer and more efficient maritime operations, and driving economic growth and security in Islamic countries.

Abstract

This research investigates the unique identity within the Indonesian Islamic Community, specifically focusing on Washotiyah Islam (moderate Islam) and Progressive Islam. Utilizing a descriptive approach and literature analysis, it delves into their roles in shaping the community's distinct character. Data is drawn from document studies, historical research, and extensive literature analysis. The findings reveal that both Washotiyah Islam and Progressive Islam have had a positive impact on Indonesian society and civilization. Washotiyah Islam emphasizes moderation, tolerance, and harmony in religious practices, contributing to a balance between religious values and local culture, as well as fostering cooperation and dialogue, crucial for social cohesion. Progressive Islam, as embraced by Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, underscores da'wah's role in societal improvement, involving ulama in spiritual development and security forces in maintaining order. These concepts hold the potential for progress in social, economic, and cultural aspects, promoting holistic human development and creating an inclusive, just society. Grounded in principles of consultation, equality, justice, and tolerance, this identity paves the way for a more progressive and harmonious Indonesian society while upholding deep moral and spiritual values, making a substantial contribution to overall societal progress and harmony. Ultimately, the Indonesian Islamic Community's identity, encompassing Washotiyah Islam and Progressive Islam, represents a polite and progressive approach to the Islamic faith, characterizing Islam in the archipelago.

Abstract

This research focuses on the analysis of the relationship between efforts to empower the Islamic community (PMI) and the concept of the Ummah of Medina in the context of Islamic history. This study employs a historical approach and literature analysis to investigate how the concept of the Ummah of Medina has influenced the empowerment efforts of PMI throughout Islamic history and how this relationship has evolved over time. The results of the research indicate that in the context of the Charter of Medina, the concept of the ummah plays a central role as the foundation for cooperation and agreements among various groups and communities in Medina at that time. The Charter emphasizes that the believers and Muslims are one united ummah, regardless of their ethnicity or background. This reflects the principles of unity and solidarity in Islam.
