Abstract

The empowerment of religious moderation based on local wisdom in Pujodadi Village, Negeri Katon District, Pesawaran Regency, is an important effort to strengthen religious harmony by utilizing traditions maintained for generations by the local community. There is a value of local wisdom in Lampung culture called the Pill Pesenggiri culture, which means upholding the values of dignity, dignity, and self-esteem in running the social system. The value of piil pesenggiri consists of four value terms: Juluk Adok, Nemui Nyimah, Sakai Sambayan, and Nengah Nyappur. The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach is applied by identifying and utilizing community assets such as religious leaders, traditional leaders, places of worship, and local values to hold joint activities, develop tolerance education programs, and provide training to community leaders. Collaboration between various community groups, religions, cultures, governments, and related stakeholders is very important in this process. The main purpose of this service is to increase religious tolerance and harmony, strengthen community capacity in resolving conflicts, increase community participation, and preserve local wisdom as the foundation for harmony and tolerance between religious communities. With this approach, it is hoped that a more tolerant and harmonious society can be created in carrying out religious life, as well as ensuring the sustainability of religious moderation programs that have a positive impact on the local community.

Abstract

Unhygienic tableware has the potential to become a medium for the transmission of foodborne diseases, especially due to bacterial contamination. According to Ministry of Health Regulation No. 14 of 2021, the bacterial count on dining utensils must not exceed 1.1 CFU/cm². This study aims to analyze the relationship between washing and storage methods of dining utensils and bacterial counts at food handling facilities (FHFs) in the working area of the Saigon Public Health Center (PHC), Pontianak Timur District. The study was conducted as an observational cross-sectional study involving 30 FHP selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through observation using a checklist and bacterial counts were measured using bacteriological testing with the Total Plate Count (TPC) method. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test at a 95% significance level. The results showed that 53% of respondents had good washing practices, while 47% had poor practices; similarly, 50% of respondents had good storage practices, and 50% had poor practices. Bacterial counts on dining utensils were high in 50% of samples and low in 50%. Statistical tests showed no association between washing practices and bacterial counts (p = 0.066), but there was a significant association between storage practices and bacterial counts (p = 0.027). These findings indicate that improper storage practices of dining utensils can increase the risk of microbiological contamination. It is recommended that TPP managers improve the hygiene of dining utensils, and that health departments strengthen routine supervision and education to prevent foodborne illnesses. These findings highlight the importance of systematic interventions in the form of technical training and regular guidance for food managers on standard procedures for hygienic storage of dining utensils. This includes proper arrangement of utensils (e.g., plates upside down), use of closed rust-proof racks, and maintenance of drawers and storage areas to prevent them from becoming breeding grounds for cockroaches, rats, or other disease vectors. Additionally, health departments should strengthen regular monitoring and develop risk-based education programs tailored to on-site resource capacities. With the implementation of these measures, it is hoped that the incidence of foodborne illnesses can be significantly reduced, alongside increased awareness and compliance with hygiene and sanitation principles in food management environments. Keywords: Bacterial Count, Dining Utensils, Washing Methods, Storage Methods.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems play an important role in maintaining the coastal environment and are useful as ecotourism, such as in Bale Mangrove Ecotourism, East Lombok. Although integrating conservation and education through ecotourism, its implementation is still not optimal due to the limited educational facilities that support mangrove learning. This community service aims to increase the potential of Bale Mangrove Ecotourism as a sustainable education center. Activities include mangrove identification, nursery, monitoring and planting. The results of the service showed that there were six mangrove species, such as Rhizophora mucronata and Avicennia marina which became educational information packaged in the form of mangrove mading, the planting of new mangrove seedlings of Rhizophora sp. as many as 100 seedlings and the addition of 20 new types of mangrove seedlings, namely Sonneratia sp., monitoring which is carried out once a month which shows that some of the mangroves that have been planted show quite good growth marked by supporting roots that begin to grow. It is hoped that this activity will continue to be carried out and implemented to become one of the attractions of education for visitors who visit.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in instilling religious values in students at Yukartuni Junior High School (SMPLB) in Makassar City. This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study approach that prioritises an in-depth understanding of the practice of religious education in students with special needs. Data were obtained through direct observation, interviews with teachers and principals, and learning documentation. The research findings show three main points related to the implementation of religious education at SMPLB Yukartuni. Firstly, the learning strategies applied use an experiential approach and adaptive technology that is effective in attracting students' interest. The personal approach taken by teachers in teaching also proved successful in building closer relationships with students, thus facilitating the understanding of Islamic values. Secondly, the main challenge in implementing PAI is the limited infrastructure and facilities as well as the lack of specialised competence possessed by teachers in handling learners with special needs. This affects the quality of learning and its impact on students' religious understanding. Thirdly, although the impact of Islamic religious education is seen in the increased moral awareness and religiosity of learners, there are still variations in religious understanding among learners with diverse needs, indicating the need for further adjustments in learning methods. This study recommends increased training for teachers, provision of more adequate facilities, and strengthening collaboration between schools, families and communities to optimise the implementation of Islamic religious education in special schools.
