Abstract

Abstract This study aimed at identifying in: (1) planning the classroom management for the SSN classes and (2) managing the classroom, in the teaching and learning process of science in SSN schools.This is a evaluatif study which focuses on the classroom management of science learning in SSN junior high schools. The subjects of the research are SSN Junior High Schools of Pati Regency which focuses on the classroom management of science learning. There are six SSN schools, namely  SMP N 2 Pati, SMP N 4 Pati,  SMP N 1 Wedarijaksa, SMP N 1 Trangkil, SMP N 1 Tlogowungu, and SMP N 1 Gabus. The data were gained through observation, interview, questionnaire, and document study.The result shows that : the classroom management planning  in SSN Junior High Schools in the science learning at Pati Regency are categorizes good: the science teacher  SSN Junior High School the use of ICT in science learning was not taken into account, teaching materials (handouts, worksheets, modules and ICT-based teaching material) were not developed yet, the assessment planning did not complete. Process in the science learning at SNN junior High School are as categirizes good.  Keywords: Classroom Management, SSN, Science Learning. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi perencanaan pengelolaan kelas di SMP SSN dalam pembelajaran sains; (2) mengidentifikasi proses pengelolaan kelas di SMP SSN dalam pembelajaran sains. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluatif, yang memfokuskan pada kualitas pengelolaan kelas pembelajaran sains pada SMP SSN. Subjek penelitian ini SMP SSN Kabupaten Pati yang difokuskan pada perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pengelolaan kelas pembelajaran sains.Data penelitian diperoleh melalui: observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh bersifat subjektif, berupa hasil observasi, wawancara, dan angket.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: perencanaan pengelolaan kelas di SMP SSN dalam pembelajaran sains berkategori baik. Guru sains di SMP Kategori SSN belum sepenuhnya mempertimbangkan penerapan TIK dalam pembelajaran IPA,belum mengembangkan bahan ajar sendiri dalam berbagai bentuk, baik handout, LKS, modul dan bahan ajar yang lain, serta belum merencanakan penilaian dengan lengkap, baru menuliskan teknik penilaian belum menyertakan instrumen penilaian dan rubrik penilaian.Pelaksanaan pengelolaan kelas di SMP SSN dalam pembelajaran sains berkategori baik. Guru sains di SMP Kategori SSN belum sepenuhnya menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis CTL, serta pembelajaran sains yang dilakukan belum sepenuhnya memanfaatkan media ICT.Guru sains di SMP Kategori SSN belum sepenuhnya menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis CTL, serta pembelajaran sains yang dilakukan belum sepenuhnya memanfaatkan media ICT. Kata Kunci: Pengelolaan Kelas, SSN, Pembelajaran Sains.

Abstract

This research aims to find the effectiveness of Android-assisted optical devices learning to improve students’ conceptual understanding. This research was a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest design. This research involved 60 second year high school students in West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan. The instrument for the data collection was comprehension questions about conceptual understanding on optical devices tested through pretest and posttest. The conceptual understanding data was analyzed using anava mix design. The result shows that learning optical devices using an android application is more effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding compared to conventional learning which is not using an android application

Abstract

This study is aimed at determining the effectiveness of the use of a science textbook integrated with the local potentials of bakpia in improving the critical thinking and communication skills of the junior high school students. The study was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group research design. The experiment and control groups were taken by cluster random sampling by considering the location of the school, which is within proximity of the local potentials in question. The study was conducted in the 7th grade, at one of the junior high schools in Yogyakarta, both for the experiment and control classes. The research instruments were an open-reasoned multiple-choice test and observation sheets to obtain data on students’ critical thinking skills and communication skills. Data analysis was done by the Manova difference test assisted by the SPSS 2.0 computer program with a significance value lower than 0.05. Results showed that the value of the partial Eta squared from the Manova test was 0.981, indicating that the effectiveness of the science textbook integrated with the bakpia local potentials to improve students’ critical thinking and communication skills was in the “high” category. The test of between subject effects of the Manova test showed a significant value of students’ critical thinking and communication skills of less than 0.05. Therefore, it can be said that the science textbook was effective in increasing students’ critical thinking and communication skills, simultaneously. A limitation to the study can be in the fact that the study is not conducted directly in the bakpia factory and that it involves only 60 subjects for both the experiment and control groups. The integrated textbook of bakpia local potentials can be used as a reference for future researchers with other local potentials. The local potential integrated book can also become an alternative-learning mode, e.g.: based on STEM, with materials suitable for local potentials in other regions.

Abstract

Curriculum 2013 emphasizes education that can build an independent attitude in students. This study aimed to measure the level of student learning independence by implementing e-learning padlets assisted by PhET Simulation. The method used is descriptive quantitative where the sample involved is 35 people who are determined by cluster random sampling technique. The data collection technique used a learning independence questionnaire. Based on descriptive quantitative data analysis techniques, the results of research on the learning independence profile of students are based on five indicators, namely the responsible indicator of 76% in the high category, 63% initiative in the medium category, 65% confidence in the medium category, motivation 79% in the middle category. high category, and discipline of 86% in the very high category. The results of this study can be used as a basis for developing science learning media that is integrated with ICT to facilitate student learning independence.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop quality of the 3D Pageflip Professional-based e-module on energy concepts which has good quality and suitable for use in learning for  junior high school grade 7. This type of research is a development that refers to the 4D development model with stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research subjects were grade 7 students in one of the junior high schools in Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data analysis uses qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the 3D Pageflip Professional-based e-module on energy concepts that was developed had very good quality seen from the average rating of the material experts which was 87,5%, media experts was 89,6%, the science teacher was 95,8%, participant responses small class students by 83,7%, and the response of large class students is 84,5%. It was concluded that the 3D Pageflip Professional-based e-module on energy has a very good quality so that it is feasible to be used in the science learning process of seventh grade junior high school students.

Abstract

This research aims at measuring the validity product of the developed science interactive e-book. The research method used is research and development, with a 3-D development model which is a modification of the 4-D model proposed by Thiagarajan (1974). The stages used are defining, planning (design) and developing (develop). To measure the product validity, a validation questionnaire assessed by two expert lecturers and three science teachers was employed. The development of teaching materials in the form of science interactive e-books is scored 81% and is considered valid to be limited trial test in junior high school level. The limited trial test is scored 34.55 which is considered as good category. Therefore, the developed e-modules can be used as learning resources on wave and disaster themes.
