Abstract

Information technology has been used in various sectors of life, including the health sector. One of them is the use of expert systems in diagnosing disease. Disease diagnosis carried out by an expert has weaknesses along with the expert's biological weaknesses. One technology that can be a solution is an expert system. This research aims to build a web-based expert system for diagnosing epilepsy in children, along with things that parents can do when treating epilepsy patients. The method used in this research is forward chaining, and system testing is carried out using the Black Box method. From the system design that has been created and tested, a web-based expert system application for diagnosing epilepsy in children has been produced. The black-box testing results show that all menus function well and as expected. The results of expert testing and user testing results obtained a final score of 3.8, which means the assessment is in the very suitable category. Apart from that, it will provide information and education to the public, in this case, the parents of epilepsy patients, regarding the type of epilepsy the child suffers from and how to treat it, which can be accessed anywhere and at any time.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to increase the capacity of the Kapita Village community, Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency, to manage ecotourism based on the creative economy. Through the Community Service (PkM) program, training was conducted on ecotourism and creative economic development, with active participation from the community and local village officials. Research Design and Methodology: The methodology includes direct education through material presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. This activity was carried out on November 9, 2024, at the Kapita Village Office, with participants consisting of the community and village officials. Data was collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively to identify changes in participants' understanding and attitudes towards ecotourism management and creative economy. Findings and Discussion: The results showed a significant increase in the community's understanding of ecotourism and creative economic concepts. There was an increased interest in starting small businesses supporting ecotourism, such as souvenir-making and tour guide services. However, inadequate infrastructure and environmental awareness still hinder effective ecotourism development. Implications: The implications of these findings suggest the need for collaboration between government, communities, and other stakeholders to provide sustainable training programs and infrastructure investments. This is important to improve the accessibility and quality of ecotourism destinations and encourage active community participation in creative economic development. Future research is recommended to conduct long-term evaluations of the impact of training programs and explore strategies to diversify tourist attractions to increase resilience to climate change and tourism market dynamics.

Abstract

This study explores the transintegration of customary law and Islamic law in Jambi in the context of history and culture. With a descriptive qualitative approach, this study uses data collection methods: in-depth interviews with traditional figures, ulama, and the community, field observations, and analysis of historical documents and related legal regulations. Data analysis techniques are carried out by identifying patterns, themes, and changes in the relationship between customary law and sharia. The study results indicate that the integration of customary law and sharia in Jambi has been going on since the time of the Jambi Sultanate, with the important role of figures such as Datuk Orang Kayo Hitam. In family law, Jambi customs accommodate sharia principles such as the prohibition of marrying siblings, although there are differences in specific customary rules. In criminal law, the application of qisas is adapted into customary fines, reflecting an effort to compromise sharia values in the structure of customary law. The challenges of modernization and plurality create dynamics in maintaining the principle of "custom is based on syarak, syarak is based on the Book of Allah". The majority of the community supports preserving customary law that is in line with Islamic values. This study emphasizes the importance of inclusive dialogue between traditional leaders, religious scholars, and the younger generation to ensure the relevance of customary law integrated with Islamic values.
