Abstract

This article discusses the effect of using mathematics learning modules based on ethnomathematics through a scientific approach to the accurate material of students' learning outcomes. The study was conducted for the fifth-grade students in one of the Elementary schools, which was located in Rongkop Gunungkidul in the academic year of 2021/2022. The subject of the study covers 16 students, which consist of 7 male students and 9 female students. The design of the study was qualitativequantitative research. Techniques of data collection used were tests and questionnaires. Techniques of data analysis used were qualitative and quantitative analysis. The result of the study showed the effect of using a mathematics learning module based on ethnomathematics through a scientific approach on the accurate material of students' learning outcomes. The total number of students who passed the test from 6 students was 37.5% increasing to 14 students (93.75%). The average score of students' learning outcomes increased from 79.94 to 95.44. The result of students' questionnaires showed that 87.5% of 14 students strongly agreed and 12.5% of 2 students agreed on the use of the mathematics learning module based on ethnomathematics.

Abstract

A long-term climate variations in the western Indonesian region (e.g. Sumatera) were evaluated using precipitation data as a proxy. The result showed that there was a long-term climate variation over Sumatera region indicated by a decreasing trend in precipitation (drying trend). Moreover, the long-term precipitation trend has a strong seasonality. Remarkable decreasing trend at a rate of 3.9 cm/year (the largest trend) was observed during the northwest monsoon (DJF) season, while the smallest decreasing trend of 1.5 cm/year occurred during the southeast monsoon (JJA) season. This result suggested that the Sumatera Island experienced a drying trend during the northwest monsoon season, and a dryer condition will be more frequently observed during the southeast monsoon season. The long-term precipitation over the Sumatera Island was linked to coupled air-sea interactions in the Indian and Pacific oceans. The connection between the seasonal climate trends and sea surface temperature (SST) in the Indian and Pacific oceans was demonstrated by the simultaneous correlations between the climate indices (e.g. Dipole Mode Index (DMI) and the Niño3.4 index) and the precipitation over the Sumatera Island. The results suggested that both the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) and the El Niño-Southern Oscillation Index (ENSO) have significant correlation with precipitation. However, remarkable correlations were observed during the fall transition of the IOD event.

Abstract

An artificial neural network analysis based on the self-organizing map (SOM) was used to examine patterns of satellite imagery. This study used 3 × 4 SOM array to extract patterns of satellite-observed chlorophyll-a (chl-a) along the southern coast of the Lesser Sunda Islands from 1998 to 2006. The analyses indicated two characteristic spatial patterns, namely the northwest and the southeast monsoon patterns. The northwest monsoon pattern was characterized by a low chl-a concentration. In contrast, the southeast monsoon pattern was indicated by a high chl-a distributed along the southern coast of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Furthermore, this study demonstrated that the seasonal variations of those two patterns were related to the variations of winds and sea surface temperature (SST). The winds were predominantly southeasterly (northwesterly) during southeast (northwest) monsoon, drived offshore (onshore) Ekman transport and produced upwelling (downwelling) along the southern coasts of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Consequently, upwelling reduce dSST and helped replenish the surface water nutrients, thus supporting high chl-a concentration. Finally, this study demonstrated that the SOM method was very useful for the identifications of patterns in various satellite imageries.

Abstract

Smart farming merupakan pendekatan pertanian modern yang mengintegrasikan teknologi digital, Internet of Things (IoT), otomatisasi, serta energi terbarukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi pengelolaan lahan. Transformasi ini menjadi sangat penting mengingat tantangan sektor pertanian saat ini, seperti perubahan iklim, keterbatasan lahan, fluktuasi harga energi, serta meningkatnya kebutuhan pangan akibat pertumbuhan penduduk. Oemahku hydrofarm menghadapi masalah kesulitan monitoring suhu, kelembaban dan nutrisi serta minimnya pasokan listrik saat memproduksi selada hidroponik. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengembangkan model implementasi smart farming terpadu yang mampu menjawab permasalahan tersebut melalui pengembangan sistem monitoring lingkungan, manajemen nutrisi otomatis, dan penggunaan energi surya sebagai sumber daya utama. Metode pengabdian dilakukan melalui perancangan IoT, pemilihan sensor lingkungan (pH, TDS, suhu, kelembaban), integrasi perangkat kontrol berbasis mikrokontroler, serta penyusunan dashboard pemantauan berbasis aplikasi Android. Selain itu, dilakukan evaluasi performa sistem terhadap konsumsi energi, pertumbuhan tanaman, stabilitas nutrisi, serta produktivitas hasil panen selama satu siklus budidaya. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan smart farming mampu menurunkan penggunaan air hingga 38% melalui sistem irigasi presisi, meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman sebesar 22% akibat kestabilan nutrisi serta menurunkan ketergantungan terhadap listrik PLN sebesar 65% berkat integrasi photovoltaic. Selain itu, pemantauan real-time melalui IoT terbukti meningkatkan akurasi pengambilan keputusan petani, mengurangi kesalahan manual, dan meningkatkan kontinuitas produksi. Dengan demikian, model smart farming yang dikembangkan dalam pengabdian ini terbukti efektif, efisien, dan relevan untuk diterapkan pada sistem pertanian modern, khususnya bagi pelaku UMKM pertanian yang membutuhkan solusi adaptif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The challenge of teaching English to students with low academic achievement is what inspired this line of inquiry. The purpose of this research was to provide an explanation of how the Team Games Tournament was implemented Elementary class in order to improve the English learning outcomes of the pupils. The type of action research that was conducted in the classroom for the purpose of this study was approached from a qualitative point of view. A total of 24 students took part in this research project, both as instructors and as research subjects. As means of collecting data for the purpose of this investigation, observation reports, learning progress examinations, and documentation were utilized. The findings of the research are that the implementation of the Team Games Tournament was generally carried out in an effective manner. Less teacher activity was recorded during Cycle I Meeting I, which sufficient category, however, more teacher activity was recorded during Meeting II, which rated as "good." Because of this, the student's results in learning English have increased. The implementation of the Team Games Tournament learning model in an educational of elementary school to improve the learning outcomes for students has been shown to be beneficial.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Low Back pain (LBP) merupakan keluhan muskuloskeletal yang sering dialami oleh pekerja kantor akibat postur duduk statis yang berkepanjangan. Kondisi ini dapat mengakibatkan nyeri serta penurunan fungsi, sehingga berkontribusi pada penurunan produktivitas kerja dan disabilitas. Latihan Abdominal Hollowing (AH) dikenal dengan teknik aktivasi core muscle yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan stabilitas lumbal dan mengurangi keluhan LBP. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau efektivitas latihan AH terhadap penurunan nyeri dan disabilitas LBP pada pekerja kantor berdasarkan bukti ilmiah terkini. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode narrative review dengan penelusuran literatur pada database PubMed, MDPI, PMC, ScienceDirect, IJSDR, dan PhysicalTreatment. Kriteria inklusi meliputi artikel internasional tahun 2015-2025, artikel penelitian eksperimen, dan artikel dengan populasi pasien LBP. Data dianalisis secara naratif untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh intervensi terhadap nyeri dan disabilitas. Hasil: Latihan AH terbukti efektif secara signifikan dalam menurunkan nyeri dan disabilitas LBP pada pekerja kantor melalui peningkatan stabilitas segmental, memodifikasi pola aktivasi otot, dan mengurangi beban mekanik pada tulang belakang. Efektivitas latihan ini optimal dicapai ketika latihan dilakukan secara teratur selama 6-10 minggu. Kesimpulan: Latihan AH efektif dalam menurunkan nyeri dan disabilitas low back pain pada pekerja kantor.

Abstract

The condenser is a key component in solar desalination systems that converts water vapor into fresh water through the condensation process. The efficiency of the condenser greatly affects the amount of fresh water produced. This study aims to review the development of research on the application of salt pond condensers in seawater desalination processes. The method used is a literature review of various scientific journals that discuss internal, external, spiral and conical condenser designs and their integration with solar still systems. The results of the study show that external condensers can increase productivity, while conical condensers increase efficiency. In addition, salt ponds have the potential to become a natural condensation medium that can store heat and improve system performance. This concept can be the basis for the development of efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly desalination technology to meet the need for clean water in coastal areas of Indonesia.

Abstract

Islamic economic institutions are expected to serve as key drivers of equitable and inclusive development grounded in the values of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah. However, current realities indicate limited integration of sustainability principles and a dominant short-term profit orientation, which constrains the social contribution of Islamic institutions to public welfare. This study focuses on public policies aimed at strengthening the capacity and role of Islamic economic institutions in promoting a sustainable financial system; the implementation of sustainable governance (good governance) to enhance stability and public trust in Islamic financial institutions; the institutional integration of green finance and social finance; and cross-sector collaboration strategies among government, academia, and industry to reinforce an inclusive and globally adaptive Islamic economic ecosystem. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literature review and policy analysis approach. The findings indicate that: (1) strengthening Islamic economic institutions requires comprehensive public policy synergies encompassing regulatory, fiscal, and social dimensions; (2) sustainable governance enhances the legitimacy and competitiveness of Islamic financial institutions; (3) the integration of green finance and social finance plays a strategic role in achieving a socially just and environmentally sustainable economic system; and (4) cross-sector collaboration is a critical factor in formulating adaptive policies aligned with maqāṣid al-sharīʿah amid global change.

Abstract

Polyculture is a way of cultivating two or more types of organisms in the same container for the purpose of efficient use of land. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different stocking densities on the growth of white leg shrimp and milkfish by polyculture and to determine the stocking density that influences the growth of white shrimp and milkfish by polyculture in ponds. The study was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications. The results showed that the specific growth rates in the three treatments, both white leg shrimp and milkfish varied. Similarly, the absolute weight growth between white leg shrimp and milkfish. Survival rate of white leg shrimp in treatment C, 85.56%, treatment B, 72.81%, and treatment A, 66.04%. While, the survival rate of milkfish in the three treatments was 100%. The feed conversion ratio in treatment A, 0.43, treatment C, 0.28, and treatment B, 0.17 grams. The different stocking densities of white leg shrimp and milkfish polycultures did not affect the absolute weight growth of white leg shrimp and their specific growth rate. Abstract

Environmental issues, particularly in waste management, remain a significant challenge in elementary schools. The lack of student awareness and low levels of creativity in managing waste call for innovative learning approaches. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of the 3R method as an effort to enhance creativity and environmental awareness among third-grade students at SD Inpres Pare'-pare', Gowa Regency. The research adopted a Classroom Action Research (CAR) model with qualitative approach. Data acquisition was carried out through various methods, including observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The study was conducted in two learning cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results indicate that applying the 3R method has a positive impact on improving students' creativity and fostering their environmental awareness. Students showed greater ability to generate creative ideas using recycled materials and became more engaged in maintaining cleanliness and managing waste responsibly. The learning process became more interactive, with students showing greater enthusiasm in participating in activities to waste management. This improvement was also reflected in the observations where both teachers and students demonstrated active involvement in each stage of the learning process. Therefore, the 3R method can serve as an effective educational strategy to foster environmental values and enhance student creativity from an early age.
