Abstract

The development of the world's sharia economy in the last few decades has not only made halal products an actual trend-send discourse as well as a policy reference in the local and even global sphere at this time. Indonesia is a country that has the largest Muslim population in the world, with statistics on the number of Indonesian Muslim population reaching 231.06 million people or representing 11.92% of the world's Muslim population. Estimated total spending on domestic halal products is considered to continue to grow to reach around USD 2.2 trillion. Based on the 2019/2020 State of Global Islamic Economy Report, Indonesia is now ranked 1st in the world as a consumer of halal food, 2nd in the world as a consumer of halal cosmetics, and 4th in the world as a consumer of halal medicines. To make Indonesia the mecca of world halal products, of course, one must be able to change consumptive habits to be productive. Therefore, to change these habits, several strategic actions are needed; namely promotion of halal products, education of halal products and no less important is the government improving the quality of halal product certification.

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to use selected RAPD markers (Primer UBC-122 and YNZ-22) in parental selection to the bacterial Vibrio alginolyticus resistance in Tiger groupers (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus).  Eighteen fish parent samples were challenged with Vibrio alginolyticus and parental selection was examined by a PCR-RAPD method.   The results showed that from 18 fish samples, primer YNZ-22 generated 18 fragments while primer UBC-122 generated 8 fragments only (KHP, KB, HB, PB, MKH, MH, K and MK).  In addition, the average number of fragments from each samples generated from primer-YNZ was higher (3,2) than from UBC-122 (2,3). This indicates that primer YNZ-22 is better than primer UBC-122 to use in parental selection to the Vibrio alginolyticus resistance in Tiger groupers.  From the parental selection, five fish parents (KHP, PB, MH, K and  MK) were selected for their high resistance to the bacterial Vibrio alginolyticus.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the selection of online transportation modes (Grab, Go-Jek, and Maxim) based on service quality variables consisting of cost, ease of access, waiting time, security, and comfort. This study was conducted using a quantitative method with two types of analysis, namely binary logit analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents in Parepare City. Based on binary logit analysis, the chance of choosing the Grab mode is higher than Maxim and Go-Jek above 50%, while Maxim and Gojek only have a chance of being selected which is no more than 30%. Based on multiple linear regression analysis, the variables of cost, ease of access, waiting time, security, and comfort have a high significant influence below 0.01 with a coefficient of determination reaching 85.90%. This study contributes to the development and planning strategy of online transportation modes for medium urban areas such as Parepare City.

Abstract

Developing countries in Southeast Asia are still relatively young compared to other regions around the world. However, recent statistics suggest that the situation is beginning to change in this regard, with many of these populations aging at a much faster rate than in many other countries. These developments require urgent policy action to create a sustainable path to economic growth before demographic changes become less benign in the medium term. discusses the economic consequences of population aging, rising economic support ratios, and declining potential growth rates. It is critical for developing countries in Southeast Asia to increase their total productivity (TFP) growth rates to achieve more sustainable economic outcomes. By conducting panel regressions using data from 82 countries over the study period 1996–2019, our study shows that increasing research and development (R&D) spending and facilitating structural changes that transform the digital economy landscape are key policy options that boost TFP growth. Globalization has significantly affected the economy, ecology, and society over the past decade. Meanwhile, the green economy has emerged as an important policy framework for growth and development in both developed and developing countries. The current study is an attempt to provide a detailed overview of globalization, green economy, and climate challenges to draw some implications. There is disagreement between competing green economy discourses and various definitions, all of which have problems. Recognizing the environmental impacts of natural resource depletion and the economic benefits of environmental management are common examples of operationalizations of the green economy. The new study also examines the impact of climate change on the green economy and infrastructure development.

Abstract

Climate change is a major challenge that affects ecosystem resilience and human life, including in Indonesia, especially in North Morowali Regency which has extensive tropical forests. This study aims to assess the contribution of ecosystem services in climate regulation in the region and analyze how climate change interacts with ecosystem performance. The methodology used involves assessing ecosystem services for climate regulation and changes in forest land cover. The study's results indicated that forest dominance significantly aided climate regulation, with conservation forest areas contributing 21.51%, protected forests 20.68%, and production forests 19.52%, particularly in carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation. In contrast, non-forest areas showed a lower contribution. Regional resilience to climate change, it is recommended that the management of conservation and protected forests be strengthened, by considering the potential of ecosystem services they have in mitigating and adapting to climate change.

Abstract

The Western and Central Indonesia Regions are far superior when compared to the Eastern Indonesia Region. This is a result of a number of factors, including variations in development spending, the quantity of balancing funds, population, level of investment in the area, and the region's natural resources. The purpose of this study is to investigate and evaluate the effects of macroeconomic factors, the status of oil-rich regions, and regional government spending on regional economic growth. This analysis employs a static panel and dynamic panel approach (VECM panel). The research uses data from 20 provinces in Indonesia between 2008 and 2018, which includes complete data from 34 provinces. The study's findings demonstrate that long-term (VECM panel) spending on education, agriculture, general allocation funds, population, and foreign investment has a positive impact on regional economic growth, while spending on health, fisheries, and maritime has a negative impact. According to studies conducted using a static panel, foreign direct investment and spending on foreign direct investment, education, agriculture, fisheries, and maritime affairs have a positive impact on regional economic growth, while the General Allocation Fund has a negative impact. Research has demonstrated that the dummy variable representing regional status has a positive impact on regional economic growth. The government ensures that the state budget is allocated more optimally to overcome this problem inequality in obtaining opportunities in the education and health sectors through improvement public infrastructure services.
